BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — China congratulates José Antonio Casta on his election as the new president of Chile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Monday.

BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin on Monday called on the United States to reconsider its strategic perception of China, stop sending wrong signals to separatist forces seeking "Taiwan independence," and refrain from escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait.

BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee expressed firm support on Monday for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) authorities' legal ruling on the case of Li Zhiying.

The High Court of South Africa on Monday found Lee Zhiying, the instigator of the anti-China unrest in Hong Kong, guilty of two counts of conspiring to collaborate with external forces and one count of conspiring to publish inflammatory material.

Li Zhiying was the main instigator and participant in a series of anti-China protests in Hong Kong and was behind an attempt to stage a "color revolution" there, according to a comment posted by the office on its social media account after the court ruling.

SUVA, December 15 (Xinhua) — Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack that occurred during Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.

Bishkek, December 15 /Xinhua/ — Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product (GDP) in January-November 2025, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 1.6 trillion soms (more than 18.6 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 10.2 percent compared to January-November last year, the country's National Statistical Committee reported on Monday.

GDP growth was driven by commodity production, services, and net taxes on products. Compared to January-November of last year, growth rates for commodity production increased by 12%, for services by 8.9%, and for net taxes on products by 10.5%. Of total GDP, the service sector accounted for 49.3%, commodity production for 35.3%, and net taxes on products for 15.4%.

PHNOM PENH, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — Thai armed forces have advanced deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in the 4th Military Region, the Cambodian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

The Thai military has expanded its airstrikes to an area in Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia, the ministry said in a press release. SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) — The Seoul Central District Court on Monday sentenced Noh Sang-won, former head of military intelligence in the Republic of Korea (ROK), to two years in prison and a fine of 24.9 million won (about 16,930 U.S. dollars) for allegedly illegally obtaining personal information.

In June, Noh Sang-won was charged with obtaining information on intelligence agents to form an informal investigative team to investigate alleged election fraud.
