Islamabad, November 15 (Xinhua) — Five terrorists were killed in an intelligence-driven operation in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, police said on Saturday.

According to police, the operation was carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Takhti Khel district after receiving credible information about the presence of terrorists there.

MALE, November 15 (Xinhua) — The 9th China-South Asia Friendship Organizations Forum, jointly organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the South Asian Regional Friendship and Cooperation Organization with China, was held in the Maldives from Thursday to Friday.

WASHINGTON, November 15 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump's administration issued an executive order on Friday to eliminate "equivalent" tariffs on some agricultural products to ease rising prices.

According to a document released by the White House, products no longer subject to the tariffs include coffee and tea, tropical fruits and fruit juices, cocoa and spices, bananas, oranges and tomatoes, beef and some types of fertilizer.

WUHAN, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) — A new high-speed freight train service linking Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, and Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, was launched Saturday morning.

Trains on this line will travel at speeds of up to 350 km/h, enabling direct travel between the Central Chinese metropolis and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area transport hub.

According to Zhang Ting, Commercial Department Manager at Hankou Station of China Railway Express Co., Ltd., the Wuhan-Guangzhou freight line will primarily handle urgent cargo, such as fresh produce, biopharmaceuticals, and electronics. Tashkent, November 15 (Xinhua) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting in the capital of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek leader's press service reported on Saturday.

As reported, on Saturday, private talks between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.-Zh. Tokayev took place at the Kuksaroy residence.

The parties emphasized that the current state visit will mark a new milestone in the history of Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance.

BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) — The final samples from 26 scientific experiments conducted aboard the Chinese space station, weighing about 46.67 kg, were delivered to Earth on Friday, according to the Space Application Engineering and Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

As part of the ninth transfer of materials from the orbital laboratory, the Shenzhou-21 return capsule delivered to Earth samples obtained during experiments in the fields of space life sciences, materials science, and combustion research.

After landing, the mice participating in the life science experiments were immediately subjected to "field treatment." Researchers will analyze their behavior and key physiological and biochemical parameters to understand the animals' responses to stress and their adaptation mechanisms to spaceflight conditions. The scientists believe these results will provide crucial insights into how the space environment affects living organisms.

Other biological samples, including zebrafish, hornwort, streptomycetes, planarians, and brain organoids, as well as individual samples for materials science and combustion experiments, were delivered to the aforementioned center in Beijing at 12:40 AM on Saturday. The results are expected to advance a range of applications, including protective materials for high-efficiency solar cells, high-gain, radiation-hardened optical fibers, and innovative materials processing technologies for lunar infrastructure. These developments will provide important theoretical and technical support for satellite communications and space exploration.

After returning samples from the combustion experiments, including burners, soot collection plates, and lids, scientists will analyze the resulting flame-induced semiconductor nanomaterials, soot samples, and nanocarbon particle formation characteristics, the center said.

The results of this work may contribute to advances in the fields of extraterrestrial flame synthesis of nanomaterials, new energy systems, fire safety in space, and the production of functional nanocarbon. -0-

New Delhi, November 15 (Xinhua) — The death toll from a blast involving confiscated explosives at a police station in Indian-controlled Kashmir has risen to nine, with 32 more injured, local police said.

A powerful explosion rocked the Nowgam police station in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir, late Friday night.

According to regional police chief Nalin Prabhat, nine people were killed and 32 others were injured in the incident. The detonation occurred accidentally while samples of the confiscated explosives were being collected for analysis.
