In the run-up to Oil and Gas Industry Workers' Day, employees of Rosneft enterprises are opening new infrastructure facilities and holding socially significant events in most regions of Russia. Residents of the regions where the Company operates are also actively participating in educational, environmental, cultural and sports events for oil workers.
In the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the city of Blagoveshchensk, with the support of Bashneft, a large sports and recreation complex with a total area of over 4.5 thousand square meters with a four-lane swimming pool was opened. The complex is designed for 550 visits per day. In the Tyumen Region, RN-Uvatneftegaz employees equipped a multifunctional sports ground in the Turtas school of the Uvatsky district.
Following Rosneft’s priorities in the area of environmental protection and preserving biodiversity for future generations, employees of the Company’s enterprises conduct environmental campaigns in the regions where they operate.
Employees of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha held an environmental campaign in Yakutsk on the territory of the Druzhba Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve, and also took part in the restoration of a merchant's house, which is an example of the Siberian Baroque style.
In Yamal, RN-Purneftegaz volunteers planted rowan and lilac alleys on the city square and in front of the children's library in Gubkinsky. Industry veterans, company employees, as well as Rosneft-class schoolchildren and activists of the youth Movement of the First took part in the event.
Samotlorneftegaz organized a joint event for three generations of city residents in Nizhnevartovsk in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. Its participants planted a memorial alley at the memorial complex "The First Exploration Well of Samotlor R-1". Students of the Rosneft Class and participants of the youth "Movement of the First", as well as industry veterans, helped the oil workers plant firs. On the main square of Nizhnevartovsk, the oil workers held a city holiday concert.
In Nefteyugansk, RN-Yuganskneftegaz organized a creative competition called "Oil Professions" for its employees, students of "Rosneft-classes", activists of the "Movement of the First" and pupils of the city Social Center. In addition, oil workers organized amateur distance competitions "Veloavgust" for everyone. During the month, participants recorded the results of their cycling training. On Oil Worker's Day, the winners will be determined and memorable awards will be presented.
Employees of the Ryazan Oil Refinery Company and Ryazannefteprodukt planted shrubs and perennials in a park in the Zheleznodorozhny district of Ryazan, which was revived with the support of oil workers. Veterans of the Ryazan Oil Refinery Company, volunteers and young residents of the city joined the action.
In the city of Syzran in the Samara Region, workers of the Syzran Oil Refinery planted 80 linden trees in memory of the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War. The enterprise also organized the traditional environmental site "With Care for Nature". Volunteers told young fellow countrymen about the animals under the care of Rosneft and held a creative master class.
Sports and commitment to a healthy lifestyle are an integral part of the professional holiday – from a friendly tug-of-war tournament among employees of Sakhalinmorneftegaz-Shelf on Sakhalin to beach volleyball in Gubkinsky among teams of the enterprises RN-Purneftegaz, Kharampurneftegaz, SevKomNeftegaz, and Purneftepererabotka. The oil workers demonstrated fortitude and team cohesion.
Employees of Rosneft subsidiaries in Krasnoyarsk Krai – RN-Vankor, Vostsibneftegaz, Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz, service and logistics enterprises – took part in the track and field race in Krasnoyarsk. For the first time, children of oil workers competed in the race. More than 150 young athletes aged 2 to 14 ran distances from 200 m to 1 km.
Sports competitions were held for the professional holiday by employees of a number of Rosneft enterprises in other regions – Udmurtneft in the Udmurt Republic, RN-Nyaganneftegaz in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra. Corporate sports tournaments were also held at oil fields: Vostsibneftegaz held them at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field in Krasnoyarsk Krai, and Tyumenneftegaz – at Russkoye in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
In the Irkutsk region, about 200 employees of the Angarsk Petrochemical Company and representatives of other Rosneft enterprises of the Angarsk production site took part in a running festival, the route of which ran along the shore of the deepest lake in the world – Lake Baikal.
In the Khabarovsk Territory, in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Komsomolsk Oil Refinery organized a large-scale track and field race, and for the future shift – high school students from all over the Far East – the plant organized a career guidance tour. The children visited the enterprise and the plant museum, and learned first-hand about the profession of an oil worker.
Achinsk Oil Refinery held a family holiday for residents of the Privokzalny District of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai. With the participation of the plant, this largest residential area of the city was built 50 years ago. The oil refiners prepared a festive program for the city residents with sports competitions and performances by creative groups.
The workers of Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery held a family health festival "One Family – One Team". The festival united families of oil workers, industry veterans and residents of Novokuibyshevsk. The festival included creative workshops, family living rooms, and a sports quest with elements of the patriotic game "Zarnitsa".
Rospan International held a thematic intellectual tournament, in which 15 teams of fuel and energy companies of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug demonstrated their knowledge of the history of Novy Urengoy, which is turning 50 years old. The city grew up in the middle of the tundra and in a short time won the status of the gas capital of Russia.
The Rosneft Research and Design Institute in Tomsk held a thematic quiz on knowledge of various aspects of the oil industry – from history to modern trends.
Preservation of the culture of the indigenous peoples of the North and their traditional way of life is one of the significant areas of Rosneft's social policy. With the support of Kharampurneftegaz, competitions in national sports were held in the village of Kharampur in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The program included traditional competitions of the Forest Nenets – jumping over sleds, throwing a tynzyan on a khorey, and tug-of-war. A friendly football match was held between teams of oil workers and village residents.
In Yakutia, with the support of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, an ethnic festival was held at the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field. Oil workers got acquainted with the culture of the indigenous peoples of the North, the creativity of ethnic groups.
Cultural and patriotic events added to the atmosphere of the professional holiday. In Nyagan (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra), veterans and young specialists honored the memory of pioneering oil workers, in Tomsk (Tomsk Region) a collective viewing of a popular science film about the professions of the industry took place, and a solemn ceremony of initiation into oil workers took place at the corporate scientific institute in Tyumen.
Samotlorneftegaz is organizing a visit to the play "Nizhnevartovsk. Oil Heart" for its employees and veteran oil workers, created at the Youth Theater with the support of the enterprise for the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the legendary field. The play tells the story of how the development of the Samotlor field and the construction of the city began.
The events organized by Rosneft enterprises in honor of Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day clearly demonstrate that the modern oil industry is not only oil and gas production and modern technologies, but also a corporate culture focused on high social responsibility, concern for the environment, support for sports, preservation of historical memory and the cultivation of patriotism.
