On October 19, the NSUtella team, consisting of Roman Boluts, Matvey Goncharov, and Sofia Lylova, representing the Faculty of Information Technology, took part in the finals of the RuCode International Championship and took 25th place in the A/B division, becoming the competition's prize winner.

RuCode is a major all-Russian IT festival on artificial intelligence and algorithmic programming, bringing together schoolchildren, students, and professionals interested in modern technology. It is organized by the country's leading universities, technology parks, public organizations, and IT companies, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The festival includes championships in competitive programming and artificial intelligence, educational intensives, career guidance events, master classes, and lectures. For many participants, RuCode offers an opportunity to test themselves against tough competition and gain practical experience solving challenging problems.

"I decided to participate because I knew RuCode was an interesting Olympiad. Last year, I participated as a school student," says Roman Boluts, a first-year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Information Technology at NSU.

The finals took place at NSU. The Olympiad began at 2:10 PM and lasted five hours. According to the competition rules, each team was assigned one computer, on which the participants took turns solving problems.

"The tasks varied in difficulty—from very simple ones, which almost everyone solved, to very complex ones, which only a few teams managed. This wasn't a training event, but a competition, so I didn't gain any new knowledge, but it was a good way to test my skills and preparation," Roman shares.

The results of the finals were published in championship tableFollowing their performance, the NSU team received a RuCode prize winner's diploma, cementing the university's reputation as one of the strongest participants in Russian programming competitions.

Brothers Forever: GUU students attended the anniversary of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society

The first organization of this kind in Russia turned 68 years old—the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society—has been uniting people and institutions for decades to support good-neighborly bilateral relations.

The anniversary was celebrated in a festive atmosphere at the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow. Galina Kulikova, First Deputy Chair of the Society, Honorary Doctor of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation, delivered a report entitled "Public Diplomacy in Russian-Chinese Relations." Kulikova has been studying China for over 70 years and has contributed significantly to the development of bilateral ties, and her experience inspires young researchers.

The Chinese side was represented at the celebration by Zhang Wei, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, and Feng Litao, Minister Counselor for Culture and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow.

The forum, which brought together scholars, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates to discuss key trends and challenges that have accompanied the transformation of Russian society over the past 35 years, was organized by the Department of Public and Municipal Administration (PMA) at our university with the support of the Russian Science Foundation and was held in the Academic Council Hall.

Department Head and Associate Professor Sergei Chuev, PhD in History, addressed the participants with a welcoming address. Vladimirovich emphasized the importance of an interdisciplinary analysis of transformation processes—from the collapse of the USSR to the integration of new territories into the Russian Federation.

The youth section attracted particular attention, where undergraduate and graduate students from the Department of State and Municipal Management presented research on patriotic education, civic identity, the adaptation of migrant children, territorial branding, and the dynamics of youth sentiment. Their presentations demonstrated a high level of scientific preparation and the relevance of their chosen topics.

Following the presentations, a lively discussion ensued, with participants exchanging views on prospects for further research and practical steps to strengthen the socioeconomic and cultural unity of Russia's regions.

Ekaterina Khalimon, Associate Professor of the Project Management Department at the State University of Management, represents our university in the Best Mentoring Practice (Higher School) category of the Mentor in Education in Moscow – 2026 competition.

Ekaterina Khalimon has been working at our university for ten years, helping young researchers take their first steps in science and actively participating in the trade union. For the competition, Ekaterina presented a research mentoring model, which has resulted in the publication of over 150 scientific papers under her supervision—in Russian, English, and French.

This year, over 150 teachers from various educational institutions across the capital are vying for the title of best mentor. The competition brings together professionals for whom mentoring isn't a chore, but a deep-seated desire to share experiences, inspire, and support the development of their colleagues.

For the fifth year now, the championship has been held with the support of the Moscow Department of Education and Science under the auspices of the city's trade union organization, the All-Russian Trade Union of Education, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. ISTANBUL, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) — A Turkish court on Friday sentenced 11 people to life imprisonment for the deadly ski resort hotel fire that killed 78 people in the northwestern province of Bolu in January.

Thirty-two defendants were involved in the trial. The defendants denied the charges and are expected to appeal the verdict.
