Beijing, November 26 (Xinhua) — China hopes that the countries concerned will recognize the prevailing trend, heed the will of the people, and make the right decisions as soon as possible, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said in Beijing on Wednesday.

Mao Ning made the announcement at a regular ministry press conference. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves is reportedly maintaining contacts with China and exploring opportunities to develop relations with the country.

The one-China principle is a generally accepted international consensus and a basic norm in international relations, she noted.

The fact that 183 countries in the world have established diplomatic relations with China fully demonstrates that the one-China principle represents international justice, the will of the people and the prevailing trend.

“We hope that the countries concerned will recognize this general trend, listen to public opinion, and make the right decisions as soon as possible,” she concluded. -0-

BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — Peng Qing'en, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, condemned the brutal attack on two Taiwanese compatriots in Tokyo on Wednesday and called on Japanese authorities to immediately bring the perpetrators to justice.

At a regular departmental press conference, he stated: “We strongly condemn such acts of violence and call on the Japanese side to punish those responsible as quickly and severely as possible.”

Peng Qing'en made these remarks in response to journalists' requests for comment on an incident that occurred in July of this year, in which two Taiwanese men were brutally attacked by five Japanese men on a Tokyo street. Japanese police recently confirmed the arrest of suspects involved in the incident.

There have been several attacks on tourists in Japan this year, including those from Taiwan, Peng Qing'en recalled.

Recently, the Japanese Prime Minister made openly provocative remarks against Taiwan, seriously undermining the atmosphere for people-to-people exchanges, Peng Qing'en said, adding that there has been a noticeable increase in extremist actions by right-wing elements in Japan filled with anti-China sentiment, posing serious risks to the safety of travelers. -0-

Beijing, November 26 (Xinhua) — China will conduct commercial trials of satellite-based Internet of Things (IoT) services to support the safe and healthy development of emerging industries such as commercial aeronautics and the low-altitude economy, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced.

Satellite IoT services are a type of low-speed data transmission service that uses satellite communication technology to provide wide-area IoT connectivity for devices such as data collection terminals, wearable devices, and handheld terminals, as well as for vehicles including cars, ships, and aircraft.

Enterprises applying for commercial trials must conduct relevant activities in China by building IoT satellite systems, as well as business support systems (BSS), operational support systems (OSS), and management support systems (MSS), in accordance with laws and regulations. The relevant notice was published by the aforementioned ministry on Tuesday.

Commercial trials of satellite IoT services are targeting industry users in sectors such as transportation, energy, agriculture, and disaster relief, who rely on these services to collect and transmit data.

By conducting commercial trials, China aims to revitalize market entities, enhance industry service capabilities, establish a safety control system, and form repeatable and scalable experiences and models, the notice said. -0-

BEIJING, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping's remarks during his phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump are of great significance to the mainland's guidance on Taiwan-related work, said Peng Qing'en, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

Beijing, November 26 (Xinhua) — The Changchun School of Foreign Languages, located in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province, northeast China, has opened an authorized center for conducting the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL), an international exam to determine the level of Russian language proficiency for foreigners. The content and conduct of this exam are under the control of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The opening ceremony of the TRFL Testing Center (TCC) took place on Monday. Ji Shaokun, Director of the Changchun School of Foreign Languages; Sun Yi, Head of the School's International Relations Center; Oleg Krinitsky, Head of the TRFL Organizing Committee and Professor at St. Petersburg State University; and Zhu Yun, Head of the TRFL Center in China, participated in the ceremony. This is currently the only TRFL Testing Center in Jilin Province.

Parallel to the official opening of the said PP, the first Jilin Province-wide Russian as a Foreign Language Test was completed at the Changchun School of Foreign Languages. Thirty-five students from the school and 15 extracurricular students or Russian language enthusiasts of various age groups took the exam.

The TRKI certificate is a state-issued certificate and is officially recognized in Russia and a number of other countries. The TRKI test consists of six levels, which test key skills such as vocabulary and grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Holders of a TRKI certificate have a relatively significant advantage when applying for study at Russian universities and are more competitive among job seekers at companies working with Russia or the Russian language.

The leadership of the Changchun School of Foreign Languages hopes that the opening of the TRKI PP will support more Russian language students in obtaining this prestigious certificate and pursuing their professional careers on a broader international stage, as well as provide a powerful impetus to the international development of Russian language teaching in schools and in Northeast China as a whole.

The Changchun School of Foreign Languages was founded in September 1963 and is one of the first seven foreign language schools established after the founding of the People's Republic of China under the personal auspices of then-Premier of the State Council Zhou Enlai. Currently, the school is the leader among all secondary vocational schools in China in terms of Russian language instruction.

School Principal Ji Shaokun promised that the school administration is committed to strictly adhering to the TRKI criteria and fully supporting the organization of the TRKI exam. Oleg Krinitsky, in turn, emphasized the important role of the TRKI exam in stimulating educational ties between Russia and China, expressing hope for further strengthening of cooperation with the school.

Tianjin, November 26 (Xinhua) — The Tianjin Rail Transport Corporation has begun training Kazakh dispatchers for the future light rail transit (LRT) system in Astana. The group of 20 dispatcher students is the second cohort of trainees being trained by the Chinese side, following the completion of driver training for the first light rail system in the Kazakh capital.

As one of the course participants, Nurke Usen, noted, before starting the training, he believed that a dispatcher's job was limited to simply "giving commands." "Now I understand that the dispatch service is the true 'nerve center' of LRT operations, encompassing in-depth analysis, comprehensive coordination, and a host of other specialized tasks," he shared.

The first phase of the Astana LRT project is over 20 kilometers long. It includes 18 stations and one depot. Trains have a design speed of 80 km/h. In April 2024, Tianjin Rail Transport Corporation signed a contract for consulting services for the installation and commissioning of equipment systems, response to adverse weather conditions, equipment procurement, and line reconstruction for the first phase of the Astana LRT project.

Dispatchers are key to ensuring the operation of rail transport, responsible for traffic management, work organization, and emergency response. Ensuring the safety and punctuality of trains requires in-depth knowledge of aspects such as train operations, infrastructure, ventilation, and power supply.

According to the Tianjin Rail Transport Corporation, the training will be conducted in three stages: a one-month theoretical course and on-the-job safety training in Astana, followed by three months of practical training on simulators in Tianjin, and a final stage of hands-on skill development in Astana.

“We are ready to share our technical and management expertise in the construction and operation of rail transport free of charge,” said Wu Bingjun, Chairman of the Board of Tianjin Rail Transport Corporation.

According to him, as the project progresses, a talent pool of local specialists will be created, which will help ensure the timely launch of the LRT in Astana. -0-
