BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) — A delegation of 85 people from the Irkutsk Municipal Model Children's Dance Ensemble "Solnyshko" (Sun) from Russia recently arrived in Daqing, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to hold a friendly exchange event.

According to the online portal sohu.com, the event was organized with the support of the Daqing Foreign Affairs Office, in conjunction with the Heilongjiang Business Vocational College and the Daqing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. It represents a practical example of implementing the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthening humanitarian cooperation with Russia. The Solnyshko ensemble is one of Russia's outstanding youth performing groups, boasting extensive international experience.

The delegation's first stop was a visit to the Daqing Urban Development Research and Education Base, where participants expressed a keen interest in the local culture and educational programs. At the Heilongjiang Vocational College of Business, Russian teenagers, along with Chinese faculty and students, performed classical music from both countries, drawing enthusiastic applause in an atmosphere of artistic collaboration.

Following the concert, the Russian guests viewed an exhibition of mechanical models and Chinese intangible cultural heritage, and also experienced traditional Chinese crafts, deepening their cultural identity through hands-on participation.

"It was a dialogue of souls that transcended national boundaries," noted a representative of the Daqing Foreign Affairs Office, emphasizing that the event not only created a platform for communication between the two countries' youth but also facilitated deeper collaboration in the field of vocational education.

Such exchanges reflect the solid foundation of cooperation between Heilongjiang and Russia. As a strategic hub of the northward opening-up policy, Daqing has consistently deepened people-to-people exchanges with Russia in recent years. The above-mentioned event once again showcased Daqing's industrial potential and ecological charm, contributing to the integration of the culture, education, and tourism industries in the city.

NANCHANG, November 4 (Xinhua) — The Russian aerobatic team "Russian Knights," consisting of six Su-35S fighter jets and one Su-30SM, performed at the Nanchang Airshow and Aviation Industry Exhibition, which was held from October 31 to November 2 in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province, east China.

This was the first time the Russian Knights were invited to this event, which took place at the local Yaohu Airport. In the skies over Nanchang, the Russian pilots performed a series of complex and aerobatic maneuvers, including the "falling leaf" and "cobra," demonstrating the powerful maneuverability of heavy fighter jets.

In addition, on the sidelines of the event, the Russian Knights and China's first aerobatic team, Hongxing, made up of retired pilots, also held an exchange of views on aviation culture.

Pilots from the two countries had in-depth discussions on issues such as coordination and cooperation during complex formation flights, precise control of aerobatic maneuvers, and best practices in flight safety management.

"The participation of Chinese and foreign aerobatic teams, such as the Russian Knights, in this event demonstrates the profound exchange and integration of aviation cultures across different countries," said Hu Yanchun, head of the Hongxing Aerobatic Team.

As a reminder, the Russian Knights have traditionally enjoyed immense popularity among Chinese aviation enthusiasts. Last year, after eight years, they again participated in the China International Aviation and Space Show (Airshow China) in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, southern China, not only captivating the air show attendees but also generating a strong response on Chinese social media. -0-

DOHA, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said Monday that China is willing to deepen cooperation with Qatar in various fields and raise the bilateral strategic partnership to a higher level.

Han Zheng, who is visiting the Qatari capital to attend the Second World Summit for Social Development, made the statement during a meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the meeting, the Chinese Vice President noted that Qatar enjoys unique and significant influence in the Middle East and is an important strategic partner for China. He emphasized that China consistently places great importance on its relations with Qatar.

Han Zheng recalled that Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Emir of Qatar reached important agreements on deepening bilateral ties during their meeting in the SCO Plus format last July.

Noting that the recent Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China reviewed and approved the recommendations for formulating the country's 15th Five-Year Plan for Social and Economic Development (2026-2030), he said that China is committed to benefiting the world through its development, which will create valuable opportunities for friendly cooperation with Qatar.

"Profound political mutual trust is the foundation of China-Qatar relations," the vice president said, adding that China is willing to work with Qatar to implement the important agreements reached by the two heads of state, maintain high-level exchanges, continue to support each other on issues affecting their core interests, and deepen cooperation in energy, artificial intelligence and the digital economy to elevate the bilateral strategic partnership to a new level.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, emphasizing China's status as Qatar's largest trading partner, said in turn that these relations are of vital importance to Qatar.

He added that Qatar values its friendship with China, is grateful for China's support in protecting its territorial sovereignty and national security, and will firmly adhere to the one-China principle.

The Emir stated that his country is ready to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, strengthen the energy partnership with China and take bilateral relations to a new level. –0–
