URUMQI, February 23 (Xinhua) — No deaths or injuries have been reported so far from the 5.1-magnitude earthquake that struck Yuli County in Bayan Gol Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local authorities said.

According to the China Earthquake Network Center, the earthquake occurred at 12:12 PM on Monday. The epicenter was located at a depth of 15 kilometers and was located at 40.88 degrees north latitude and 84.17 degrees east longitude.

KATHMANDU, February 23 (Xinhua) — Eighteen people, including a foreigner, were killed when a passenger bus plunged into a river in Dhading district in central Nepal on Monday, local authorities said.

The bus, traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, veered off the highway and fell into the Trishuli River. There were 45 people on board.

The Chinese Embassy in Nepal confirmed that one Chinese citizen is missing and another was injured in the accident. The injured citizen is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) — A man was shot dead by the U.S. Secret Service and local police in the early hours of Sunday after attempting to break into the gated community of U.S. President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

“On February 22, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a man between the ages of 20 and 24 was shot and killed by U.S. Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Deputy after attempting to breach the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago,” the Secret Service said in a statement.

"This individual, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, has been declared deceased. He was seen near the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago estate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can," the department clarified.
