Bashneft Oil Company (part of Rosneft Oil Company) has begun pilot operation of its first pipeline made from composite materials, replacing traditional steel pipes. The first pipeline, at the Munir Gallyamov field, is 10 kilometers long. It has significantly improved oil transportation efficiency, environmental safety, and industrial safety.

The composite pipeline is the first stage in the creation of a large-scale production infrastructure using innovative developments in Bashkortostan's new oil-producing region. The pipeline was installed at the Munir Gallyamov field using pipe screwing. Installation speed is five times faster than traditional steel pipe welding.

Composite pipelines are corrosion-resistant and require no electrochemical protection, corrosion inhibition, or cleaning. The guaranteed service life of such "pipes" is three times longer—up to 50 years. The smoother internal surface of composite oil pipelines significantly reduces hydraulic losses during oil pumping and eliminates deposits on the pipe walls, which over time reduce the throughput of steel pipelines.

The transition to pipes made from this innovative material will significantly accelerate the construction of new oil pipelines and the development of reserves. The project was initiated by specialists from Bashneft-Dobycha, Bashneft's hydrocarbon field development operator.

Implementing innovation and maximizing technological potential is one of the key priorities of Rosneft's strategy. The company strives to improve production efficiency by relying on advanced domestic developments and technical solutions.

The cumulative oil production of RN-Uvatneftegaz (part of the Rosneft oil production complex) has reached 150 million tonnes since the start of production at the Uvat project fields in 2007. This achievement was made possible by well construction, the commissioning of new assets, and the use of modern drilling and oil production technologies.

This year, the company commissioned 99 new wells. Construction of high-tech wells, primarily horizontal, using hydraulic fracturing is currently ongoing. In the first eight months of 2025, RN-Uvatneftegaz's oil production increased by 55,000 tons compared to the same period in 2024.

Today, the Uvat project operates three oil production hubs—Ust-Tegussky, Protozanovsky, and Tyamkinsky—with smaller satellite fields adjacent. Sharing the hubs' infrastructure creates synergies and accelerates the commissioning of new fields. The major fields are equipped with two central oil gathering stations, two oil pumping stations, and five chemical analysis testing laboratories.

The development of field infrastructure is contributing to the growth of production indicators. Gas production and power generation facilities were commissioned in 2025. New 110 and 35 kV substations were launched, providing RN-Uvatneftegaz with a reliable power supply to increase drilling volumes and operate new wells. The substations are equipped with modern Russian-made power and switching equipment, ensuring a high degree of automation. All equipment is adapted for uninterrupted operation in the northern climate.

The company continues geological exploration and expanding its resource base. In 2025, RN-Uvatneftegaz geologists discovered the Yuzhno-Keumskoye field. This new asset will play a key role in the further development of the entire project and the long-term maintenance of the company's current oil production levels.

The implementation of digital tools is contributing to the improvement of RN-Uvatneftegaz's key operational indicators and productivity. The company uses the Sfera 3D information technology system. Digitalization enables maximum efficiency across the entire production chain—from well construction to hydrocarbon transportation—as well as real-time management of equipment operating modes and the selection of optimal engineering solutions.

Venezuelan Coffee: A Taste of Travel at Rosneft Gas Stations

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

On International Coffee Day, Rosneft volunteers across Russia treated motorists to a true taste experience, introducing them to premium Venezuelan coffee, supplied by special order from the Company.

What makes this coffee unique is its origin. Venezuelan coffee beans are rarely seen on the market today due to the country's small export volumes. Bean supplies to Russia are carried out as part of a strategic partnership: in 2023, Rosneft Oil Company and Venezuelan companies signed agreements on the direct supply of Venezuelan-produced coffee beans on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

At Rosneft's special request, a delicate roasting process is carried out in the South American country using Arabica beans grown in the Andes at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level. Venezuelan coffee is noticeably different from other South American varieties. The deep and complex flavor of Venezuelan coffee makes it considered among the best in the world.

In St. Petersburg and the surrounding region, volunteers from RN-Northwest (part of Rosneft Oil Company) organized a themed celebration for motorists offering a complete immersion into the world of coffee. Guests participated in tastings and master classes, learning about the subtleties of the invigorating beverage's flavor and aroma. At the flagship St. Petersburg gas station, everyone could personally experience the difference, trying to identify the aroma of a particular coffee among others. Rosneft customers also had the opportunity to create a unique car air freshener with a subtle coffee aroma during a master class, and the most knowledgeable participants participated in a quiz and received prizes for correct answers.

At the flagship gas station in St. Petersburg, customers can use a robot barista to prepare their coffee. The machine can brew 24 types of energizing drinks and can also help create and prepare coffee according to a signature recipe. Even more—40 types of coffee bean drinks to suit every taste—are available to car tourists at the gas station on the Kola federal highway in the Leningrad Region.

A number of Rosneft gas stations in Moscow and the Moscow region have prepared themed decorations for this day. The vibrant packaging elements of the exclusive drink are reflected in the interior design, and customers receive their coffee in new, eye-catching cups.

A themed quiz was held at the flagship gas station in Voronezh. True coffee connoisseurs received pleasant branded souvenirs for correct answers.

Rosneft is developing a network of new-format gas stations with cafes under its own brand, Zerno, which emphasize the quality and taste of freshly brewed coffee.

Rosneft is developing well construction and reconstruction technologies.

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Rosneft held a scientific and practical conference in Samara, "Well Construction and Reconstruction Engineering." This year, the event was held for the fifteenth time and brought together over 250 representatives from oil production companies, service companies, and research institutes. The company's Samara Research Institute served as the traditional organizer.

At the conference, delegates discussed innovative approaches to well design and construction, shared experiences in import substitution, and the development and implementation of advanced technologies to improve the operational efficiency of drilling engineering.

Specialists from the Samara Institute, together with colleagues from Orenburgneft (part of Rosneft's production unit), discussed achievements in the development and implementation of 3D geomechanical models for oil fields.

The model incorporates geological and seismic information, drilling parameters, and well logging data. This innovation will allow for assessing well construction risks, predicting potential geological complications, and planning the optimal drilling trajectory.

A 3D geomechanical modeling approach has been successfully tested in complex geological sections of Orenburgneft's Biktovskoye field. The experience gained will help optimize the development time for field models across the country.

One of the key topics of the conference was the digitalization of well construction and reconstruction processes, aimed at increasing the efficiency and safety of operations, as well as optimizing costs.

Samara specialists presented conference participants with a software module for predicting complication zones during well design, which operates using neural networks.

The new development was tested in wells at the Western Dome of the Yuzhno-Orlovskoye field in the Samara Region. The software module demonstrated a high reliability of the neural network model—79%. The results open up new possibilities for developing methods for predicting potential problem zones (absorption, collapses, gas, oil, and water shows, sticking) using computer vision technologies and generative neural network models. This will ultimately enable the creation of maps and profiles of problem distribution across fields.

The implementation of the software module in the corporate software packages RN-KIN, RN-SIGMA, RN-BUROVYE RASCHETY will significantly reduce the labor costs of specialists on routine analytical work and improve the efficiency of predicting geological zones of complications during well construction design.

As a leader in the development of modern domestic technologies in oil and gas production, Rosneft annually holds conferences on various areas of activity, consolidating and disseminating the best ideas and practices for the exchange of professional experience among specialists and the comprehensive development of the domestic oil industry.
