“This drone has a long flight time, a stable signal, and can fly from Ezhou to North America!” Abdullah, a Pakistani, says in fluent English while selling products on TikTok live from the Streaming Center of China Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park (Ezhou). In one hour, he managed to achieve a great result by selling bags worth $7,000. Having lived in China for almost five years and settled in Hubei province six months ago, the guy immediately identified this province as the place where his dreams would come true: “I am fascinated by the dynamics of China’s development and hope to stay here forever.”

Abdullah’s fateful connection with Ezhou began with a cross-border e-commerce training at the park. Bi Wei, secretary general of the Cross-Border E-Commerce Special Committee of Hubei Chamber of Commerce, vice chairman and secretary general of the Ezhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Association, and the responsible representative of China Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park (Ezhou), said that the park provides interested parties with three days of free offline training, from explaining the park’s policies, opening a store, to building a business operation based on filming videos. After the training, they can also enjoy 30 days of practical support, with the cost of a seat being only 200 yuan per month. This is why Abdullah quickly grew from a “newbie” to a leader who can sell products on his own.

Behind Abdullah's dream is the strong support of Ezhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park. The park has a total investment of about 498 million yuan, covers an area of 14.4 hectares, and has a total construction area of 149,500 square meters. Since the start of operation on April 30 this year, the "speed of airport resources" has impressed the industry: 258 companies have registered and signed contracts, 62 key companies have become residents, and the import and export trade volume has exceeded 310 million US dollars.

Abdullah now sells Shenzhen-made drones and other “Made in China” products to the world through livestreams. “From my studies to my work, China has given me so many opportunities,” he says gratefully. In the future, he plans to seriously pursue a career in livestreaming in Ezhou, and the park will also move towards building a cross-border trade ecosystem that spans central China and connects the world, allowing more dreamers like Abdullah to realize their value here.

OSLO, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Wednesday said any interference in the internal affairs of Denmark and Greenland is "unacceptable," responding to reports that American citizens with ties to the White House have been involved in covert influence work in Greenland.

Earlier in the day, Danish broadcaster DR reported that at least three US citizens linked to President Donald Trump had carried out influence operations in Greenland, including setting up private networks and compiling lists of local figures based on their position on US control of the Arctic island.

"We have very clear differences when it comes to Greenland. Any interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenlandic democracy is unacceptable," Frederiksen told reporters, stressing that her government takes the issue "very seriously."

The prime minister also said Washington had not directly denied the allegations. “I note that the Americans have clearly not rejected what was reported today. This is, of course, serious,” she said.

Ms Frederiksen said she had raised the issue with US senators at a meeting attended by Greenlandic Foreign Minister Viviane Motzfeldt. “We have made it very clear that this is unacceptable and we will pass this information directly to our colleagues in the United States,” she said.

The Danish Foreign Ministry said its head, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, summoned the US charge d'affaires on Wednesday to discuss the reports.

Since taking office earlier this year, Trump has repeatedly expressed interest in establishing control over Greenland, saying he would not rule out using “military or economic coercion” to achieve that goal.

The Danish Security Intelligence Service has told media that Greenland is increasingly becoming the target of influence campaigns aimed at creating tension in the island's relations with Copenhagen.

Greenland, a former Danish colony, became an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark in 1953. In 1979, it was granted self-government, although Denmark retained authority over foreign affairs and defence. –0–

HANOI, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — The death toll from Typhoon Kajiki and the floods it caused in Vietnam has risen to seven, with one person still missing and 34 injured, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported on Wednesday.

According to the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the disaster destroyed 15 houses and damaged more than 8,700 buildings, including 63 schools and eight medical facilities. More than 81,500 hectares of rice fields were flooded, and about 2,000 heads of livestock and poultry died.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh has ordered local authorities to urgently restore electricity, telecommunications, transport, schools and health services, as well as deliver humanitarian aid and repair damaged homes to stabilize the situation in affected communities ahead of the new school year.

Typhoon Kajiki, Vietnam's fifth storm this year, made landfall earlier this week, battering several provinces in the northern and central parts of the country with heavy rains and strong winds. –0–

UNITED NATIONS, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — All members of the United Nations Security Council except the United States on Wednesday called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and demanded that Israel stop expanding military operations in the enclave.

"We call for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire. We call for the immediate, dignified and unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas and other groups. We call for a significant increase in humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza," the 14 countries said in a joint statement.

They also called on Israel to immediately reverse its decision to further expand military operations in the Palestinian enclave with the aim of capturing Gaza City. “This decision, which we reject, will inevitably worsen the already dire humanitarian situation and endanger the lives of all civilians, including the hostages,” they said in a joint statement.

States stressed that Israel must immediately and unconditionally lift all restrictions on aid delivery, including opening all land routes and allowing the UN and humanitarian partners to operate safely and at scale.

They stated that the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence must be central to humanitarian action.

The 14 countries mentioned include Algeria, the United Kingdom, Guyana, Greece, Denmark, China, Pakistan, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Slovenia, Somalia, Sierra Leone and France. –0–

Sudan's El Fasher has become the epicentre of children's suffering – UN

UNITED NATIONS, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — El Fasher, a city in Sudan's North Darfur state that has been under siege for 500 days, has become the epicenter of children's suffering, U.N. humanitarian agencies said Wednesday.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stressed that the already dire situation in North Darfur continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate.

The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said malnutrition, disease and violence were claiming the lives of young people in El Fasher every day. An estimated 260,000 civilians, half of them children, have been trapped in the city and cut off from humanitarian aid for more than 16 months.

UNICEF said more than 10,000 children in El Fasher had been treated for severe acute malnutrition since January, almost double the number last year. At least 63 people, mostly women and children, were reported to have died from malnutrition in one week.

El Fasher, which is besieged by the Rapid Intervention Force (RIF) militia, has seen its supply lines cut off, UNICEF said. Health facilities and mobile feeding teams have been forced to suspend operations because their supplies have run out and new supplies have not arrived, leaving some 6,000 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition without treatment.

OCHA said the malnutrition reports came as cholera was spreading in North Darfur. “We and our partners have scaled up our response to cholera, including medical supplies and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) support, which has helped contain the outbreak,” it said. “However, new cases are emerging in remote communities where access to health care is limited.”

UNICEF also reported that more than 1,100 grave violations have been recorded in the city alone since the siege of El Fasher began in April 2024. In particular, more than a thousand children have been killed or maimed.

The number of child victims is almost certainly much higher, given limited access and problems verifying information, the foundation said. –0–
