Marat Khusnullin held a meeting with the Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov, during which the parties discussed key issues of the region’s socio-economic development.

"The Ryazan Region demonstrates steady growth in housing construction. Over the past six months, 356.4 thousand square meters of housing have been commissioned in the region, which is a third more than in the same period last year. As part of the national project "Safe High-Quality Roads", over 1.2 thousand km of road surface were put in order in 2019-2024. Under the program for creating a comfortable urban environment, 150 public spaces and 71 courtyards were improved. In addition, 11 projects were implemented – winners of the All-Russian competition of the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment. We have large-scale and ambitious goals for the national project "Infrastructure for Life". Our task is to take a comprehensive approach to the development of Russian cities and villages so that they become as comfortable as possible for citizens," said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the region is actively using infrastructure budget loans, thanks to which four kindergartens and a sewer collector have already been commissioned. In addition, in 2022–2024, 102 units of public transport were delivered at the expense of the federal budget: 92 buses and 10 trolleybuses.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the construction of a bridge across the Oka River, which will become an important element of the region’s transport infrastructure.

The head of the Ryazan region Pavel Malkov drew attention to the modernization of the public utility infrastructure. "This issue is currently receiving special attention. We are actively participating in all federal programs, trying to use all opportunities. Thanks to this, we will be able to seriously update the public utility infrastructure by 2030. The total investment will amount to 14.2 billion rubles. The quality of life will improve for 200 thousand people," the governor said.

Pavel Malkov emphasized that the Ryazan region was one of the first to conclude a federal agreement on the KRT together with the Territorial Development Fund.

529 student design bureaus (SDB), located in 78 regions of Russia, were able to attract more than a thousand industrial companies to joint activities in 2024 – this is twice as much as the year before.

The work of the SKB is aimed at developing students' design and construction skills, and allows team members to engage in scientific research and development, noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

"On the instructions of President Vladimir Putin, a system of student design bureaus is being created in our country. It helps involve young people in the development of new technologies and products, and also helps improve the quality of engineering education. We see the active development of this system: in 2022, there were 58 SKBs operating in Russia, and today there are already 529. Over the past year, the number of industrial partners for student design bureaus has doubled," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

He added that large Russian companies, including Rosatom State Corporation, Rostec State Corporation, Gazprom PJSC, Sberbank PJSC, and Russian Railways OJSC, are actively participating in the work of the SKB.

The activities of student design bureaus correspond to the priority areas of scientific and technological development of the country, noted the head of the Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov.

"The most popular areas of activity in student design bureaus right now are information and additive technologies, robotics and biotechnology. In total, more than 83 thousand students, postgraduates, teachers, young scientists are involved in the SKB, and all of them, united by a keen interest in engineering activities, contribute to our country's achievement of technological leadership," said Valery Falkov.

The top five regions in terms of the number of student design bureaus were Moscow (66), Bashkortostan (30), St. Petersburg (29), Novosibirsk (25) and Tomsk (21) regions.

The top five universities by the number of SKBs included Orenburg State University (20), Ufa University of Science and Technology (16), Chuvashia State University named after I.N. Ulyanov (13), and Southern Federal University (11). Fifth place was shared between Novosibirsk State Technical University, Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University, and Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev – each of them has nine bureaus.

It should be noted that SKB carries out a lot of work on career guidance for schoolchildren. Open days, excursions, meetings with young engineers, specialized master classes and competitions are held for the children – all this is aimed at involving schoolchildren in engineering creativity.

Let us recall that in April of this year, the winners of the first student bureau competition were announced: 15 universities received subsidies for the creation and development of their SKB.

WINDHOEK, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — The Namibian government has expressed deep concern and condemned the recent decision by Israel's security cabinet to take control of Gaza City, warning that it will worsen the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Namibia's Ministry of International Relations and Trade expressed its disapproval of the plan, saying it could worsen a situation characterised by widespread hunger, poverty and forced starvation.

The department's executive director, Penda Naanda, said the ministry welcomed the condemnation of the plan by concerned members of the international community.

“Guided by the principles enshrined in our Constitution, Namibia continues to advocate for the peaceful resolution of international disputes and is firmly committed to supporting initiatives aimed at promoting and protecting the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people,” he added.

Namibia calls on all UN Member States to fulfil their international obligations and not stand by while a humanitarian catastrophe of potentially colossal proportions unfolds, he said. –0–
