The capital plans to implement a comprehensive development project for residential development in the Nagorny District of the Southern Administrative Okrug. Guarantees for citizens who agree to participate in the project are enshrined in a Moscow Government resolution, announced the Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Moscow Department of Urban Development Policy. Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The residential development site is located on Kryvorizka Street. It contains three buildings, two of which were included in the current renovation program in 2017 and are subject to resettlement. The third building is proposed for resettlement under the KRT residential development program.

"The city plans to include a 2.84-hectare site on Krivorozhskaya Street in the integrated residential development project. Residents of the five-story building located there will be offered the opportunity to move to more comfortable apartments in a new building within their district. Owners and tenants under social tenancy agreements will decide voluntarily whether to participate in the project based on a vote. If they agree to include the building in the integrated residential development project, they will be provided with equivalent apartments with no less living space and number of rooms than those being vacated, and a larger total area due to more spacious kitchens, hallways, corridors, and bathrooms," explained Vladislav Ovchinsky.

By on behalf of The Moscow Mayor's program for resettling residents from dilapidated housing is being scaled up and accelerated. It currently affects over 5,000 old buildings. Buildings not included in the 2017 renovation program can be resettled through the KRT residential development mechanism. These projects primarily select buildings whose residents have applied to the city to participate in the renovation program, as well as those that are likely to soon become uninhabitable. The first pilot KRT residential development project on Garibaldi Street in the Cheryomushki district was approved by the city in December 2025.

As part of the integrated development program, attractive public spaces are being created on the sites of former industrial zones, inefficiently used, and undeveloped sites that are seamlessly integrated into the city's overall environment. Currently, nearly 400 integrated development projects, covering a total area of approximately 4,500 hectares, are at various stages of development and implementation in the capital. The program is being implemented inon behalf of Sergei Sobyanin.

Re-marking of a section of the Kyiv Highway near the village of Lapshinki increased its capacity by 23 percent.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

To ensure comfortable and safe travel along the Kyiv Highway section near the exit from the village of Lapshinki, which had previously been problematic, a number of changes were implemented using re-markings according to the Traffic Management Center (TMC) plan.

"We continue to improve road infrastructure as part of the transport development strategy through 2030, approved by Sergei Sobyanin. Last year, under the Traffic Management Center's project, the Kievskoye Highway section near the exit from the village of Lapshinki was remarked and an additional transition and acceleration lane was added. This increased the section's capacity by 23 percent, making traffic there safer and smoother," noted the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

Maxim Liksutov.

Previously, this section caused difficulties entering and exiting the road. Traffic flows intersected: some were turning toward the shopping center, while others were exiting. Drivers who needed to go directly to the gas station had to abruptly change lanes. This led to accidents and slowed down the main flow of traffic heading toward the region.

In 2025, the traffic pattern was changed according to the TsODD project. An additional transition and acceleration lane was installed on the section. Drivers can now easily enter and exit Kyivske Highway and safely pass gas stations without abrupt lane changes. The new markings allow cars to seamlessly merge into traffic without slowing down the main flow.

The monitoring results confirmed that after the re-marking, traffic became more smooth and safe, and the section's capacity increased.

Since 2018, Moscow has been actively implementing projects to improve traffic through re-marking. This method allows for the creation of additional lanes by narrowing existing lanes, allowing for straight-ahead travel, turns, and U-turns. This is especially relevant in areas where widening the road through construction is difficult.

Changing road markings improves travel conditions without unnecessary expense, does not require lengthy lane closures, and is also faster to implement than traditional roadway width increases. This method is effective in both dense urban areas and on high-speed highways with heavy traffic.

On some of the busiest sections of the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD), lanes are being added by slightly narrowing the shoulder lanes and eliminating the shoulders. This allows more vehicles to travel through the sections in the same amount of time, eliminating the bottleneck effect.

Furthermore, transition lanes make exits and exits from the Moscow Ring Road safer. When a driver enters the highway, they must simultaneously accelerate and merge into the main traffic flow to avoid slowing down other vehicles. If at this point the exiting vehicle stops before changing lanes and slowly merges into the right lane, this triggers a chain reaction of braking or a dangerous situation. As a result, traffic speeds decrease both on the exit and in the outer lanes. A transition lane mitigates this effect, preventing slowdowns in the transit lanes.
