BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) — The crew of China's Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft plans to return to Earth aboard the Shenzhou-21 spacecraft on Friday, the China Manned Space Administration (CMSA) said.

The astronauts are scheduled to land at the Dongfeng landing site in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on November 14. Crew members Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie are in good health, and the landing site and all support systems are currently being prepared for their return.

The crew's return, originally scheduled for November 5, was delayed due to a suspected impact from tiny space debris.

According to CMSA, the Shenzhou-22 spacecraft will be launched at an appropriate time in the future. -0-

This year marks the completion of the 14th Five-Year Program.

China maintains its status as the world's largest manufacturing power, with the output of more than 200 major industrial products ranking first in the world, the largest number of 5G base stations in the world, and the world's largest R&D talent pool. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's economic output successively exceeded 110, 120, and 130 trillion yuan, and is expected to reach approximately 140 trillion yuan this year.

All these “first places,” “largest,” and “biggest” indicators clearly demonstrate that China’s socio-economic development has accelerated a large-scale transformation—a transition from quantitative to qualitative changes, from a low-medium level to a high-medium level, from the role of a follower to the status of a leader.

"In recent years, China's overall economic output has grown steadily, which is an extremely impressive achievement given the current global economic uncertainty," said Marcos Pires, Director of the Institute of Economics and International Studies at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). He added that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's economic growth is expected to exceed 35 trillion yuan. China's economy is not only large in size but also has sufficient growth drivers, having made significant progress in improving the quality of development and optimizing its industrial structure, which plays a crucial role in global economic recovery and growth.

Klaus Heinrich Raditio, a scholar at the Driyarkara School of Philosophy in Indonesia, noted that as the world's largest manufacturing powerhouse, China is continually strengthening its competitiveness and innovative capacity in high-tech industries such as new energy vehicles and intelligent hardware, making a significant contribution to regional and global economic development. China is consistently promoting the emergence of a new development model, more effectively combining the advantages of its vast domestic market with the opportunities of international cooperation, unleashing economic dynamism.

Special Economic Adviser to the Vice President of South Africa, Gadija Brown, noted that over the past four years, the average contribution of final consumption expenditure to China's economic growth has reached 56.2%, 8.6 percentage points higher than during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. New products, new business formats, and new models are constantly emerging in the consumption sector.

Brown noted that expanding domestic demand is currently playing an increasingly important role in China's economic growth. Thanks to special measures to stimulate consumption, consumers are willing to buy higher-quality products and services. "This not only stimulates the development of industries such as retail and digital services, but also creates more opportunities for trade and investment partners."

Moscow, November 13 /Xinhua/ — For over a decade, the Communist Party of China has been implementing the "Eight Points" program, also known as the "Eight Points," which strengthens ties with the people and addresses pressing issues at the local level. This was stated by Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui in an article dedicated to the CPC's revolutionary self-transformation. The article was published Thursday in the Russian newspaper Parlamentskaya Gazeta.

"For over a decade, the Chinese Communist Party has been implementing the 'Eight Points' program to strengthen ties with the people and address pressing local issues. As always in China, these reforms are based on a profound philosophical approach and analysis, while real changes are visible to all residents of the Middle Kingdom and measurable in concrete figures," the publication states.

Zhang Hanhui recalled that since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, "the Party Central Committee, led by Comrade Xi Jinping, has continuously deepened research and theoretical reflection in the process of comprehensive and strict governance of the Party." In December 2012, the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee adopted the "Eight Points for Improving Work Style and Strengthening Close Ties with the Masses," and central and local government departments developed specific measures to implement this plan. Its rapid implementation became the living embodiment of the CPC's spirit of revolutionary self-transformation.

As the Chinese diplomat pointed out, the key to revolutionary self-transformation is the recognition of the need to recognize one's own problems and the courage to "turn the knife's edge inward." He called the "Eight Points" an important measure that addresses the challenges of the times, strengthens the Party's work style, and addresses the concerns of the people. According to a 2024 survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China, 94.9 percent of Chinese citizens positively assess the impact of the implementation of the "Eight Points."

“Their strength lies in their deep popular foundation, practical applicability, powerful exemplary effect, and firm long-term significance, fully demonstrating the CPC’s outstanding ability and wisdom in governing the country,” the ambassador emphasized.

Zhang Hanhui noted that the program serves as an effective political lever. "The Party harshly prosecutes offenses that cause significant public discontent, including banquets and feasts at public expense, the use of official vehicles for personal use, and gifts. We consistently investigate corruption, including the transfer of interests and 'power for money,' and resolutely combat hedonism and extravagance, permanently eliminating the grounds for their emergence," the diplomat said, emphasizing that the personal conduct of Chinese President Xi Jinping sets an example.

According to Zhang Hanhui, the "Eight Points" have been a fully-fledged law for the CPC from the very beginning, meaning their long-term application. "This isn't a one-time campaign, but rather permanent rules and a firm framework. They're not formal—they're a genuine method of struggle and tradition-building," the ambassador pointed out.

He added that the recently held Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee reviewed and adopted the CPC Central Committee's Proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. Among the key tasks identified were "strengthening centralized and unified Party leadership and fostering a healthy political atmosphere." "The plenary session emphasized the importance of steadfastly adhering to the spirit of the 'Eight Points,' combating all negative trends, and long-term and systematic improvement of work style," Zhang Hanhui noted.

"On the new path leading to a historical test—the path to achieving the second goal of the 'hundred-year'—the Communist Party of China will unwaveringly represent the fundamental interests of the people, maintain the spirit of revolutionary self-transformation and the courage to 'point the knife inward,' advance the comprehensive construction of a powerful state and the revival of the nation through the implementation of Chinese modernization, in order to make a powerful contribution to the creation of a community with a shared future for mankind," the Chinese ambassador to Russia assured.

Beijing, November 13 (Xinhua) — China calls on Group of Seven (G7) countries to stop manipulating China-related issues and interfering in its internal affairs, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Thursday.

The diplomat made this appeal at a regular departmental briefing when he was asked to comment on the joint statement of the G7 foreign ministers, which expressed concern about China's "military buildup and rapid expansion of its nuclear weapons arsenal."

This joint statement is yet another example of ignoring and distorting the facts, deliberately denigrating China and grossly interfering in its internal affairs, Lin Jian emphasized, stating that the Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and resolute protest in this regard.

He reminded that the Taiwan question is an exclusively internal matter for China and that the resolution of the Taiwan question is solely the business of the Chinese people and does not tolerate any external interference.

Lin Jian stated that the overall situation in the East China Sea and South China Sea remains stable and called on the G7 to stop using maritime issues to provoke disputes, escalate tensions and undermine peace and stability in the region.

China has consistently maintained a very clear position on the Ukrainian crisis, has never supplied lethal weapons to either side in the conflict, and maintains strict controls over its exports of dual-use goods, Lin Jian emphasized, adding that China will not tolerate G7 countries shifting blame or making unfounded accusations.

"In matters of peace and security, China is the power with the best track record. China is firmly committed to peaceful development and a defensive military policy. China always maintains its nuclear arsenal at the minimum level necessary to ensure national security," the official representative stated.

According to him, the G7 is silent about the US's special and primary responsibility for nuclear disarmament and the proliferation risks associated with the AUKUS (Australia, UK, and US) trilateral partnership, while, conversely, raising this issue in relation to China. "This is a typical example of mixing truth and lies," the diplomat noted.

Lin Jian noted that China's measures to standardize and optimize its national export control system are in line with generally accepted international practices and are aimed at more effectively protecting world peace and regional stability, as well as fulfilling China's international obligations.

Furthermore, as Lin Jian pointed out, claims about China's "overcapacity" and "non-market practices" are refuted by facts and do not stand up to scrutiny.

He stressed that the G7 countries must stop politicizing and weaponizing trade issues so as not to undermine the international economic order and global supply chains.

China once again urges the G7 countries to clearly understand the overall trend of global development, abandon the Cold War mentality and ideological bias, stop manipulating China-related issues, stop interfering in China's internal affairs, and make greater contributions to the unity and cooperation of the international community, the Chinese Foreign Ministry official concluded.
