BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — By continuously improving policies supporting family development, China has strengthened the development capacity of families and created favorable conditions for women to lead more fulfilling family lives, according to a white paper titled "China's Achievements in All-Round Development of Women's Affairs in the New Era" released by the State Council Information Office on Friday.

Laws and regulations, including the Civil Code, the Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests, and the Law on Combating Domestic Violence, were adopted in the country to protect women's rights in marriage and family, the document states.

In addition, marriage counseling services are widely available in China, provided by marriage registration authorities at the county level and above.

BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — As China has built the world's largest social security system, women in the country now enjoy more comprehensive, reliable and equitable social security, according to a white paper titled "China's Achievements in All-Round Development of Women's Affairs in the New Era" released by the State Council Information Office on Friday.

According to the document, China's health insurance and old-age insurance systems have achieved full coverage. By 2024, 651 million women, or 49.1 percent of the total, were covered by basic health insurance.

In addition, 260 million women were covered by the basic pension insurance for rural and non-working urban residents, and 260 million women participated in the basic pension program for urban employees.

Financial News: The All-Russian "Capital of Financial Culture" competition kicks off on September 18.

Contest The competition will be held for the second time. Each region can submit its projects up to and including October 20, 2025.

The competition's goal is to foster financial literacy among citizens across the country and disseminate successful practices. The winning projects will receive informational, expert, and methodological support. The competition is organized by the Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Finance of Russia. Khartoum, September 19 (Xinhua) — More than 75 civilians were killed early Friday morning in a drone strike on a mosque in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur province in western Sudan, volunteer groups reported.

"A strategic drone belonging to the paramilitary Rapid Intervention Forces (RIF) attacked civilians during dawn prayers today (Friday), killing more than 75 people," the Coordination Group of Resistance Committees in El Fasher, a group of local activists, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Abu Shouk IDP camp Ambulance Service in El Fasher, which is also a volunteer group, said in a statement that “20 IDPs from the camp were among the dead.”

Meanwhile, as one eyewitness told Xinhua, "the death toll is rising; more than 75 bodies have already been recovered from the mosque's rubble, with dozens more remaining trapped under the rubble."

BEIJING, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — Promoting women's all-round development is of great significance as a national campaign in China, according to a white paper titled "China's Achievements in All-Round Development of Women's Affairs in the New Era" released Friday by the State Council Information Office.

The document notes that China continues to strengthen institutional support and guarantees for women's interests, which is an integral part of public administration, contributing to the creation of the necessary conditions for the comprehensive development of women.

The White Paper states that China has established a mechanism for work related to women's development, in which CPC committees exercise leadership, governments assume primary responsibility, working committees for children and women play a coordinating role, women's federations cooperate, and relevant departments provide support, with the participation of the whole society.
