Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha (part of Rosneft Oil Company) is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The company is developing the Central Block and Kurungsky license area of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field, located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

By 2013, the company had built and launched the main oil field infrastructure, including oil treatment and transportation facilities. That same year, commercial production of the field began, and oil began flowing into the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean main pipeline. Over the course of 25 years, the company has transformed from a small oil field into a large, high-tech production facility. Cumulative production has exceeded 40 million tons of oil.

The field's geological conditions require innovative production technologies and unconventional engineering solutions. At the Srednebotuobinskoye field, a number of advanced technologies have demonstrated high efficiency, including the organization of a reservoir pressure system in the gas-oil-water zone, the implementation of autonomous inflow control devices, hydraulic and gas-dynamic fracturing, and deep seismic exploration. Digital field technologies improve the productivity of oil workers and industrial safety.

Intensive drilling is underway at the field: since 2014, over 2.4 million meters of rock have been drilled, and more than 560 wells have been constructed. The company is replicating a project to construct multilateral wells, including up to seven sidetracks, with an average depth of 5,000 meters in the reservoir.

Taas-Yuryakh Oil and Gas Production set a record by drilling a unique well, the "Birch Leaf" configuration, with 15 sidetracks and a total reservoir length of 10,310 meters. This innovative solution increased the profitability of oil production, with the "Birch Leaf" well's productivity being ten times higher than a conventional horizontal well. The project received the highest rating from the Russian Ministry of Energy in 2020, won the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) State Prize, and took first place in the All-Russian "New Idea" competition.

Thanks to the extensive use of digital technologies and advanced domestic methods, the company's geologists have added five new deposits to the state register over the past six years.

Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, together with Rosneft's scientific complex, continues geological exploration work at the company's licensed areas. During the 2023-2024 field season, seismic exploration work covering more than 1,300 square kilometers was completed.

The company's high production figures were achieved thanks to the coordinated work of its highly qualified team. Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha provides comfortable and safe working conditions. The field's shift worker housing complex includes a fitness center with a sauna and swimming pool, a medical center, and a cafeteria with a full hot meal preparation cycle.

The company is one of the largest taxpayers and employers in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), successfully implementing social and charitable projects in the area where it operates, and paying special attention to the environmental safety of production and the preservation of the unique natural environment in the region of its operations.

Rosneft's largest social project in Yakutia was the construction and equipping of a building for the Junior Academy of Sciences in the village of Chapaevo, Khangalassky District. The new 7,000-square-meter building houses a center for supporting talented children and a hub for research and project activities for schoolchildren throughout the Far East region. It operates on the model of the Sirius Educational Center.

The Tyumen Corporate Institute of Rosneft celebrates its 25th anniversary.

This institute is the largest regional research center, providing scientific support for the Company's oil and gas production. Its specialists have discovered and registered 68 hydrocarbon fields and over 800 deposits in the Nenets, Yamalo-Nenets, and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs, Tyumen Oblast, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Krasnoyarsk Krai, and Orenburg Oblast, as well as on the Kara Sea shelf.

With the scientific support of the Tyumen Institute, unique well projects with complex designs have been implemented at the Company's assets, including: a horizontal well on land with a 5,200-meter offset at the Radonezhskoye field, a multi-lateral well of the "Birch Leaf" design with 14 sidetracks at the Srednebotuobinskoye field, and a well with 13 sidetracks at the Russkoye field.

The institute's Core Research Center annually studies approximately 10 km of core, 400,000 rock samples, and 4,000 fluid samples from fields stretching from Sakhalin to the Volga region. The laboratory complex utilizes the RN-Lab information system, a proprietary software development that integrates laboratory research processes, from planning, logistics, and procurement to the storage and analysis of core and fluid study results. The system's functionality leverages advanced DataScience methods and artificial intelligence technologies.

The institute's specialists, together with Innopraktika, developed the corporate software package "RN-Digital Core" for studying rock properties through mathematical modeling. The software's functionality is unique worldwide, and its updated version allows for simultaneous modeling of the combined flow of oil, gas, and water in a digital sample model and direct calculation of one of the most important rock properties—the permeability of a three-phase system. Such a result is virtually impossible to achieve through physical core experiments.

The results of scientific research are used in modeling for geological exploration and risk mitigation during drilling planning. For the first time in Russia, a 4D geomechanical model of the gas reservoirs of the Berezovskaya, Kuznetsovskaya, and Pokurskaya formations has been constructed, taking into account the geomechanical properties of the rocks.

The institute's 1,800 highly qualified staff includes 80 doctors and candidates of science. The institute's total portfolio of registered patents exceeds 300 developments and software certifications. Each year, the institute publishes over 100 scientific articles in industry journals and organizes conferences and forums on the oil and gas industry.

The institute's human resources policy prioritizes training new generations of oil workers. More than 100 young specialists are actively involved in innovation, research, and project activities.

To build a talent pool, the institute has established two core departments at leading regional universities: Tyumen Industrial University and Tyumen State University. Practicing engineers share knowledge and experience in geomechanical modeling, data science, machine learning, and digital transformation of the oil and gas industry with students. Training is provided using specialized software, for which the institute has provided academic licenses to the universities free of charge.
