According to Yang Wenwu, the best energy consumption among global competitors is approximately 10 kWh of electricity per kilogram of vegetables produced, while the innovative Chinese product consumes less than 6 kWh per kilogram of vegetables.

Chinese engineers also found solutions that allow the floating farm to withstand challenging conditions such as high corrosion and strong vibrations, providing optimal conditions for plant growth on board.

For people working on the high seas, in deep-sea and polar conditions, fresh vegetables were a luxury: deliveries sometimes arrived only once every few weeks or even months. And prolonged shortages of vegetables lead to serious risks to physical and mental health.

WENCHANG, HAINAN PROVINCE, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) — China on Saturday successfully launched a new constellation of low-orbit satellites for satellite internet from the Hainan Commercial Satellite Launch Center in the southern Chinese island province of Hainan.

The Long March-8A launch vehicle lifted off at 3:53 PM Beijing time. It successfully placed the 14th batch of low-orbit internet satellites into their designated orbit.

The Long March 8A, developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, is 50.5 meters long and has a takeoff weight of 371 tons. It can launch a payload of up to 7 tons into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700 km.

This launch vehicle made its maiden flight in February of this year and has since entered into an intensive launch mode.

The current mission marks the first time that a Long March 8 series launch vehicle has switched from conventional petroleum-based rocket kerosene to coal-based rocket kerosene as its primary fuel.

BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) — As of 00:08 on Dec. 6, more than 20 million incoming and outgoing travelers had passed through Beijing's checkpoints since the beginning of 2025, 1.1 times more than the figure for the whole of 2024 and the highest figure since 2020.

OSLO, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) — The Norwegian government on Friday presented to parliament a comprehensive investment proposal aimed at significantly strengthening the country's defense capability by acquiring long-range precision weapons and additional submarines.

According to the document, the authorities plan to spend 19 billion Norwegian kroner (US$1.88 billion) on weapons for the army that will allow it to accurately hit targets at a distance of up to 500 km.
