NANCHANG, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — The 2025 China International Ceramics and Porcelain Fair opened Saturday in Jingdezhen, east China's "porcelain capital," attracting more than 1,000 Chinese and foreign buyers.

The five-day event features exhibitors from more than 30 countries, including Russia, Italy, and Germany. The fair covers 140,000 square meters and consists of eight thematic exhibition zones showcasing the full spectrum of the ceramic and porcelain industry—from traditional masterpieces to contemporary design solutions.

Changchun, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — Early in the morning, a local clinic specializing in traditional Chinese moxibustion in Hunchun City, Northeast China's Jilin Province, was filled with the aroma of Chinese herbal medicine. Russian tourist Alexey lay on a treatment bed, while a moxibustion specialist held a lit moxa stick over the back of his head, gently performing the procedure.

The city of Hunchun is located at the junction of the borders of China, North Korea and Russia and is the only city in Jilin Province that has a checkpoint on the border with Russia.

53-year-old Alexey from Vladivostok, suffering from insomnia and cervical spondylosis, traveled to Hunchun on the recommendation of a friend to undergo treatment using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

"Today is the fourth day of my treatment. My arms and legs used to always go numb, but now the quality of my sleep has improved significantly," Alexey said with satisfaction. "The visa-free regime is very convenient; thanks to it, I'll be able to come back often in the future."

Yang Zhenning was born in 1922 in Hefei (Anhui Province, eastern China). In the 1940s, he moved to the United States to pursue his education and academic research, where he later remained and became a teacher. In 1957, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.

Mexico City, October 17 (Xinhua) — A new trade agreement between Mexico and the European Union (EU) will be signed in the coming months and will come into force in February 2026, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Friday.

BEIJING, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — China's strong growth in international tourist arrivals continued in the third quarter of 2025, driven largely by the continued expansion of the country's visa-free entry policy.

From July to September this year, foreign citizens made 7.246 million visa-free trips to China, up 48.3 percent from the same period last year, according to data from the National Immigration Administration released Thursday.

Visa-free entry accounted for 72.2 percent of all entries by foreign citizens, the department reported.

In recent years, China has steadily expanded its visa-free entry policy for foreigners. Tourists from 76 countries can now enjoy unilateral or reciprocal visa-free travel, while citizens of another 55 countries can visit China visa-free for up to 10 days in transit before departing for a third destination.

Russia is the latest country to be added to China's visa-free entry list. Since this policy came into effect on September 15, the number of Russians entering China has increased significantly.

Russian tourist Anna Ivanova, who arrived at Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province in southern China, expressed surprise at the speed of entry procedures.

She said the entire process took her only about 20 minutes, from disembarking the plane to completing all the formalities. Traveling to China has become very convenient thanks to the visa-free policy.

According to the National Immigration Administration of China, the number of cross-border trips by foreigners soared by 21.6 percent to 1.43 million during the holiday.
