Beijing, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) — Beijing has set ambitious targets to boost the service capacity of its two international airports, Capital and Daxing, aiming for annual passenger and cargo turnover at these two airports to exceed 160 million person-times and 2.5 million tons, respectively, by 2030, local authorities said.

Over the next five years, the city will make efforts to increase the connectivity of its two local international airports with major global aviation hubs, important capital cities, and countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. This was announced at a press conference on Tuesday by Lai Xianyu, deputy head of the Beijing Development and Reform Commission.

The satellite lounge project at Daxing Airport will begin soon to increase capacity for international passengers.

Yerevan, October 15 (Xinhua) — Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met on Tuesday with the current Chairperson of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, who is in the country on a working visit, his press service reported.

Islamabad, October 15 (Xinhua) — Pakistani security forces exchanged fire with Afghan militants and the banned terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) late Tuesday evening along the border in Kurram Agency in northwest Pakistan, Pakistani intelligence sources told Xinhua on Wednesday.

Beijing, October 15 (Xinhua) — In the first three quarters of 2025, 1,089 freight trains were sent from China's economically developed Jiangsu Province to Central Asian countries, placing the province among the top Chinese destinations for this indicator, according to the news portal chinanews.com, citing data from a local international freight rail operator.

In addition, during the specified period, the number of freight trains sent to Central Asia via Jiangsu amounted to 616. Dushanbe, October 15 (Xinhua) — On the first day of the Dushanbe-Invest-2025 International Investment Forum, 26 agreements and memorandums worth a total of approximately $3.12 billion were signed, the Khovar news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan.
