DOHA, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Tuesday put forward a four-point proposal to promote social development worldwide.

Speaking at the general debate at the Second World Summit on Social Development in Doha, he noted that the first World Summit on Social Development was successfully held in Copenhagen in March 1995, resulting in the adoption of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and the Programme of Action.

SARAJEVO, November 5 (Xinhua) — At least 10 people were killed and around 20 injured in a fire late Tuesday evening at a nursing home in the city of Tuzla in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), local media reported.

The fire broke out at around 8:45 p.m. (19:45 GMT) on the seventh floor of the facility and was brought under control by professional firefighters and volunteers from Tuzla and surrounding municipalities, the nursing home said in a statement.

Medical teams from several local medical centers provided first aid to the injured, who were later transported to the University Clinical Center in Tuzla for treatment. Among the injured were nursing home residents, police officers, firefighters, medical staff, and nursing home employees.

Washington, November 5 (Xinhua) — Two men were killed on Tuesday in the latest U.S. military strike on a suspected drug-smuggling vessel in international waters in the Eastern Pacific, Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on social media.
