Specialists from the city services complex will put more than 100 streets in the north-east of the capital in order. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

"We continue to implement a comprehensive improvement program; in total, we will renovate about 700 streets in the capital this year, including 108 in the North-Eastern Administrative District. Work has already started on 81 streets, including Shiroka, Leskova, and Butyrskaya," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

The main objective of the program is to ensure comfortable movement for drivers and pedestrians, to organize convenient routes to residential areas, transport and socially significant facilities.

As part of the work, more than 1.2 million square meters of asphalt concrete pavement on the roadway and over 300 thousand square meters on sidewalks will be replaced, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow shared. On August 9, Moscow will host the SUP surfing festival “Yauza Fest”, organized by the capital’s Department of Sports. The event will take place on the Academician Tupolev Embankment and will be part of the project "Summer in Moscow".

The festival will bring together about 1,500 water sports enthusiasts who will take part in a five-kilometer swim — from the Academician Tupolev Embankment to the Rubtsov Bridge and back. Boards can be rented for free, so everyone can join the celebration regardless of their level of training.
