Beijing, December 4 (Xinhua) — Flight CZ6001 departed Tianshan International Airport in Urumqi, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, bound for Moscow on Tuesday. The 135 Chinese on board became the first group of passengers to travel from Urumqi to Moscow since Russia recently introduced a visa-free regime for Chinese citizens, Urumqi Radio and Television reported.

According to Chinese passenger Gao Yunfeng, who frequently travels between China and Russia, the visa-free policy offers significant convenience for tourists, businessmen, and anyone wishing to visit Russia. A direct flight from Urumqi to Moscow takes approximately six hours, saving nearly three hours compared to a flight from Beijing to the Russian capital.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) — A U.S. Air Force F-16C fighter jet crashed early Wednesday, but the pilot ejected safely.

Around 10:45 a.m. local time, "a Thunderbirds pilot safely ejected from an F-16C Fighting Falcon during a training flight over controlled airspace," the Air Force said in a statement.

U.S. Air Force Sergeant Jovante Johnson told the Los Angeles Times in an email that the crashed aircraft belonged to the Thunderbirds, a U.S. demonstration squadron based at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. The cause of the crash is under investigation, he added.

URUMQI, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) — In the first 10 months of this year, exports of seedlings and flowers from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) reached 36,000 tons, worth 697 million yuan, up 406.1 percent and 464.2 percent year-on-year, respectively, according to the customs office of Urumqi, the capital of the region.

As Zhou Tingjun, a representative of a seed company in Xinjiang, noted, this year the company completed the relevant registration procedure to obtain export rights and has now reached an agreement with a client on plans to export a batch of seeds to Tajikistan.

Since the beginning of this year, seedlings and flowers have become a new growth point for Xinjiang's special agricultural exports. BEIJING, December 4 (Xinhua) — China's anthropogenic carbon emissions will increase by 0.6 percent in 2024, significantly lower than the previous year's growth rate and the global average, the China Meteorological Administration reported on Wednesday, indicating that efforts to meet the country's climate commitments are gaining momentum.

These data were published in the China Greenhouse Gas Bulletin 2024, released by the China Meteorological Administration. Domestic growth of 0.6 percent compares favorably with the global average growth rate of 0.8 percent for the same period.

The record global jump is primarily due to continued emissions from fossil fuels, the weakening of natural carbon sinks on land and in the ocean due to extreme heat, and increased emissions from global wildfires.

This is the 14th consecutive year that China has published greenhouse gas monitoring data. The agency reported that it has established a national observation network, including one global background observatory, 18 regional baseline stations, and over 120 observation points.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump proposed on Wednesday easing federal fuel economy rules for passenger car manufacturers.

"We are officially repealing Joseph Biden's CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards," he said at a White House press conference.

Gaza, December 4 (Xinhua) — At least five Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike on a tent containing displaced persons in the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, the local Civil Defense reported.

Ministry spokesman Mahmoud Bazal stated that an airstrike hit a tent in the al-Mawasi neighborhood in western Khan Yunis, killing all five people inside. The bodies were taken to a nearby field hospital.
