Jerusalem, October 18 (Xinhua) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) received a coffin containing the body of an unidentified Israeli hostage held in Gaza from the Red Cross, the IDF said in a statement released Saturday morning.

On social media, the Israeli army wrote that the coffin, accompanied by IDF soldiers, was delivered to Israel and was being sent to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv for identification.

The IDF called on the public to "be sensitive and await the results of the official identification, which will first be communicated to the families of the deceased hostages."

This is the 10th body of an Israeli hostage handed over by Hamas this week. Under the first phase of the peace plan, the group is required to return 28 bodies.

On Monday, Hamas released the 20 surviving Israeli hostages held in Gaza for two years. –0–

HANGZHOU, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — Four Chinese villages have been named among the "Top Tourism Villages" by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), it was announced at the UN Tourism Awards ceremony in Huzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Friday.

The list included four villages: Huanggang in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture (Guizhou Province, southwest China); Jikayi in Ganzi Tibet Autonomous Prefecture (Sichuan Province, southwest China); Donluo, administratively under Taizhou City (Jiangsu Province, east China); and Digang, administratively under Huzhou City.

This brings the number of UN Tourism's "best tourism villages" in China to 19.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, who is responsible for the award submission process, the four villages included in this year's list reflect the comprehensive and diversified development of China's rural tourism sector. UN Tourism's continued recognition of China's rural tourism destinations demonstrates the exemplary performance of the domestic rural tourism industry and global recognition of the radical changes taking place in the country's rural areas.

The four new villages included on this year's list are distinguished by both their ecological environment and their unique cultural heritage. Huanggang, for example, boasts an 85 percent forest cover rate and an 800-year history of the vibrant culture of the Dong ethnic group. Jikayi, located on a high plateau, is renowned for its biodiversity and multi-ethnic heritage, including the Tibetan, Qiang, and Yi ethnic groups.

Dongluo has not only preserved the beauty of its waterways but also the original layout of the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and ancient agricultural practices. Dingang, with a history of approximately 2,500 years, is well known for its picturesque landscapes and world-class cultural heritage.

Wang Yuanfeng, vice chairman of the China Society for Development Strategy Research and director of the Carbon Neutrality Technology and Strategy Research Center at Beijing Jiaotong University, published an article in Huanqiu Shibao on October 15, outlining the achievements made in the five years since China put forward its "two carbon targets" (peaking carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060).

He believes that, firstly, people's confidence in green and low-carbon development has increased significantly thanks to the results achieved in the five years since the announcement of the "two carbon goals".

When China committed to these goals in 2020, many around the world believed they would be extremely difficult to achieve. Five years later, China has demonstrated significant progress in green and low-carbon development, exceeding all expectations. This demonstrates that China is fully capable of achieving its goals.

Secondly, over the past five years, China has harnessed the opportunities of the new energy and industrial revolutions to ensure stable socioeconomic development. Moreover, its green and low-carbon development has been largely achieved through domestic innovation.

Third, the five-year experience has laid the foundation for China's future development and made a significant contribution to global development. It is important to understand that the ongoing new energy revolution and industrial transformation are crucial not only for China's current and immediate socio-economic development, but also for its long-term future and for global development.

In a recent article, the British newspaper Financial Times called China the world's first major "electric powerhouse." This term is relative to traditional "petro-states." While most countries have relied heavily on traditional fossil fuels like oil for their development, China is becoming the first major power to base its economy on electricity.

Ultimately, China's efforts have made a significant contribution to global low-carbon development. Many countries and regions around the world have benefited from the spread of Chinese new-energy vehicles and other clean technologies.

Furthermore, amidst the high uncertainty surrounding climate change and global governance, China has made it clear that, regardless of changes in the international situation, China's proactive response to climate change will not slow down, its efforts to promote international cooperation will not weaken, and its work to build a community with a shared future for humanity will not cease. This has undoubtedly provided strong impetus for global green and low-carbon development.

Lixian County, Gansu Province, is a well-known base in China for producing high-quality fruits, especially apples.

Initially, there were only scattered plantings here, but now, at the foot of Mount Dabaozi, along the Xihanshui River and its tributaries, a 60-kilometer-long "apple gallery" has formed. The area of apple orchards throughout the county has reached 610,000 mu (approximately 40,700 hectares), benefiting over 200,000 residents from 14 townships and villages, becoming a key industry for improving local livelihoods.

By 2025, the county's total apple production is expected to exceed 600,000 tons, and the gross value of the entire production chain could reach 5 billion yuan. An apple-based industry chain provides a powerful impetus for rural development.

A new kind of tourism is emerging in China. It attracts people not with centuries-old history or magnificent nature, but with bold fantasies about the future.

Science fiction allows tourism to no longer be limited by physical distance. For example, when tourists arrive at the "Mars Camp" in Lenghu (Qinghai Province), psychologically they arrive not in the Tsaidam Basin, but on the Red Planet—Mars.

The rise of science fiction tourism is closely linked to the preferences of the younger generation. They have their own favorite science fiction stories and enjoy sharing unique experiences on social media.

Recognizing this trend, Beijing's Shougang Park launched the "Science Fiction Exploration" project, and Universal Studios Beijing opened a "Future Waterworld" zone. These projects have already gained popularity among young people.
