Everything is real—reception, reservations, booking, service: students from the State University of Management saw how hoteliers work in real life.

Participants of the "Spectrum of Innovations" accelerator visited the Gochukhino Park Hotel and the Kupets Hotel, both owned by Elinar Holding, the program's industrial partner.

Natalia Murzova, Deputy General Director for Human Resources, Nina Abramova, Director of Public Relations and Social Affairs, and Alena Balueva, Development Manager at the Blagorechye Park Hotel, spoke about the intricacies of hospitality management.

Students discussed a wide range of issues with senior managers, including the intricacies of seasonal capacity planning, key service standards, and the challenges businesses pose to accelerator teams.

But things didn't stop there: the team came up with their own ideas for increasing the hotel complex's productivity. For example, they created a Telegram bot for guests with restaurant menus, a map of the facilities, and a schedule of activities, as well as introducing new leisure and service formats.

Under the supervision of Alena Balueva, the teams will continue working on their projects. On October 23rd, they will present their concepts at the program's midpoint, and the best solutions will be presented at Demo Day, where they will receive expert evaluation and a chance to be brought to life.

The "Spectrum of Innovations" acceleration program launched in September. Its partners help future managers develop their entrepreneurial thinking and explore real-world business challenges.

Bishkek, October 16 (Xinhua) — China has made tremendous progress in its own development over the past five years. This has become an important factor in global stability and progress, former Kyrgyz Ambassador to China Kanaiym Baktygulova said in an interview with Xinhua.

This year marks the final year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025). K. Baktygulova noted that during this period, the country has achieved impressive progress both domestically and internationally.

Among the development achievements China has achieved over the past five years, the former ambassador particularly noted the launch of the Hualong-1 nuclear reactor—a symbol of China's leadership in nuclear energy—the accelerated expansion of renewable energy production capacity, the expansion of 5G network deployment, the introduction of medical robotic systems, and more.

"China has demonstrated a confident combination of economic growth, technological breakthroughs, and environmental responsibility. The country has not only maintained sustainable momentum amid global upheavals but also strengthened its leadership in renewable energy, science, and social protection," she said.

According to K. Baktygulova, over the past five years, despite global instability caused by unilateralism, protectionism, and geopolitical crises, China's economy has continued to play a major role in maintaining global economic stability.

"China's economic achievements have had and continue to have a significant impact on the global order, contributing to global economic growth, technological innovation, and sustainable development. The country continues to play a key role in shaping the future of the global economy and international relations," emphasized K. Baktygulova.

In addition, she said, China has made great efforts to develop large-scale manufacturing, expand global supply chains, strengthen climate cooperation, and build infrastructure and transit corridors, which has contributed to the development of countries in various regions of the world and provided sustainable growth models for many developing countries.

The former ambassador emphasized that, alongside its own development, China actively supports developing countries both within multilateral platforms such as BRICS, the SCO, and APEC, as well as through bilateral mechanisms with countries in Africa, ASEAN, Latin America, and Central Asia. "These efforts are aimed at promoting joint development and strengthening the position of countries in the Global South in global governance," she emphasized.

Next year will be the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). According to K. Baktygulova, during this period, China will become a country that successfully combines economic strength, social well-being, and responsible international leadership.

"China will strive to improve economic resilience, including diversifying its trading partners and reducing its dependence on imported critical materials. This could include developing domestic manufacturing and strengthening domestic capabilities in key technologies," she believes.

K. Baktygulova noted that China will also strengthen its role in scientific and technological innovation by turning it into a driving force for the development of new-quality productive forces and the construction of a modernized industrial system.

“I believe that China will strengthen its position as one of the world’s centers of high-tech manufacturing and the digital economy,” she asserted, adding that China will continue to develop a “green” economy and will achieve success in further reducing the carbon intensity of industry, accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources, developing “smart cities” and green transport.

K. Baktygulova also expects China to make significant strides in the social and scientific spheres. "The country's standard of living will continue to rise, and its education and healthcare systems will improve," she noted. "China will achieve new achievements in space exploration, biotechnology, and medicine."

Furthermore, the former ambassador believes that China will assume a more significant status in international affairs. The country will deepen its participation in shaping a just, multipolar world, advance the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and promote deeper regional integration.

“Personally, during this period, I hope to see China as a dynamically developing power that will strengthen its technological sovereignty, demonstrate sustainable, high-quality economic development with an emphasis on innovation, ecology, and social balance, and play a more key role in the international arena,” she concluded. –0–

Jerusalem, October 16 (Xinhua) — Israel intends to resume military operations in the Gaza Strip unless Hamas demilitarizes and returns the bodies of all hostages it is holding, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday.

"If Hamas refuses to implement the agreement [on a peace settlement in Gaza], Israel, in coordination with the United States, will return to military action to achieve the complete defeat of Hamas, change the reality in Gaza, and achieve all the goals of the war," the statement said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Isaac Katz ordered the army to prepare a "comprehensive plan to defeat Hamas" in case fighting in Gaza resumes.

According to US President Donald Trump's peace plan, Hamas must return the remains of all hostages it holds and disarm, noted I. Katz. Israel, together with US-led international forces, "will work to destroy all tunnels and terrorist infrastructure in Gaza to ensure the demilitarization of Gaza and eliminate any threat to the State of Israel," the defense minister added.

BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) — Rural development in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region is not a simple economic task but a strategic project related to national unity, ethnic cohesion, cultural continuity and ecological security, according to a report released Thursday.

The report, titled “Harmony between Tradition and Modernity: Rural Development and Cultural Heritage in China’s Xizang,” was jointly published in Chinese and English by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with the Xinhua News Agency.

It notes that the practical significance of rural development in Xijiang lies in implementing the concept of human rights-oriented development, activating the genes of cultural heritage, and building a strong national security shield.

According to the report, in Xizang, 80 percent of intangible cultural heritage sites are located in rural areas, and 90 percent of intangible cultural heritage beneficiaries are farmers and livestock breeders.

Border villages are not only evidence of internal security protection, but also a clear example of the saying, “To govern a country, one must control the borders, and to control the borders, one must ensure stability in Xijiang,” the report notes.

By the end of 2024, the total number of permanent residents in Xizang reached 3.7 million, with approximately 60 percent of them living in rural areas. Across Xizang, more than 5,600 villages and towns are located within an area of over 1.2 million square kilometers.

The founding of the Xizang Autonomous Region in September 1965 marked a turning point in the region's development. The region, along with other regions across the country, triumphed in the fight against poverty, achieved the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and embarked on a new journey toward the comprehensive construction of a modernized socialist state.

CARACAS, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) — Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil on Wednesday condemned the United States' "militarization" of the Caribbean Sea, which has left at least 27 civilians dead.

“We emphasize that the militarization of our coastlines is not justified in any way,” said I. Khil, speaking at the interim ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, held in Uganda.

I. Gil condemned recent US missile strikes on ships in the region, calling them "extrajudicial executions," the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"These are deliberate killings committed in international waters thousands of kilometers from the US coast, as a result of actions that violate all norms of international law," said I. Khil. According to him, at least 27 civilians have died to date.

He added that behind the US position on Venezuela are “old ambitions: to carry out its already failed plan for regime change to seize control of the country’s resources.”

“We must break the chains with which they intend to shackle our peoples and, through criminal, unilateral coercive measures and blockades, bring our countries to their knees,” I. Khil emphasized.

On his Telegram page, the minister also noted that at the meeting in Uganda, he witnessed “deep solidarity” among key allied countries “in the face of a military threat in the Caribbean that poses a serious risk to peace.” –0–

Dmitry Grigorenko: The "Tax Deduction" life situation has been launched on the government services portal.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

A new "Tax Deduction" feature has been launched on the government services portal. It helps you apply for popular tax deductions without leaving the portal. The service guides you through the application process step by step and provides comprehensive information on the available tax deductions. This feature is part of the federal project "A State for the People," overseen by Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko.

A tax deduction allows you to reduce your taxable income and, as a result, lower your personal income tax bill. It can be used to reclaim a portion of already paid taxes, for example, on your salary, or to reduce the amount of tax payable to the budget for certain transactions, such as the sale of real estate.

"The new tax deduction service operates on a principle that applies to all life situations—it's a comprehensive solution for a person's needs: quickly, without visiting government agencies or collecting unnecessary documents. Personal data already in government systems is entered automatically. The "Tax Deduction" life situation was launched on the government services portal to help people complete all the necessary steps sequentially, following a clear algorithm, without switching from the portal to third-party resources," said Dmitry Grigorenko.

This new life situation allows you to simplify the tax deduction process and reduce the risk of sharing your information with untrustworthy organizations that may provide tax return filing services.

The service also helps citizens determine what type of tax deduction they are eligible for. For example, if they incurred expenses for medical treatment, education, or sports during the year, they can apply for a social tax deduction.

Citizens who sold or bought residential real estate apply for a property tax deduction.

People who contributed to a long-term savings program, a non-state pension plan, or opened an individual investment account can claim a deduction for long-term savings.

Taxpayers with children, as well as privileged categories of citizens, receive standard tax deductions.

The service is available in the life situation catalog on the main page of the government services portal. The catalog includes 38 federal life situations. Each of them combines an average of 17 government services related to a single topic: university admissions, large families, retirement, and many others. An additional 32 federal life situations are planned to be launched by the end of 2025.
