BEIJING, January 6 (Xinhua) — On December 30, 2025, a train fully loaded with photovoltaic modules and auto parts departed from Jinhua South Railway Station in east China's Zhejiang Province for Central Asia via the Horgos Border Crossing in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This marks the first time that the number of freight train departures between Zhejiang Province and Europe as part of China-Europe international rail freight transportation in 2025 has exceeded 3,000, reaching a new all-time high, according to a statement posted on the official website of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
As one of 14 China-Europe (CA) train hubs in China, Zhejiang Province continued efforts to expand channels and create more multimodal transport scenarios in 2025.
In April 2025, the first multimodal rail and road transport route in the Yangtze River Delta region opened: Yiwu (Zhejiang Province) – North Kashgar (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Republic) – Tashkent (Uzbekistan). And in June of last year, China's first trans-Caspian freight route was launched: Jinhua (Zhejiang Province) – Turkmenbashi – Baku.
China-Europe (CA) trains continuously transport goods produced in Zhejiang Province to international markets, including not only everyday items and textiles, but also precision instruments and other high-value-added products.
Statistics show that as of December 30, 2025, a total of 14,900 freight trains had been dispatched between Zhejiang Province and Europe (CA), carrying more than 1.22 million standard containers (TEU). -0-
