JINAN, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) — Musicians from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory Chamber Choir presented an unforgettable musical experience to visitors at a cultural exchange event held Sunday on Mount Taishan in east China's Shandong Province.

On the day of the event, musicians performed contemporary Chinese songs, as well as classic Russian songs such as "Moscow Nights," "Katyusha," "Oh, the Kalina Blossoms," "Ural Rowan," and others.

In addition, the choir members climbed to the top of Mount Taishan and enjoyed the majestic scenery of the mountain, gaining a deeper understanding of the long history and culture of this mountain.

The choir's artistic director, Alexander Solovyov, noted that performing songs on the summit of Mount Taishan is different from performing in a concert hall, and the enthusiastic Chinese tourists added a unique touch to the performance. "I hope that in the future we will have more opportunities to perform in China."

The Moscow Conservatory Chamber Choir was founded in December 1994, at the initiative of Professor A.S. Sokolov, by the distinguished contemporary choral conductor, People's Artist of Russia, Professor B.G. Tevlin. The choir, a participant in national and international festivals, regularly tours cities across Russia and abroad. The ensemble's main artistic focus is performing works by contemporary Russian and international composers.

Mount Taishan has been a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site since 1987. -0-
