Phnom Penh, December 11 (Xinhua) — At least 10 Cambodian civilians have been killed and another 60 injured in the current escalation of the border conflict with Thailand, Cambodian Deputy Secretary of State and Defense Ministry Spokesperson Lieutenant General Mali Socheata announced at a briefing on Thursday.

Pyongyang, December 11 (Xinhua) — Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang on Wednesday to offer condolences over the death of Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Alexander Matsegora, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Thursday.

Kim Jong-un laid a bouquet of flowers and observed a minute of silence in memory of A. Matsegora, KCNA reported, adding that he met with members of the grieving family and the leadership of the Russian embassy and expressed his deep condolences.

TAIYUAN, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) — Three people were killed in a fire that broke out in the city of Linfen in north China's Shanxi Province on Wednesday evening, local authorities said Thursday.

A fire broke out in a building in Yaodu District around 8:00 PM on Wednesday, and it was extinguished approximately six hours later.
