BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — Twenty vehicles carrying 393 Holstein cows departed Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, for Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital, via the Ereenhot port, marking the first time Inner Mongolia has exported dairy cows en masse to Mongolia, according to a statement posted on the official website of China's General Administration of Customs.

To ensure the smooth running of this export operation, Hohhot Customs closely cooperated with export enterprises and foreign policy agencies, inquired through various channels about Mongolia's official quarantine requirements, provided detailed explanations of China and Mongolia's dairy cow trade documentation requirements, and established a special working group to conduct individual consultations, which helped enterprises avoid the risk of delays during customs clearance.

“We will continue to promote the entry of more high-quality products characteristic of Inner Mongolia into the wider international market and contribute to the formation of a new development architecture and the promotion of high-quality development of bilateral trade between China and Mongolia,” the Hohhot Customs Service noted. -0-

Beijing, November 26 (Xinhua) — Construction of the first phase of the China-Russia Smart E-Commerce and Logistics Park in Suifenhe, Heilongjiang Province, northeast China, has entered the key stage of equipment and systems debugging, with commissioning scheduled for the first ten days of December this year. This was announced on Wednesday on the official website of the Suifenhe City Hall.

The first phase of the aforementioned park will cost 30 million yuan (approximately $4.23 million) and will cover over 10,000 square meters. It will include the installation of two sets of automated parcel sorting and processing equipment.

Installation of the main components of both sets of equipment has already been completed. Once operational, this facility is expected to be capable of processing an average of 300,000 parcels daily, significantly increasing the efficiency of distribution and sorting of cross-border e-commerce shipments to Russia and providing a new impetus to Suifenhe's economic development.

The construction of the aforementioned park is an important measure for Suifenhe to actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and deeply integrate into Chinese-Russian trade and economic cooperation. Its intelligent positioning is reflected not only in the use of automated logistics equipment but also in the utilization of advanced information technologies to visualize and intelligently manage the entire supply chain, optimize cross-border trade processes, and reduce operating costs for businesses.

The new park will focus on the deep integration of cross-border e-commerce and logistics between China and Russia, and promises to become a modern intelligent logistics center integrating intelligent warehousing, efficient sorting, cross-border distribution, supply chain services, and big data.

Its construction will significantly improve the efficiency of logistics for trade between Suifenhe and Russia and provide e-commerce companies with powerful infrastructure support and intelligent services for developing markets in Russia and Eastern Europe, according to a statement from the Suifenhe mayor's office. -0-

HOHHOT, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — Hohhot Shenle International Airport, the first 4F-class airport in Inner Mongolia, successfully completed a test flight on Tuesday, marking the airport's transition from the construction stage to preparation for official operation.

Air China conducted a test flight lasting approximately 500 minutes. It confirmed that flight procedures, operational standards, runway surfaces, taxiway markings, and the airport's communication and navigation systems meet industry standards.

By 2030, the new airport terminal's annual passenger and cargo throughput are expected to reach 28 million passenger trips and 320,000 tons, respectively. Furthermore, the annual number of aircraft takeoffs and landings is projected to reach 244,000. It will be able to handle even large aircraft, including the Airbus A380.

Once operational, Shenle Airport will take over air travel services from Baita International Airport in Hohhot. It will thus become a key aviation hub in northern China, the primary backup airport for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei airport cluster, a first-class airport, and an important transportation hub for the Belt and Road Initiative.

As of June 21, 2025, China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) had 16 operating Class 4F airports, the highest class of airports in the world capable of handling large aircraft. -0-

NANJING, November 26 (Xinhua) — Swedish steel giant Alleima AB launched the second phase of its Zhenjiang production complex in eastern China's Jiangsu Province on Tuesday, doubling its capacity and paving the way for the production of high-quality pipe products. The upgraded plant will significantly reduce delivery times for Asian customers.

The second phase saw the commissioning of a 12,500-square-meter cold processing plant. Its construction cost RMB 193 million (approximately USD 27.2 million). The plant will produce premium-grade applied tubing, including previously imported high-temperature tubing and high-pressure hydrogen tubing, meeting growing demand from customers in the petrochemical, hydrogen energy, pulp and paper, and healthcare industries.

Since entering the Chinese market in 1985, Alleima AB has steadily expanded its presence, with revenue in China exceeding RMB 1.54 billion in 2024.

"China is one of our most important, dynamically growing markets. Expanding our local production capacity has enabled us to reduce delivery times and improve efficiency," said Karl von Schantz, President of Alleima AB's Pipes Division. "Over the past seven years, we have achieved impressive growth in the Asian region, achieving high revenue levels in the chemical and petrochemical segments," he concluded. -0-

Beijing, November 25 (Xinhua) — Following China's introduction of a visa-free regime for Russian citizens, various regions of China have seen a significant increase in the number of Russian tourists. The increased tourist flow from Russia not only opens new opportunities for the Chinese tourism industry but will also facilitate the development of a wider range of services and measures aimed at enhancing convenience and enhancing the tourist experience for Russian travelers.

NOTICEABLE GROWTH

China has introduced a trial visa-free regime for Russian citizens from September 15, 2025 to September 14, 2026.

Russian citizens holding regular passports may visit China visa-free for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchanging visits, and transit purposes. Their stay in China should not exceed 30 days.

Two months after the visa-free regime came into effect in various parts of China, the effectiveness of this policy measure can already be assessed. This is supported by statistical data.

According to data from Beijing Daxing International Airport, since the visa-free regime for Russian citizens came into effect on September 15, 2025, as of 12:00 PM on November 9, more than 63,000 Russian tourists had entered China through the Beijing Daxing International Airport checkpoint, which is almost 80 percent more than during the same period last year.

According to statistics from the Shanghai Border Control Center in eastern China, between September 15 and November 15, 72,000 Russian tourists entered China through all Shanghai checkpoints, 84.7 percent of whom used the visa-free regime. Russian citizens arriving in China for tourism purposes accounted for 85.2 percent of all Russians entering China visa-free.

According to statistics from Manzhouli Customs (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, North China), during the reporting period, the number of Russian tourists entering China through the Manzhouli checkpoint reached 40,000 people, an increase of 60 percent year-on-year.

NEW TRENDS

Undoubtedly, vacations in China have become more popular among Russians. However, Russian tourists are increasingly choosing unique experiences over standard tours.

Medical tourism, which focuses on healthcare and treatments based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is gaining popularity among a growing number of Russian tourists.

"We receive about a thousand tourists from Russia every year, including from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other Russian cities. Many tourists come here for travel and shopping, while others come specifically for treatment for conditions such as cervical spondylosis and adhesive capsulitis," said Han Shimin, director of the Hanyiju Moxibustion Clinic in Hunchun, Jilin Province, northeast China, which straddles the borders of China, North Korea, and Russia.

With the growing popularity of TCM tours, the quality of medical services in Hunchun is constantly improving. Hunchun TCM Hospital has not only established an international medical department and hired professional translators, but also combined TCM physical therapy with tourism and recreation.

In Manzhouli, local medical institutions have launched health products that include TCM physiotherapy, acupuncture, traditional Chinese massage (tuina) (manual therapy), and thermal water therapy to meet the growing demand for TCM tours from tourists from the Far East.

Furthermore, the city's authorities are actively developing business tourism, providing "one-stop" services to Chinese and Russian businessmen, including event venue booking, translation services, business networking, and more, in order to create a favorable platform for Chinese-Russian trade and economic cooperation.

Zhou Xiaoguang, CEO of a travel agency in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, southern China, noted that Russian tourists prefer not only coastal resort towns and well-known major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Sanya, but also have taken a liking to scenic urban areas, including Guilin, Zhangjiajie, and others. "Russian tourists are very interested in local culture and cuisine, so we create customized hotel and dining plans to meet their needs," he said.

Li Fan, an employee of a travel agency in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, central China, said that more and more Russian tourists are learning about Zhangjiajie and are visiting, home to the bizarrely shaped peaks and cliffs that inspired the film "Avatar." "Russian tourists usually recommend hotels and prefer a more relaxed experience. Based on their preferences, we can recommend hotels or guesthouses with beautiful views. We also add activities to our program that allow Russian tourists to delve deeper into the local culture, such as sand painting workshops or Tujia batik (wax printing)," she explained.

COMFORTABLE TRIPS

The significant increase in Russian tourists' interest in China is due not only to favorable policies, but also to the increase in the number of direct air routes.

Currently, from 20 Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Harbin, Wuhan, Sanya, Hangzhou, Dalian, Urumqi, Xi'an, Zhengzhou and others, you can fly non-stop to Russian cities such as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Krasnoyarsk and Blagoveshchensk.

In addition, a new international regular passenger road transport route was recently opened in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, linking the city of Manzhouli with Aginskoye in Russia.

This is the sixth international scheduled passenger road service between China and Russia, passing through the Manzhouli checkpoint. Previous routes include Manzhouli-Zabaikalsk, Manzhouli-Krasnokamensk, Manzhouli-Borzya, Manzhouli-Chita, and Hailar-Chita.

The opening of the Manzhouli-Aginskoye road transport route has provided a new, stable and convenient option for Chinese and Russian passengers traveling across the border.

Local authorities in various regions of China have taken measures to ensure comfortable travel for Russian tourists.

A "volunteer brigade" of approximately 100 police officers is on duty 24/7 at all Shanghai checkpoints. Some of them speak Russian and are ready to assist Russian tourists with translation, consultations, and other issues.

To ensure maximum convenience, the well-known resort city of Sanya has organized specialized Russian language courses for local employees in hotels, tourist areas, and the transportation sector.

Language courses organized by the local organization help you master the vocabulary needed for work. For example, they cover hotel check-in and check-out procedures, as well as recommendations for visiting attractions. The training even covers such nuances as extending a room or explaining the location of the nearest coconut shop.

As is known, Sanya plans to implement additional training initiatives in the near future: launching educational videos in Russian for self-study, increasing the number of Russian-speaking guides in key tourist areas, optimizing Russian-language navigation, and expanding the network of currency exchange offices.

Qin Jing, Vice President of the Chinese company Ctrip, stated that Russia is not only an important market for China's inbound tourism sector but also a friendly neighbor, with whom the country shares mountains and rivers. China's introduction of a visa-free regime will not only significantly facilitate mutual travel for citizens of the two countries but will also contribute to the deepening of humanitarian exchanges and cultural enrichment between China and Russia.

“This step will open up new opportunities for bilateral tourism exchanges between China and Russia and is expected to further boost the Chinese inbound tourism market,” she concluded.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he has instructed his special envoy Steven Witkoff to travel to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in hopes of finalizing a peace deal on the Ukraine crisis.

"In hopes of finalizing this peace plan, I have directed my Special Envoy Steven Witkoff to meet with President Putin in Moscow, while Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll will meet with the Ukrainians," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"The original 28-point peace plan drawn up by the United States has been refined with additional input from both sides, and there are only a few areas of disagreement," Trump said, adding that his team had made "tremendous progress" over the past week.

The American leader said he hopes to meet with Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky soon, but only when a peace agreement is finalized or in its final stages.

Last week, the United States released a 28-point peace plan.

On Sunday, representatives from the United States, Ukraine, and several European countries met in Geneva to discuss it.

Army Secretary Driscoll held talks with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi on the issue on Monday and Tuesday, according to a U.S. Army statement. –0–

Cairo, November 26 (Xinhua) — Senior officials from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey met here on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and remove obstacles to its implementation, Al-Qahira Al-Ikhbariya television reported.

According to journalists, the talks were focused on ensuring the success of the second phase of the ceasefire. Present were Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Turkish National Intelligence Director Ibrahim Kalin.

Participants agreed to strengthen contacts with Israel's Civil-Military Coordination Center, which oversees the ceasefire, and discussed ways to prevent violations and strengthen the truce, the channel reported.

The current meeting took place after Rashad's talks in Cairo on Sunday with a Hamas delegation, which reaffirmed its commitment to the first phase of the ceasefire agreement but called for the creation of a mechanism supervised by mediators to monitor and curb Israeli "violations."

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Turkey and which took effect on October 10, has sharply reduced the number of Israeli attacks, but has not stopped them completely.

According to Gaza health authorities, at least 345 Palestinians have been killed and 889 injured in Israeli strikes since October 11. The total number of casualties since October 2023 has reached 69,775, with another 170,965 injured.
