The final round of the 5th International Financial Security Olympiad took place at the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk. The Olympiad has become a platform for the international financial security movement, which has already attracted over six million participants, including Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

This year, the finals brought together participants from 40 countries—not only schoolchildren and students, but also experts from the expert community: representatives of universities, companies, and financial intelligence agencies from various countries.

Polytechnic University was represented in the finals by five students from the Higher School of Public Administration, Institute of Industrial Management, Economics, and Trade. Svetlana Golovina and Li Zhentao sign a memorandum

On October 13, the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Shandong Jiaotong University (China) signed a memorandum of understanding.

Shandong Jiaotong University (SJTU), founded in 1956, is located in Jinan, Shandong Province. It specializes in educational programs in transportation fields, including transport infrastructure construction, integrated transportation, and vehicle design and production. The university maintains extensive academic and research collaborations with Russian universities: it established an international educational platform, the Don Institute, jointly with the Don State Technical University (Rostov-on-Don), and the Russian-Chinese Institute of Transport Education was established jointly with the Irkutsk State Transport University. Representatives of the Chinese university have also expressed great interest in establishing a partnership with St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU).

Successful cases

The effectiveness of the program is confirmed by the actual implementation of technologies by its finalists.

Skolkovo participant REDSYSTEMS has developed a portable diagnostic device for analyzing the energy parameters of diesel locomotive units. The solution allows testing in 3–15 minutes with a 99.5% accuracy rate, laying the foundation for predictive equipment maintenance. A pilot implementation of the device is planned at a Severstal plant.

SIMPLE CAMPAIGNS received a 7 million ruble grant and successfully implemented its software for managing the efficiency of production assets at the Tosol-Sintez plant, a major automotive chemicals manufacturer. The integration took five days, and the six-month economic impact amounted to 14 million rubles, thanks to reduced procurement and a 15% reduction in equipment downtime.

The development of the program's finalist, DekStream, received support from partner Gazprom Neft and a grant from Skolkovo. It is a system for monitoring pipeline detachments from foundation supports in permafrost conditions. As part of the pilot project, the IoT platform was refined and specialized position sensors were developed.

Overall, since the GreenTech Sustainable Development program was launched, the organizers have received over 3,800 applications, with over 400 projects becoming finalists and being reviewed by experts. Over a hundred technologies have been successfully implemented at customer enterprises.

The Protection of the Holy Mother of God: a great feast and the beginning of the Polytechnic University's journey

On October 14, Orthodox Christians celebrate one of the great feasts of the twelve feasts – the Protection of the Holy Mother of God.

The holiday is based on the legend of the miraculous salvation of Christians from a pagan invasion in Constantinople in the mid-10th century. The city was besieged by enemies, and people gathered in the Blachernae Church to pray. Among them was Andrew, the fool-for-Christ from Constantinople. According to his life, he was the first to see the Mother of God walking across the sky, surrounded by saints and angels. The Most Pure One began to pray for the salvation of Christians, and then spread a maphorion—a woman's veil covering her head and shoulders—over them. Scientists conducted detailed studies of the drug's safety for humans, animals, and marine ecosystems. The effectiveness of "Oceanida" was proven not only in laboratory conditions but also in field trials at the White Sea Biological Station of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Hydrocarbon losses amounted to 36.7% over 45 days, even at temperatures as low as -1.5°C. Based on the obtained data on the drug's safety for marine ecosystems, an environmental assessment confirmed the suitability of "Oceanida" for use in Arctic seas.

Environmental sustainability in business operations is a key priority for Rosneft Oil Company. From October 5 to 11, the 16th Russian National Conference on Earthquake-Resistant Construction and Seismic Zoning was held in Sochi. The conference addressed such topical issues as seismic design standards in different countries, seismic protection, software calculations, and more. The earthquake that occurred in Kamchatka on July 30 became a high-profile topic. Experts discussed the results of seismic stations during the earthquake, the minute-by-minute occurrence of events, and concluded that the seismic event had been successfully managed.

Olga Nesterova, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Structural Mechanics, presented a paper at the "Application of CAD and Computational Modeling in the Design of Buildings and Structures" section on the consideration of vibration mode correlation in seismic impact analysis. "As part of my research on dynamic vibration dampers for seismic protection of buildings and structures, I discussed an important factor that must be considered in earthquake impact analysis: vibration mode correlation. The agreement was signed by China's Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Wang Xiaoping and Chairman of the Social Fund of Kyrgyzstan Baktiyar Aliyev in February of this year in Beijing.

Since 2001, China has signed bilateral social security agreements with 12 other countries, including Germany, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Finland, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Luxembourg, Japan and Serbia.

The ministry previously reported that there are approximately 70 enterprises with Chinese capital in Kyrgyzstan, employing approximately 3,000 Chinese workers.
