Since 2014, a unique platform "City of Ideas" gives residents of the capital the opportunity to make proposals for the development of various spheres of life in the capital. More than 626 thousand people have already joined it, and almost nine thousand ideas have already been implemented in practice. Sergei Sobyanin spoke about how Muscovites are changing the city's sports life in his blog.

“They became especially successful

projects in the field of sports, I spoke about some of them recently. But the residents' proposals are not limited to the creation of new sports grounds. The discussion of various initiatives for the development of publicly accessible physical education and sports has generated enormous interest among Muscovites," the Moscow Mayor wrote.

Participants of a special project in the format of a media platform "The city discusses Moscow sports", organized in March 2025, became almost 100 thousand people, and almost 30 thousand Muscovites within the framework of thematic projects proposed more than five thousand different ideas. Of these, the city took 176 best proposals into work. To date, 34 ideas of city residents have already been implemented.

Walking and running festival, immersive tours and parkour

Thus, in June, on the initiative of Muscovites, the walking and running festival "10,000 steps" was held. On the Boulevard Ring, 250 thousand city residents took part in mass running and walking starts, master classes, sports training, immersive excursions, dancing and other events.

A Nordic walking marathon took place on Tverskoy Boulevard, and an international yoga day took place in Tsaritsyno.

Parkour is actively developing in Moscow. From the beginning of summer until City Day, an extreme park with labyrinths and arches for performing various tricks was opened in Luzhniki. It will operate until City Day as part of the event "Moscow 2030. Sports. Man of the Future".

Training, VR tournaments and adaptive sports

The forum site has several phygital zones where anyone can either practice independently or take part in master classes and tournaments. You can try yourself in phygital hockey, basketball, football, dancing and laser tag.

Thanks to the project "My Sports District" Moscow residents can join Zumba and dance fitness training for free, as well as do yoga and stretching on the roofs of the district centers "Mesto Vstrechi" (Meeting Place).

City residents can also play team sports (football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton), fitness, running, roller sports, aqua aerobics, wushu. And also go skating on the open rink in Luzhniki. In total, this summer, within the framework of the project, you can practice 15 sports on 139 sites.

Muscovites actively support the development of adaptive sports for children with autism and disabilities. Special training helps children not only improve their physical fitness, but also improve their communication skills. This year, they are trained in track and field, cross-country skiing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and alpine skiing. Monthly event announcements posted on mos.ru.

“Thanks to the City of Ideas project, every Muscovite can contribute to the development of the city, and I encourage everyone to share their ideas and proposals,” concluded Sergei Sobyanin.

More than 600 representatives of the Leningrad Region education system gathered in Gatchina for a large-scale pedagogical council to sum up the results of the academic year and determine development vectors for the future. The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Additional and Pre-University Education of SPbPU Dmitry Tikhonov and the Acting Director of the Center for Work with Educational Organizations Georgy Shkolnik.

The topic of the pedagogical council this year was "Education Development Strategy: Consolidation of Federal and Regional Decisions". The forum turned into a key platform for dialogue between the authorities, educational institutions and the expert community. The Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, Senator of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Perminov, Director of the Department of State Policy in the Sphere of Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation Larisa Falkovskaya, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Irina Potekhina and Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region Sergey Bebenin addressed the audience with welcoming words.

The central element of the program was the work of 13 thematic sections. Dmitry Tikhonov spoke at the section "Development of the career guidance potential of the regional education system: specialized pre-professional classes and cluster approach."

The participants of the section discussed the creation and development of a system of specialized pre-professional classes as an effective tool for early career guidance. Particular attention was paid to models of network interaction between schools, colleges, universities and industrial enterprises within the framework of the cluster approach. Dmitry Tikhonov shared with colleagues the successful experience of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in organizing pre-university training and implementing projects aimed at identifying and supporting talented schoolchildren focused on engineering and technical specialties.

Dmitry Vladimirovich spoke about the role of the leading technical university in implementing the cluster approach and forming a continuous educational chain "school – university – enterprise". He shared the experience of SPbPU in organizing project activities of schoolchildren, the work of engineering classes and the implementation of additional education programs that allow identifying and supporting talented applicants focused on engineering specialties.

The report paid special attention to the new stage of development of this project directly in the Leningrad Region. Dmitry Vladimirovich reported that this academic year, with the support of the Committee for General and Professional Education of the Leningrad Region, specialized pre-professional "Engineering IT classes" were created in nine general education organizations of the region.

He called the training of teaching staff an important component. As part of the cooperation, SPbPU has already conducted advanced training for 40 teachers from schools in the Leningrad Region on the topic of "Conducting career guidance work in engineering classes: modern approaches and tools." In addition, more than 100 teachers from St. Petersburg and the region completed a three-month training program for drawing teachers using the domestic software "Nanosoft."

The creation of engineering classes is not a one-time event, but the beginning of a long journey for schoolchildren. We help not only to give them in-depth knowledge, but to immerse them in a professional environment, show real tasks and form motivation to obtain an engineering education, which is in demand by leading industrial enterprises of the Leningrad Region. Participation in such large-scale regional events as the pedagogical council is extremely important for the university. This allows us to directly interact with the pedagogical community, build long-term partnerships with schools and, ultimately, train specialists for high-tech sectors of the economy, – noted Dmitry Tikhonov.

The council members developed specific proposals for scaling up the best practices of career guidance work throughout the region, which will be taken into account in the strategy for the development of education in the Leningrad Region.

An award ceremony for the best teachers in the region was also held. For significant achievements in the field of education and many years of conscientious work, 38 representatives of the Leningrad Region education system received state and regional awards.

SPbPU Master from Nigeria Ibeojo Godwin Ojore: "Use all the opportunities"

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Ibeojo Godwin Ojore, a graduate of the SPbPU Master's program from Nigeria in the field of "Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering", told us about his unusual path from Africa to one of the leading technical universities in Russia and shared his impressions of his studies.

– Godwin, good afternoon! How did you end up in Russia and at the Polytechnic?

— I came to Russia seven years ago for a quality higher education — I completed both my bachelor's and master's degrees here. I chose Russia because of its strong engineering school and prospects. I entered the Polytechnic University for several reasons: I was attracted by the quality of teaching in English, my friends recommended the university, and the deciding factor was a scholarship won as a result of the Open Doors international Olympiad for master's degrees. And I can say: I fell in love with this country!

— Why did you choose energy?

— My interest was born from personal experience. As children, we constantly faced power outages. This awakened a desire to solve such problems. Participation in competitions and communication with passionate people, including my brother, an electrical engineer, strengthened my choice. I realized that I wanted to contribute to the development of energy.

— Tell us about your scientific work at the Polytechnic.

— My supervisor suggested delving deeper into nuclear energy, and I agreed. Although my first application for the competition did not pass, I did not give up. I began to actively attend conferences and gain experience. An unforgettable experience was the World Youth Festival in Sochi in 2023! Winter schools are especially valuable: there I deepened my knowledge and represented Russian and global nuclear energy.

— What were your first impressions of St. Petersburg and the Polytechnic?

— First, it’s very cold! I’m from the south, where winter is minus five. It was a shock! But then the architecture captivated me — incredibly beautiful. And at the Polytechnic… The teachers are just perfect! They explain things perfectly, they’re always ready to help, even if you write at night. The level of the lecturers is very high. Studying in English for a master’s degree is a great solution, a diploma in English is a big plus.

— What was the most difficult?

— Honestly, the master's degree did not seem very difficult, since it was in English, the bachelor's degree was more difficult. The main difficulty for foreigners is the Russian language. The teachers were my main support. They gave additional materials, links, explained things instantly. I did not spend much time trying to figure it out myself.

— How did you cope with the workload?

— Personal life? There was almost none! I worked and studied at the same time, I had to provide for myself. So I concentrated on lectures and studied at night, from twelve to three. In the morning — classes, then work. That’s how I built my schedule.

— Were there any difficulties with adaptation or language?

— The bureaucracy was generally clear, only at the beginning, in the international department, there were queues due to the workload. With the language? Oh yes! When I arrived in November 2018, it was incredibly difficult. The academic language of the teachers was new to me. Thanks to the senior students — they advised me to record lectures, then analyze them at home, take pictures of the slides. Now I understand almost everything!

— Did you manage to immerse yourself in Russian culture?

— Yes! I have Russian friends, I have visited them, listened to music, tried the cuisine. I didn’t like all the dishes right away (at first the borscht seemed like “water” after our thick soups), but I try to respect the culture and people. The experience was very positive. I also celebrate holidays — New Year, Christmas. I go to visit friends out of town. It’s like family.

— What are your plans after graduation?

— A difficult question! I applied for an Open Doors scholarship for postgraduate studies. But now I think that I want not pure electrical engineering, but something related to business applications (engineering, project management), since I plan to start my own business. I want to get real practical experience, I am looking for an internship or a job. A Polytechnic diploma will definitely help — the university is very prestigious, it is known and respected at conferences. It opens doors.

— What is your main advice to future foreign students of the Polytechnic University?

— Take advantage of all the opportunities! Participate in programs, conferences, anything! Networking is key. Meet people, make friends. Sometimes connections are more important than knowledge alone. Don’t be afraid to come and ask. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask questions, even if they seem stupid! The teachers here are always ready to help. And get more involved in extracurricular activities — I was too focused on studying and work, and this needs to be corrected. Polytechnic has a lot to offer!

Financial news: Citizens will be able to connect a “second hand” service to protect themselves from fraudsters

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Central Bank of Russia –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

From September 1st this year, people will have new opportunity protect yourself and your loved ones from fraudsters. Control over banking operations can now be entrusted to a relative or friend, who will have the right to confirm or reject money transfers if they seem suspicious. At the same time, the assistant will not have access to the account and the right to carry out independent operations.

This measure will protect the most vulnerable citizens, especially the elderly, from fraudsters, and will also strengthen parental control over transfers by teenagers, who often find themselves involved in dropper schemes without proper understanding of the negative consequences.

The transaction is confirmed or rejected within 12 hours from the moment of notification. Only the client can initiate the service connection. Each bank determines the method of service connection independently. If the client refuses the service, the bank will be obliged to disconnect it within 24 hours. Such a cooling-off period will reduce the risk of the "second hand" service being disconnected under the influence of fraudsters.

The mechanism applies to money transfers, including those using bank cards, transfers through the Fast Payment System and cash withdrawals.

Financial news: Imports rose in Q2 while exports fell.

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Central Bank of Russia –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Imports in the second quarter of 2025 expanded compared to the same period last year, largely due to services, including increased spending by Russians on trips abroad. The growth of imports of goods was restrained by factors such as an increase in the recycling fee, large inventories, and high interest rates on loans.

Exports, on the other hand, remained below last year's level. This was due to lower world prices for oil and coal, OPEC oil production restrictions, reduced grain stocks and export quotas.

As a result of the decline in exports and the increase in imports in dollar terms, the current account surplus declined in the second quarter.

Financial news: On changes in the mechanism for executing perpetual futures on indices, precious metals and shares of Russian issuers

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Exchange – Moscow Exchange –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

From August 29, 2025, changes will be made to the specifications of one-day futures contracts with automatic rollover on indices, precious metals and shares of Russian issuers in terms of the contract execution mechanism.

By analogy with perpetual currency futures, a one-time payment of 3% of the nominal value of the contract is introduced, which is paid by the client who submitted the execution order in favor of the client whose positions were executed without submitting the order.

The changes are intended to unify the contract execution mechanism introduced in April 2025 for perpetual currency futures with other perpetual contracts and to increase the predictability of working with instruments for all categories of clients.

In connection with testing the new contract execution mechanism, the nearest date for submitting orders for execution of IMOEXF, GLDRUBF, SBERF, GAZPF futures is postponed from September 4 to December 4, 2025. Thus, in September, the submission of orders for execution under these contracts is not provided. The date for submitting orders for execution of USDRUBF, CNYRUBF, EURRUBF contracts remains unchanged – September 4, 2025.

The execution of orders is carried out in the manner prescribed by the clearing rules of the NCO NCC (JSC) and the specifications of contracts:

execution of orders takes place in the evening clearing of the day of submission of the order; when executing orders, a clearing commission of 0.1% is charged, as well as a one-time payment of 3% of the nominal value of the contract, which is paid by the party that submitted the order for execution in favor of the party whose positions were executed without the submission of the ordery1sh. The formula for calculating the payment is reflected in the specification; execution is carried out by two transactions: closing a position in a one-day contract and opening a position in the nearest quarterly futures (these transactions are carried out at the settlement price of the perpetual contract during evening clearing); first, the counter orders are executed; the remaining orders that are not executed as a result of the execution of the counter orders are executed without submitting an order; the selection of settlement codes, the positions of which are executed without submitting orders, occurs proportionally to the volume of open positions in descending order of the volume of open positions (opposite direction).

Detailed information on the dates of submission and execution of orders, as well as the execution mechanism, is provided on the pages HTTPS: //VVV. MEEX.K.M.K., HTTPS: //VVV. MEEX.K.M.M., HTTPS: //VVV. MOEX.MO/A8803 And HTTPS: //VVV. MEEX.MO/A8805.

New editions of the perpetual contract specifications have been posted on the Moscow Exchange website HTTPS: //VVV. MOEX.K.M.K..

y1sh Clearing fees are charged to all clients whose positions were executed on the order. A one-time fee is not charged in the case of execution of two counter orders and is charged if the execution of the order resulted in execution of contracts of the party that did not submit the order. Financial News: Microloan Market Returns to Growth with More Affordable Loans

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Central Bank of Russia –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The market driver in Q2 2025 was loans with a moderate interest rate, where the total cost of credit (TCC) does not exceed 100% per annum. First of all, this is the issuance of new tranches within previously opened credit lines for the purchase of goods on marketplaces and online retail outlets. At the same time, the share of the most expensive loans decreased to 47.6%, falling below half of quarterly consumer loans issued by microfinance organizations (MFOs) for the first time.

The volume of loans issued by microfinance organizations associated with the largest marketplaces and non-banking settlement credit organizations once again exceeded the figures of independent microfinance organizations, which, on the contrary, have been declining in loans for the second quarter in a row.

The quality of the MFI loan portfolio has worsened in both the business and consumer loan segments: the level of overdue loans over 90 days has increased after a long decline. The main reason was the maturing of overdue loans on consumer loans issued in Q4 2024 and Q1 2025. Only 11% of the volume of loans issued during this period ended in full repayment, with clients not taking out new loans. Almost half of the loans were issued to borrowers who, after repaying one loan, took out a new one and fell into a debt spiral, and in 20% of cases, their debt increased. Among loans with overdue payments, in every fourth case, borrowers failed to cope with the debt burden on the first payment. On the one hand, this indicates excessive indebtedness of citizens, and on the other, the continued increased risk appetite of MFIs.

The introduction of a new system of credit will help reduce the debt burden of citizens the obligation to take into account only the official income of the borrower when assessing his debt burden, and also limiting the number of expensive loans in operation at the same timeand establishing a cooling-off period between them.
