Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova participated in a press conference to launch the regional movement "For Healthy Longevity Medicine." The regional movement aims to become a key tool for achieving national goals in public health and promoting a culture of health preservation. The event was held at the Rossiya Segodnya International Multimedia Press Center. Also participating in the press conference were Deputy Chief of the Government Staff Olga Krivonos and First Deputy Director for Development of the Roscongress Foundation and member of the Civic Chamber Anastasia Stolkova. The discussion was moderated by TV presenter and editor-in-chief of the Doctor TV channel Evelina Zakamskaya.
"The regional movement 'For Healthy Longevity Medicine' unites medicine, culture, the media, politicians and public figures, bloggers, and volunteers around a single mission: to help people live longer and better lives. It is especially important to ensure equal access to a healthy lifestyle, healthy longevity medicine, and technologies for maintaining and developing cognitive health, including through culture and creativity, for residents of remote and rural areas. Only through joint efforts can we foster health preservation at all stages of life," noted Tatyana Golikova.
The event presented the movement's key areas of activity: developing and supporting regional health centers to improve their accessibility, promote their popularity, and monitor their effectiveness; creating mobile multidisciplinary teams of volunteers, healthcare workers, and cultural and sports figures to promote health-preserving practices; organizing traveling exhibitions, tours, and cultural events in remote and rural areas to support cognitive health and engage citizens in creative activities; encouraging physical activity, promoting healthy eating, and conducting large-scale educational efforts to foster a responsible attitude toward one's own health. The regional movement will become an important tool for achieving strategic goals in the area of public health and healthcare.
As Tatyana Golikova noted in her speech, the goal of prolonging healthy life and increasing its expectancy was set by Russian President Vladimir Putin. She explained that maintaining health involves a very broad range of tasks that can only be addressed with the participation of the individual.
Effective global national strategies for healthy longevity medicine include the following elements:
1. Pre-risk medicine with regular screening examinations.
2. Supporting a healthy lifestyle for citizens: access to sports infrastructure, outdoor activities, motivation to give up bad habits.
3. Cultural and spiritual-moral development of citizens.
4. Educational programs on healthy lifestyle for citizens and healthcare workers.
5. Promotion of healthy eating programs, correction with geroprotectors in case of severe deficiency.
All these elements are built around and for a person at the regional level.
National projects with new activities reflecting modern development trends are aimed at these goals. The national project "Long and Active Life" includes the federal project "Health for Everyone," which aims to modernize health centers to promote healthy longevity medicine. Last year alone, more than 38 million people visited these centers.
The functions of health centers are changing, and they are being reoriented toward identifying and addressing pre-risk factors for disease development. To this end, as part of the project, regions will purchase 247 medical devices this year alone for comprehensive assessment of body parameters, organ and system conditions, and disease prevention. The list of such devices was approved by a Ministry of Health order in June of this year. Furthermore, the Ministry of Health has prepared a draft order allowing regions to purchase additional equipment and expand their assessment capabilities.
To make healthy longevity medicine widely accessible, modern medical technologies are needed. These challenges are being addressed through the national project "New Health Preservation Technologies."
This combination:
· regenerative biomedicine, research on which we began back in 2023 as part of the federal project “Medical Science for Humanity”;
· development of biomarkers and panels that allow for a single examination to quickly determine biological age, assess body parameters, the state of organs and systems, as well as drugs that can prevent cellular aging processes;
· genetic research: predictive genetics, pharmacogenetics and nutrigenetics, research on which is carried out within the framework of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Genetic Technologies until 2030;
· conducting research aimed at combating age-associated diseases and their complications, including neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
A healthy living environment plays a vital role in prolonging longevity. A combination of environmental factors, dietary habits, physical activity, lifestyle, and strong social connections are key factors in promoting healthy longevity.
The national project "Family" includes measures to develop people's spiritual and moral potential and to strengthen the role of the family in a person's lifestyle.
"The main activities of the national projects are being implemented in the regions. The regional movement 'For Healthy Longevity Medicine' will help promote them. The movement's goal is to facilitate the development and promotion of healthy longevity medicine and health-preserving technologies, including a healthy longevity culture, among the population, in order to protect the health of citizens," emphasized Tatyana Golikova.
The regions will be responsible for implementing the movement's activities. The Government Office will coordinate the movement. Roscongress has been designated as the movement's operator.
To organize the movement's activities and events, regulations for the regional movement "For Healthy Longevity Medicine" have been developed. The highest executive body of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation must also establish a movement council, chaired by the governor or his or her deputy. "The council members must represent a wide range of industries. And, of course, each individual in their field must be able to clearly explain what they believe healthy longevity to be," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
