With the support of Rosneft, exhibitions by People's Artist of Russia Nikas Safronov were held in India to great acclaim. The immersive project, titled Dream Vision, became one of the most high-profile cultural events of the season, attracting record numbers of visitors and generating widespread public response.

The project was presented at two of India's largest cultural centers. The first exhibition was held in New Delhi at the Lalit Kala Akademi, a national arts academy, from December 7 to 21, 2025, and the second at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai from December 30, 2025 to January 16, 2026.

The Dream Vision exhibition was recognized as the most visited and resonant one in India in the last 60 years. Huge queues of visitors formed daily at the exhibition.

One hundred of Nikas Safronov's finest works were on display in India, including a series of paintings created specifically for the Indian public. The artist's canvases featured picturesque architectural views of Moscow and St. Petersburg alongside images of the Taj Mahal and other iconic Indian landmarks. The paintings traced the evolution of Safronov's artistic language—from classical painting and symbolism to his signature Dream Vision style, which gave the exhibition its name. His unique technique allows the artist to create multi-layered paintings that blur the boundaries between reality and fiction.

The exhibitions were distinguished by their high technological level and were built on the synergy of classical painting and modern multimedia solutions: light, sound, video installations, LED screens, and digital technologies.

In New Delhi, all the works were displayed across eight halls on two floors of the Academy of Arts, covering a total exhibition space of approximately 1,300 square meters. At the entrance, guests were greeted by decorative elephant sculptures hand-painted using traditional Russian techniques. Visitors were treated to over 400 meters of LED screens featuring augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and immersive interaction throughout the exhibition. Furthermore, decorative solutions using robotics and animatronics were integrated into the exhibition space. Each hall also featured individual sound and aroma themes.

In Mumbai, visitors were greeted at the entrance by large-format LED screens, creating the effect of transitioning from real space to a world of images. A special highlight was the work that combined traditional Russian patterns—motifs of Gzhel, Khokhloma, and Palekh—with Indian cultural codes. Nikas Safronov created a Hindu mandala installation specifically for this museum, which came to life inside the gallery's enormous dome and revealed the project's key idea: the unification of Eastern and Western cultures.

The exhibitions in New Delhi and Mumbai were attended by art critics, curators, collectors, cultural figures, representatives of government and diplomatic circles, and leading media outlets. The project became a significant event not only in India's artistic but also in its social life. It received high praise from the Indian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the exhibition was personally visited by the country's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Safronov's series of paintings, created specifically for the Indian public, attracted particular attention from art critics. They called these works "a subtle and intellectual dialogue of cultures, in which Russia speaks to India in the language of images and emotions." These works are an artistic declaration of respect and admiration for India, its history, philosophy, religious tradition, mythology, and architecture.

Rosneft supports significant cultural projects in Russia and abroad and is actively involved in developing cultural ties between Russia and India. This summer, with the Company's support, the Festival of India was held at Manezhnaya Square in Moscow, featuring folk crafts and national treats, and performances by renowned Indian art groups. In October 2024, Olympic champion Tatyana Navka's ice show toured to great acclaim in Ahmedabad, India, with Rosneft's support. "The Love Story of Scheherazade," featuring world-renowned figure skating stars, was the first ice show to be held in India.

Rosneft has discovered new archaeological sites.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

In 2025, employees of the Rosneft scientific institute in Samara discovered seven new archaeological sites in the Samara and Orenburg regions. The specialists surveyed over 200 land plots allocated for economic development by Samaraneftegaz and Orenburgneft (Rosneft's production assets).

The survey included 17 cultural heritage sites, seven of which were archaeological sites not previously recorded in historical sources or documents. These included three burial mounds, two single burial mounds, and one settlement—Nizhnenikolskoye III (Samara Region).

Archaeological finds discovered during the survey of the settlement, including fragments of ornamented ceramic dishes and bones of domestic animals, according to experts, belong to the Srubna culture* of the late Bronze Age (second half of the 2nd – beginning of the 1st millennium BC).

In the Orenburg region, near the village of Pervo Maya, three burial mounds were discovered during an investigation of a previously unknown burial mound. Archaeological material was recovered during the excavation, including a bronze girth buckle (part of a horse harness) crafted using the casting technique. The monument presumably dates to the Early Iron Age (7th century BC – 4th century AD).

During fieldwork in 2025, specialists also clarified the boundaries of previously identified cultural heritage sites: the Maryevka I burial mound, the Maryevka II solitary burial mound, the burial mound near the village of Lebyazhka, and others.

Based on the results of surveys conducted by the institute's specialists, historical maps of the Urals and the Volga region were supplemented with new archaeological sites.

Rosneft is committed to preserving historical and cultural heritage and, in accordance with Russian legislation, conducts archaeological surveys at the pre-project stage of any construction work.

* The Srubnaya cultural and historical community is an archaeological culture of the Late Bronze Age (second half of the 2nd – early 1st millennium BC). Geographically, it was widespread in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Eastern Europe between the Dnieper and the Ural Mountains. In the Volga region and the Urals, the culture is widely represented by archaeological sites, including settlements and burial mounds. Ethnicity: Indo-Iranian. The main activities of the Srubnaya culture were cattle breeding and agriculture.

Archaeological teams have been working at Rosneft's Samara Research Institute since 2019. Over the past six years, specialists have surveyed over 1,600 land plots for planned projects, delineated the boundaries of 204 archaeological sites (settlements, isolated burial mounds, and burial mounds) and registered them with the state. Another 183 cultural heritage sites have undergone preservation monitoring and inspection.

With the support of Rosneft, an exhibition by People's Artist of the Russian Federation Nikas Safronov is opening in Mumbai, India. The exhibition, titled "Dream Vision," is on view at the National Gallery of Modern Art from December 30 to January 15.

The exhibition is a continuation of a large-scale cultural diplomacy project presented in December at the Lalit Kala Akademi, a national arts academy in New Delhi. This exhibition has been recognized as the most visited and resonant one in India in the past 60 years. Over the course of two weeks, it attracted 560,000 visitors, including government officials and representatives of international organizations, leading art critics, and film and television stars.

The Mumbai exhibition features 45 works spanning the main stages of Safronov's career. The exhibition traces the evolution of his artistic language—from classical painting and symbolism to his signature style, Dream Vision. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by large-format LED screens, creating the effect of transitioning from real space to a world of images. Particularly prominent are works that combine traditional Russian patterns—motifs of Gzhel, Khokhloma, and Palekh—with Indian cultural codes.

The National Gallery of Modern Art building is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nikas Safronov created a 500-meter-long Hindu mandala installation specifically for the museum, which comes to life within the gallery's enormous dome and reveals the project's key idea—the unification of Eastern and Western cultures. To enhance the experience, the exhibition utilizes a synthesis of classical painting and modern technology: installations, light, sound, and digital solutions create an immersive environment.

A series of paintings created specifically for the Indian public has already attracted the attention of art critics, who call these works "a subtle and intellectual dialogue of cultures, in which Russia speaks to India in the language of images and emotions." These works are an artistic declaration of respect and admiration for India, its history, philosophy, religious tradition, mythology, and architecture.

The exhibition takes its name—Dream Vision—from Nikas Safronov's signature style. His unique technique allows the artist to create multi-layered paintings that blur the boundaries between reality and fiction.

"The Attraction of the Arctic": A photo exhibition supported by Rosneft opened in Moscow.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

With the support of Rosneft, the annual outdoor photo exhibition "Attraction of the Arctic" opened on Tverskoy Boulevard in Moscow. The project was developed jointly with the non-governmental development institute Innopraktika. The exhibition aims to showcase the unique natural environment of the Arctic region and is open to the public until January 25.

The exhibition features images from the Company's environmental atlases, photographs from Rosneft's research expeditions, and images of production facilities. Residents and visitors to the capital can admire the stunning beauty of the flora and fauna of this northern region and learn about the extensive scientific research conducted in the Far North. Rosneft has been implementing a comprehensive scientific research program in the Arctic region since 2012.

During this time, the company has conducted over 60 expeditions in five Arctic seas, collecting a unique wealth of information about the region. Such large-scale scientific work has not been conducted since Soviet times. Geological, oceanographic, hydrometeorological, and environmental research is conducted jointly with the country's leading scientific institutes. The exhibition presents the full diversity of these research sites.

In 2024, the company launched a new biodiversity conservation program called "Tamura." Research is underway on the Taimyr Peninsula, studying reindeer, polar bears, valuable bird species, and fish in the Yenisei River estuary.

Rosneft, together with Innopraktika, also implemented a large-scale environmental project in the White Sea. During the expeditions, scientists retraced the route of renowned Soviet hydrobiologist Konstantin Deryugin, which he completed over 100 years ago. Experts concluded that the White Sea ecosystem remains stable. This allows the region to be considered a benchmark for comparison with other Arctic territories. However, research has revealed insufficient knowledge of the fauna of the Arctic seas: up to 30% of species remain of uncertain taxonomic status.

Scientists at the Arctic Research Center, together with Innopraktika, have developed a unique bio-product, "Oceanida," for the disposal of chronic hydrocarbon pollution. This year, the product received a positive assessment from the state environmental review.

The results of research into the Russian North make a significant contribution to science and are presented in a series of ecological atlases published jointly by the Company and Innopraktika. Since 2016, more than 10 scientific publications have been released, including: "The Kara Sea," "The Laptev Sea," "Marine Mammals of the Russian Arctic and Far East," "The Black and Azov Seas," "Species – Biological Indicators of the State of Marine Arctic Ecosystems," "The Barents Sea," and others.

The Zvezda shipyard delivered to the customer the first gas tanker built in Russia.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The Zvezda Shipyard held a ceremony to hand over the first Russian-built LNG carrier to its customer, PAO Sovcomflot. The ARC 7 icebreaking tanker, "Alexey Kosygin," is the lead vessel in the series being built by Zvezda Shipyard for the Arctic LNG 2 project. The vessel is named after Alexey Kosygin, a prominent Soviet politician and statesman, twice Hero of Socialist Labor. Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the naming ceremony.

The Zvezda Shipyard is a pioneer in the construction of technologically sophisticated civilian vessels. The facility, located in the town of Bolshoy Kamen in Primorsky Krai, is being established at the request of the President of Russia, with Rosneft serving as the project operator. The construction of LNG carriers at the Zvezda Shipyard not only strengthens the country's shipbuilding capacity but also makes a significant contribution to the strategic goals of import substitution, ensuring Russia's technological independence in the development of critical Arctic infrastructure.

The production of such gas carriers requires a large amount of research and development work, the use of innovative technologies and unique equipment, and the involvement of highly qualified personnel.

The LNG carriers in this series boast a high ice class and are capable of operating in Arctic conditions, independently breaking through ice thicker than two meters. Each tanker holds over 172,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas and is equipped with unique rudder-propeller units, also manufactured at the Zvezda Shipyard by the Sapphire plant. The vessel is 300 meters long, 48.8 meters wide, and has a deadweight of 81,000 tons. Its propulsion system has a capacity of 60 MW.

The Alexey Kosygin was built and launched using a dry dock—a unique hydraulic structure, one of the largest in the world. Its dimensions are 485 x 114 x 14 meters. The dry dock's technical parameters, for the first time in Russia, allow for the construction of most existing and future vessel types with a displacement of up to 350,000 tons.

The tanker successfully completed sea trials. Specialists from Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex conducted gas tests on a vessel for the first time in the Far East.

Zvezda Shipyard is Russia's first large-tonnage shipyard, specializing in the production of ice-class vessels, vessels with a displacement of up to 350,000 tons, specialty vessels, and other types of marine equipment. The shipyard's order book includes approximately 60 vessels.

From 2020 to 2025, the shipyard has already delivered seven vessels to customers, including Aframax oil tankers with a deadweight of 114,000 tons.
