With the first days of autumn, the harvest season has arrived in the 320,000 mu (21,333.33 hectares) corn fields of Yanjin County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. Maneuverable drones flutter over the steep fields, delivering corn by air to collection points along the highway, saving labor and speeding up transportation, and ensuring that the corn is quickly laid out for drying.

Yanjin County Agricultural Machinery Department actively implements the state policy of subsidizing the purchase of agricultural machinery, providing financial subsidies of 10,000-15,000 yuan for each agricultural drone that meets the established standards.

Another work season of the Polytechnic student teams is coming to an end. As always, it brought a lot of new impressions, bright emotions and unusual experience. For Anna Kurakina from the service team "Altair" this summer was special. The 4th-year student of the IPMEiT majoring in "Human Resources Management" joined the headquarters of the All-Russian service project "Gelendzhik". As a foreman, she coordinated the activities of the joint student team of the same name.

The project participants worked in the hotels "METROPOL Grand Hotel Gelendzhik 5*" and "Primorye Grand Resort Hotel". 130 students from ten regions of Russia worked as maids, cooks, bartenders, waiters, laundry operators, housekeepers, creating a premium service for city guests. Before employment, each of them mastered an additional working profession for free.

For Anna Kurakina, participation in the all-Russian project was not accidental. Back in 2023, the girl took first place in the "Cook" competency at the professional skills competition of student service teams in St. Petersburg. In 2024, she entered the top three winners of this competition in the "Maid" competency at the city level and became the winner in the Northwestern Federal District.

"For me, the Gelendzhik project is, first of all, an opportunity to meet interesting people. Here, representatives of different regions exchange experiences, talk about themselves, this helps to develop the squad's horizons and take note of something," Anna shared her impressions of participating in the project. "I also tell everyone about the St. Petersburg squads, our traditions, events. It is very pleasant when the commander of one of the squads comes to you and says that he really liked "Svoy Zal" – a festival of non-professional short films shot by fighters of the student squads of St. Petersburg! Being a master of the all-Russian labor project is, of course, difficult, but no less interesting. Every day brings new challenges, and we solve them all together."

BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Eurasian Fashion Week kicked off Wednesday at the Urumqi International Textile and Garment Trade Center in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with the theme "Silk Road Fashion Community for a New Chapter of Eurasia," Xinjiang News Portal reported Thursday.

Over the course of six days, the event will feature 18 fashion shows featuring many famous designers and brands from different countries, including Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and China.

The Uzbek brand “LALI” is participating in the Eurasian Fashion Week for the first time. According to its brand manager, such a platform is very useful and intercultural exchanges are extremely important for the growth and development of the brand. “LALI” hopes to expand its horizons at the Fashion Week, find more inspiration for design and build more active collaborations with designers from all over the world.

For the original Xinjiang designer brand “ALIM ADIL”, this is the second time in a row to participate in the Eurasian Fashion Week. In its first time, it not only won the recognition of many domestic fashion resources, but also achieved a breakthrough in the international arena. This time, “ALIM ADIL” prepared a series of collections mixing Chinese style with satin patterns to attract attention and enter wider markets.

In recent years, the Eurasian Fashion Week platform has helped a cohort of local designers and brands grow rapidly. By showcasing their talents, increasing their visibility and expanding their markets, they are becoming an emerging force in the fashion industry, said Sun Xiuqin, chairwoman of the Xinjiang Fashion Designers Association.

It is worth noting that the Eurasian Fashion Week has been successfully held eight times and has become not only a major fashion event, but also an important bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Eurasian countries.

The 9th Fashion Week aims to further strengthen regional cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation, promote the optimization and upgrading of Xinjiang's textile and garment industry, and build famous local "Made in Xinjiang" brands based in Xinjiang that target domestic and international markets. At the same time, this Fashion Week aims to promote in-depth cooperation among Eurasian countries in fashion design, brand promotion, talent training, etc., and promote the prosperity and development of the fashion industry, bringing new inexhaustible energy to the Eurasian textile and garment industry. -0-

A graduate of the Faculty of Architecture, a student of the Faculty of Continuing Education of SPbGASU Alexandra Polyanskaya reached the final of the National Open Championship of Creative Competencies for specialists in the field of creative industries Art Masters and visited Sakhalin among the finalists. The program of the stay included meetings with the Governor and Minister of Architecture and Urban Development of the Sakhalin Region and the defense of competition projects.

Let us recall that the championship is held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow in order to identify talented young specialists and create opportunities for their professional growth.

The sixth season of the ArtMasters Championship was attended by 30 thousand participants from all regions of Russia and 51 countries. The prize fund for the current season was 36 million rubles. In the main age category, individual competitions were held in 20 competencies. Alexandra Polyanskaya participated in the "Architectural Environment Designer" category.

"The championship required us to design a public space. I proposed a design for a landmark (an architectural dominant) in the form of a frozen wave – a symbol of the meeting of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk. The object emphasizes the natural landscape, unites both competition territories, serves as a navigation point for tourists and is easily scalable for small architectural forms, while being designed for long-term use in the harsh climatic conditions of Sakhalin. And the form itself originates in one territory and continues in another, forming a kind of "Gateway to Two Seas," Alexandra explained.

The winners of the championship will be determined by the results of the audience vote. From September 10 to 20, you can vote for Alexandra Polyanskaya.

Last Saturday, the Main Academic Building of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University was once again filled with ringing voices and inquisitive glances. The University held a big celebration for future applicants and their parents, which combined three key events at once: Open Day of Children's Education, Open Day of Preparatory Courses, and the exciting Polytech Quest.

This day became a real journey into the world of science and technology for guests of all ages. Schoolchildren were able to touch the future, and their parents were able to get answers to all questions about additional education and preparation for admission to the largest engineering university in Russia.

From Robots to Drones: The Future Starts Here

The exhibition of clubs and master classes became the center of attraction for future engineers. Children from 5th to 11th grade were able to immerse themselves in the world of additive technologies. They learned how to print on 3D printers, understood the principles of drones and got acquainted with robots under the guidance of experienced mentors and current students.

The key university departments working with schoolchildren presented their programs: the Center for Work with Applicants, the Center for Work with Educational Organizations, the House of Scientists in Lesnoy, the Creative Studio, the Sports Complex, preparatory courses for the Engineering and Construction Institute, and the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education. The Academy of Informatics for Schoolchildren also introduced future graduates to its programs and organized an exciting quest. The SPbPU History Museum opened its exposition for the children, and the Natural Sciences Lyceum told about admission for graduates from the 9th grade. In addition to the university's educational programs, the guests learned about the opportunities to participate in Olympiads, competitions, and shifts at the Sirius Educational Center.

An Open Day of the Polytechnic preparatory courses was held especially for high school students and their parents. Guests had a unique opportunity to personally communicate with teachers and organizers, ask all questions about preparing for the Unified State Exam, Basic State Exam and entrance examinations, learn about the intricacies of admission and immediately enroll in courses.

An intellectual adventure in the heart of campus

The Polytechnic Quest for schoolchildren from the Academy of Informatics was a bright end to the day. The teams went on an intellectual walk around the Polytechnic Park. They had to find checkpoints and complete tasks that required not only logic and erudition, but also the ability to work in a team.

Traditionally, at the very beginning of the academic year, we opened the doors of the university to schoolchildren of different ages. Attracting talent is the most important vector of development of engineering education and Polytechnic is always at the forefront. Last Saturday clearly showed that the interest of schoolchildren and their parents in this area is growing exponentially. We tried to show everyone that we are waiting for them within our walls today, it is not necessary to wait for graduation, – noted the head of the Directorate of Pre-University Education and Talent Attraction Nikolay Snegirev.

The next meetings with Polytechnic are just around the corner. The University is already preparing new events for everyone who is passionate about science and technology.

A project by a student of St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU) has been implemented in the Leningrad Region

Third-year student of the Faculty of Architecture Sofia Andreeva is the author of the mural “Dawn of Hope,” which was created on the facade of the boarding school “Red Dawns” in the Petrodvortsov district.

Let us recall that earlier the Council for Architecture and Urban Development of the Leningrad Region and the North-West of the Russian Federation, the companies "BaltInvest-Project" and "Kraski Friedlander" announced an architectural competition to develop a sketch of a mural for the boarding school "Krasnye Zori". The jury included the President of the Union of Architects of Russia Nikolay Shumakov and the first deputy chairman of the committee – the chief architect of the Leningrad Region Sergey Lutchenko. More than 80 applications from students from different universities were submitted to the competition. The work of Sofia Andreeva was recognized as the best and recommended for implementation.

"Sophia's sketch stood out, first of all, for the composition of the mural. It is made in the shape of a heart and thus does not repeat the rigid orthogonal grid of the pylons of the boarding school, as was the case in most of the works submitted to the competition. The winner carefully studied the history of the school and each element displayed in the mural – ears of corn, a river, domestic animals, conifers, mountains, the sun and so on in the drawing are not accidental. These elements have a hidden meaning and show the history of the life of this unique place and building. The colors used in the mural attract the gaze of a person entering the school and at the same time organically fit into the environment around the building," noted Sergey Lutchenko.

Sofia Andreeva admits that murals as a type of monumental painting attract with their scale and, unlike the construction of buildings, fast and direct interaction with space. The decision to take part in the competition was made spontaneously, and inspiration came while working on the plot.

"The plot arose from the idea to show the unity and work of the children who studied here at different times, which is very important for a boarding school. The mural used the symbols of the school itself, and the main emphasis was born from the name "Red Dawns". I was a second-year student and had no experience in creating such a work. But I have been doing design for a long time, since it is indirectly related to my future profession, so it was easier. While working on this project, I learned to work with a certain color palette, which was new to me. Murals are far from just a student activity. This is an experience of creativity and communication, which complements the understanding of space and environment, and therefore is useful in the profession of an architect. I will use this experience in the future, perhaps combining architecture with contemporary art in public spaces," said Sofia.
