From April 6 to 9, Moscow's longevity centers will host Easter Week—a series of events dedicated to one of the most important Christian holidays. Senior Muscovites will be able to participate in creative and culinary master classes, educational lectures, and an interactive program.
On Wednesday, April 8, 11 flagship Moscow Longevity Centers will host a unified program of events, including master classes, lectures, and themed activities. On this day, guests will be able to participate in creative and culinary workshops, as well as educational lectures.
Throughout the week, participants will be able to create unique holiday crafts at various Moscow Longevity Centers. On April 6th, at the Tagansky-2 Center, Muscovites will be able to decorate eggs with bobbin lace, and on April 7th, at the Kryukov Center, they will learn how to make Easter baskets. On April 8th, the Sokolniki Center will host a culinary master class on making Easter cakes and demonstrating a unique egg-dyeing technique. On the same day, the Association of Culinary Clubs will bake a large Easter cake at the Lomonosovsky Center, and the Obruchevsky Center for Moscow Longevity will host a master class on "Wax Candles with Dried Flower Decorations."
The Moscow Longevity Centers will also feature themed creative zones called "The Art of Decor," where participants can create festive wreaths and arrangements from pussy willow branches, fresh and dried flowers, decorate wooden objects in the styles of Zhostovo and Gzhel painting, or modern minimalism, and make bast toys and baskets.
As part of the "Secrets of the Easter Table" culinary section, guests will be able to attend the "Ideal Kulich" culinary show with invited chefs and club leaders. Participants will learn how to make paskha (cottage cheese paskha) and decorate gingerbread. During the club leaders' culinary masterclasses, guests will recall traditional kulich-making techniques, learn innovative dishes for the holiday table, and learn eco-friendly ways to dye eggs using natural ingredients like turmeric and beets.
Throughout the week, a unified cultural and educational program will be held, including a lecture on "The History of Moscow Easter" about the capital's celebration traditions. Older Muscovites will be treated to lectures by representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church on the topic "From Palm Sunday to Easter: Preparing for the Main Orthodox Holiday."
