The company announced the results of the "Best Mentor 2025" corporate competition. This year, a record 13,858 mentors from 101 subsidiaries participated. Based on the results of the competitive selection, 40 of Rosneft's best mentors and 16 subsidiaries—the leaders of the corporate integrated rating—were identified.

Rosneft's mentoring system is an important tool for accumulating and sharing professional knowledge, skills, and experience, and for engaging young workers and specialists in the corporate culture.

The competition is held annually in two stages. During the selection stage, the best mentors—226 blue-collar mentors and 241 young professional mentors—were identified at the companies. During the second stage, a ranking of the best mentors was compiled, taking into account each competitor's performance assessment.

The effectiveness of the mentoring system in subsidiaries was assessed based on a set of criteria in six business areas: Exploration and Production, Oil Refining and Petrochemicals, Internal Services, Corporate Services, Petroleum Product Supply, and Shipbuilding and Ship Repair.

A gala awards ceremony for the competition finalists was held in Moscow. They also participated in training on the use of artificial intelligence tools, mentoring skills, teamwork, and the exchange of best current practices.

Mentoring is the foundation for the transfer of professional experience, adaptation, and retention of young employees in the workplace. Mentors help recent graduates take their first steps in the profession and set a personal example of responsible work ethic. Furthermore, by teaching young people, mentors also hone their own professional and management skills.

Rosneft's enterprises implement comprehensive programs that combine the development of expert competencies and the development of teamwork skills. They actively utilize the resources of corporate training centers, equipped with modern methodological facilities and training grounds.

The company pays special attention to working with young professionals who participate in research activities with the support of experienced mentors. The Zvezda Shipyard held a ceremony to hand over the first Russian-built LNG carrier to its customer, PAO Sovcomflot. The ARC 7 icebreaking tanker, "Alexey Kosygin," is the lead vessel in the series being built by Zvezda Shipyard for the Arctic LNG 2 project. The vessel is named after Alexey Kosygin, a prominent Soviet politician and statesman, twice Hero of Socialist Labor. Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the naming ceremony.

The Zvezda Shipyard is a pioneer in the construction of technologically sophisticated civilian vessels. The facility, located in the town of Bolshoy Kamen in Primorsky Krai, is being established at the request of the President of Russia, with Rosneft serving as the project operator. The construction of LNG carriers at the Zvezda Shipyard not only strengthens the country's shipbuilding capacity but also makes a significant contribution to the strategic goals of import substitution, ensuring Russia's technological independence in the development of critical Arctic infrastructure.

The production of such gas carriers requires a large amount of research and development work, the use of innovative technologies and unique equipment, and the involvement of highly qualified personnel.

The LNG carriers in this series boast a high ice class and are capable of operating in Arctic conditions, independently breaking through ice thicker than two meters. Each tanker holds over 172,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas and is equipped with unique rudder-propeller units, also manufactured at the Zvezda Shipyard by the Sapphire plant. The vessel is 300 meters long, 48.8 meters wide, and has a deadweight of 81,000 tons. Its propulsion system has a capacity of 60 MW.

The Alexey Kosygin was built and launched using a dry dock—a unique hydraulic structure, one of the largest in the world. Its dimensions are 485 x 114 x 14 meters. The dry dock's technical parameters, for the first time in Russia, allow for the construction of most existing and future vessel types with a displacement of up to 350,000 tons.

The tanker successfully completed sea trials. Specialists from Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex conducted gas tests on a vessel for the first time in the Far East.

Zvezda Shipyard is Russia's first large-tonnage shipyard, specializing in the production of ice-class vessels, vessels with a displacement of up to 350,000 tons, specialty vessels, and other types of marine equipment. The shipyard's order book includes approximately 60 vessels.

From 2020 to 2025, the shipyard has already delivered seven vessels to customers, including Aframax oil tankers with a deadweight of 114,000 tons.

Rosneft improves energy efficiency at production facilities

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Rosneft energy workers celebrate their professional holiday with new production achievements.

Improving the efficiency of production assets is a key element of Rosneft's strategy. In 2025, the Company's enterprises implemented more than 42,000 energy-saving measures, reducing energy consumption by 317,000 tons of fuel equivalent, amounting to over 7.8 billion rubles.

This result was achieved through a systematic approach to the efficient use of energy resources at all stages—from well drilling to outdoor lighting at production facilities. Thanks to the high level of expertise of specialists, the energy management system at Rosneft's production facilities is constantly being improved.

The main contribution to improving energy efficiency and ensuring the reliability of power supply to production facilities is made by activities at the Company's exploration and production enterprises.

Udmurtneft, Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, Verkhnechonskneftegaz, Vostsibneftegaz, and RN-Krasnodarneftegaz achieved high energy efficiency indicators by optimizing their mechanized equipment, implementing higher-efficiency pumps, energy-efficient motors and electric heating thermostats, and installing automatic lighting controls. Samotlorneftegaz implemented 1,900 measures, saving approximately 230 million kWh. The economic impact exceeded 1.1 billion rubles.

Power engineers at the Company's oil refining and petrochemical complex—the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery, the Novokuibyshevsk Petrochemical Company, the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery, and the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery—have reduced energy consumption by modernizing production, optimizing technological processes, and introducing energy-efficient equipment.

In 2025, Rosneft's research and development team met the Company's needs for energy facility design, advanced power supply schemes, and engineering services. They designed over 615 km of 35-220 kV overhead power lines, electrical substations with a total capacity of 370 MVA, and thermal generation facilities with a total capacity of 13 MW. Conceptual design solutions were developed for the construction of unified modular power plants based on domestically produced gas turbine units with unit capacities ranging from 6 to 25 MW. A key project was the construction of Russia's largest oil pumping station, which includes power supply for over 1,000 electrical receivers, cable lines, and overpasses with a total length of 1,500 km.

To meet growing energy demands, new power facilities were commissioned at the Company's new fields in 2025. They are equipped with modern Russian-made equipment, adapted for uninterrupted operation in harsh climates. Automation also reduces the need for personnel.

Thus, Bashneft launched the first 110 kV digital substation, Mirnaya, in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Samotlorneftegaz launched a new 110/35/6 kV substation with a capacity of 40 MVA. Tyumenneftegaz commissioned the 110 kV PSP Zapolyarnaya substation at the Russkoye field, with an installed capacity of 2×16 MVA, and a boiler house with an installed capacity of 232 MW. RN-Vankor commissioned a new 110 kV Tagul substation, and RN-Uvatneftegaz commissioned two new highly automated mobile 110 kV substations and a 35 kV substation. Udmurtneft launched a two-transformer 35 kV substation. Vostsibneftegaz commissioned two electrical substations at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field.

Reliable and efficient operation of the electric power industry is the basis for the progressive development of the country's economy.

Congratulations to our colleagues on Power Engineer's Day!
