Jiuquan, October 30 (Xinhua) — China is actively introducing commercial competition mechanisms into its human spaceflight program, particularly in its lunar exploration project, the China Manned Space Administration (CMSA) announced on Thursday.

A competitive commercial model has already been adopted for the development of a manned lunar rover, lunar surface remote sensing satellites, and a low-cost cargo transportation system for the space station, noted CMSA official Zhang Jingbo.

According to him, contracts for the construction of these facilities were signed following a competitive selection process, and work is currently underway to develop them.

Zhang Jingbo said the scale and proportion of participation of commercial organizations has “significantly increased” compared to the previous period, and their contribution to accelerating the implementation of the program is becoming “increasingly tangible.”

The SKIF Center for Collective Use is creating a new generation of scientific and urban ecosystems.

The issues of infrastructure development of the territories adjacent to the construction of the Center for Collective Use "Siberian Ring Photon Source" (CCU "SKIF") were discussed on October 29-30 at the site new campus of NSU During the strategic session, Deputy Governor Irina Manuilova opened the strategic session. Participants in the strategic session identified five key projects for immediate implementation: the construction of the SKIF Center for Collective Use (CCU) training center—a separate building for student work—a scientific and business communications center, a cooperative data center, a pavilion complex for anchor residents, and an interdisciplinary research complex for aerodynamics, mechanical engineering, and energy.

NSU is one of the key universities training personnel for SKIF, offering specialized interdisciplinary educational programs. The university also annually organizes a school for young scientists on "Application of Synchrotron Radiation for Solving Biological Problems" and a school on synchrotron research methods in materials science. Furthermore, the SKIF-NSU research and education station will be one of the first stations at the megascience facility.

A second spring has been improved in Chuvashia as part of a joint project between the Russian Geographical Society and the Ecology Foundation of the Russian Agricultural Bank.

 The grand opening of the spring “Spring of Life” (“Purnăs çălkçě”) took place on the territory of the Cheboksary Botanical Garden. The project to restore it was implemented thanks to the joint efforts of the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) and the Ecology Fund of Rosselkhozbank. This is already the second spring in Chuvashia that has received a new life as part of this initiative.  Previously, a spring on the territory of the Cheboksary branch of the Main Botanical Garden named after. N.V. Tsitsin of the Russian Academy of Sciences was examined by specialists from the Russian Geographical Society and included in the project “Springs of Chuvashia”, implemented on the initiative of the Head of the Republic Oleg Nikolaev. The examination showed that the water from the source complies with all SanPiN standards, after which the Ecology Fund of Rosselkhozbank decided to finance its reconstruction.  Funds for the work were accumulated thanks to the employees and clients of Rosselkhozbank, who purchased charitable certificates from the Ecology Foundation. BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) — China's Ministry of Commerce on Thursday released the results achieved by Chinese and US delegations during their latest economic and trade talks in Kuala Lumpur.

The US will lift the so-called 10% "fentanyl tariff" and suspend for another year the 24% reciprocal tariffs on goods from China, including goods from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region, according to a statement from the US Department of Justice.

China will make appropriate adjustments to its countermeasures against the aforementioned US tariffs, a representative of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce noted, adding that the parties agreed to continue extending certain measures to exclude goods from tariffs.

According to the spokesperson, the United States will suspend the new "50 percent rule" in export controls, announced on September 29, for one year. China will suspend its corresponding export control measures, announced on October 9, for one year and will review and finalize specific plans.

The United States will suspend for one year the implementation of measures under Section 301 investigations related to China's maritime sector, logistics, and shipbuilding. In response, China will correspondingly suspend its countermeasures against the United States for one year once the U.S. suspension takes effect.

SEOUL, October 30 (Xinhua) — President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae-myung said he is ready to work with Chinese President Xi Jinping to advance mutually beneficial cooperation between his country and China, improve the well-being of the peoples of both countries, and achieve tangible results for them. The South Korean leader made this statement in an exclusive written interview with Xinhua.

At the invitation of Lee Zhe Meng, Xi Jinping will attend the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 30 to November 1 and pay a state visit to the Republic of Korea.

This will be the first meeting between the two countries' leaders since the new South Korean government came to power, so the visit is of particular importance for bilateral relations, Lee Jae-myung emphasized.

The South Korean president noted that he, like Xi Jinping, began his career at the local government level, working directly with the people and implementing a philosophy that puts the people's well-being first. Both eventually became leaders of their countries.
