The State University of Management has launched a program for teachers called “Conductors of Meanings. DNA of Russia”

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Official website of the State –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

On September 11, 2025, the first stream of the educational program for teachers of higher education "Guides of Meanings. DNA of Russia" was launched at the State University of Management. The organizers of the program are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs "Rosmolodezh", the State University of Management and the "DNA of Russia" project.

More than 300 employees from 60 universities, representing over 20 regions of the country, gathered at the SUM IT Center.

Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Olga Petrova addressed the meeting participants with a welcoming speech, noting the high level of organization of the event by the State University of Management.

"Thank you to everyone who agreed to become our assistants in creating a sustainable value-based teaching framework, which is critically important for conveying meanings and values to students. The President set a national goal – to educate a harmoniously developed, socially responsible individual based on spiritual and moral values and historical traditions. In achieving this goal, teachers play a leading role. They are the ones who are examples for students. Only together can we implement what was conceived and achieve the set goal. Thank you, GUU, for not being afraid to be the first," Olga Viktorovna noted.

On behalf of the State University of Management, the audience was greeted by Vice-Rector Pavel Pavlovsky, who thanked the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for choosing the State University of Management as the launching pad for the new program.

"Rector Vladimir Stroyev often emphasizes the primary meaning of the word "state" in the name of our university. And the key tasks facing the state will be determined by the meanings and values that we will talk about today. I really like the name "DNA of Russia". I am sure that the community of teachers is a community of the smartest people in the country. And if we cannot explain to a student why he is studying and what his goal is after completing his studies, then this is a failure. And we will not allow this failure," concluded Pavel Vladimirovich.

Olga Petrova also gave a presentation on the role of a teacher in the context of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 07.05.2024 No. 309 "On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 and for the perspective up to 2036". The Deputy Minister emphasized that each of the designated goals concerns education and gave examples of successful actions by universities to improve the relevant indicators.

The head of the educational program, President of the MAKO Association Olga Golyshenkova, spoke in more detail about the structure of the educational program, for the participation of which everyone gathered, and its main tasks. The expert noted that each teacher influences the perception and value systems of students and it is important to understand how to consciously influence the future of individuals and the country as a whole.

Tatyana Kuznetsova, Head of the Department for Work with Alumni of the Presidential Academy's Youth Policy Department, shared a successful example of creating a community of teachers, the "Club of Meaning Creators".

The scientific director of the “DNA of Russia” project, Vice-Rector of the Presidential Academy Andrey Polosin introduced those gathered to the history of the project’s creation and the worldview and values that were embedded in it.

During the two-day intensive course, participants will work in groups, formulating values and key meanings in practice, as well as discussing ways to convey them, will share successful cases and real-life experiences, and will also defend the results of their work.

It should be noted that the program "Conductors of Meanings. DNA of Russia" is a continuation of the program "Voice of a Generation. Teachers", one of the streams of which also took place in 2024 also at the State University of Management. The start of the program on September 11 marked the beginning of a series of 25 streams in universities throughout Russia.

RUDN University student on her experience of volunteering at the Voronye Gnezdo center

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Peoples'Friendship University of Russia –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

A student of the RUDN Institute of Ecology, Daria Dobrova (major: "Energy and Resource-Saving Processes in Chemical Technology, Petrochemistry and Biotechnology", 2nd year) spent a week in the summer as a volunteer at the Voronye Gnezdo wild bird rehabilitation center in the Vladimir region.

Daria talked about the funny habits of the center's inhabitants, what amazed her on the first day, and what new skills she acquired during her stay at the center.

How did you hear about the opportunity to volunteer at the Crow's Nest?

I learned about the center in one of the Telegram channels, I often take information about volunteering or conferences from there and share it with others. I really like volunteering; as a rule, I get more benefit from it than the organization itself. It is not difficult for me to help with basic things, while gaining new experience, acquaintances and having fun.

Describe your very first feelings and impressions when you first arrived in the center. What struck you most: the birds, the people, the place?

I was amazed by everything about this place, especially by the fact that some birds walked around the territory calmly, without any control or fear, and sometimes even tried to scare the volunteers. The rehabilitation center has a fairly large territory and many enclosures with a lot of birds. I was very surprised how the girls cope with all this, but the workers were very calm and kind.

Tell us about your responsibilities. What was the most difficult and how did you cope with it?

The immersion into the work began from the first day. I was met by both the permanent inhabitants of the center: geese, peacocks, guinea fowl, and its temporary residents – wild birds undergoing rehabilitation before being released back into the wild. I looked after the chicks and fed the birds of prey. The work itself is not too hard: if you needed to drag a lot of pieces of meat or frozen chickens, you could take a wheelbarrow and make your life easier. The hardest part was waking up at seven in the morning and delivering food in the scorching sun. However, after finishing all the routine, you could take a nap for a couple of hours before the next feeding of the chicks.

What funny stories involving the center's feathered inhabitants can you share?

From such situations I can remember how in the first days I stroked all the birds that were not against it. So, together with another volunteer girl, I came across a Muscovy duck that was not afraid of people and did not run away when we approached. We stroked her neck and back, and in response she began to make funny sounds and somehow pleasantly pinch the skin. It seemed to us that she liked it, and this is how she showed her love. However, at the end of the day, another girl read information about these birds, and it turned out that the duck was very angry and tried to drive us away.

When I came to feed the crows, who could not yet feed themselves, some adult birds happily pretended to be chicks in order to get food from the tweezers. Other birds of prey did not like my visits very much, but I still managed to hold a long-eared owl and a kestrel on my hand. And the storks showed great interest in the keychains on the phones. I was also surprised and a little scared by one of the magpies. I came to feed these birds, and at some point it seemed to me that one magpie was croaking something in response, I even began to make out the words. The bird asked: "Who is there?", "Who came?", "How are you?" and "Did you see?" In shock, I found another volunteer and went to show the talking magpie to make sure that my head was not on fire. I bring a witness – the magpie is silent. And only after some time the bird got completely used to me and it turned out that she really could talk, I even recorded her conversations on video.

What did you do in your free time from working at the center?

In our free time, other volunteers and I could relax, swim in the river, or play board games. It was fun!

What was the most emotional moment of the whole week for you?

Perhaps the most emotional moments have always been the deaths of birds. Unfortunately, with so many wards and released birds, deaths are inevitable. Once I came to feed the crows and found in their enclosure not even a dead bird, but the remains of a skeleton and wings. It had been completely eaten by its own relatives.

What knowledge about birds and working with them, their rehabilitation did you gain during your volunteer work?

At first, I didn't even know half of these birds, and there was no talk of the intricacies of handling them! But volunteering opened up a whole world for me. I learned to distinguish not only the species – from predators to waterfowl – but also their ages – from fledglings (I didn't even know such a word existed) to adult birds. The most valuable thing was the understanding that each bird requires its own approach. For example, you can't hand-feed a predator like a duck – this is both dangerous and can make it tame, and our main goal is to preserve its wild instincts so that it can return to the wild.

After working at the center, did your view of your future profession change? Did you have a clearer understanding of your path?

I love animals, and after volunteering at the Crow's Nest, I thought about the direction of my future activities and became more determined to work in the field of nature conservation. Even before entering, like any inspired student, I wanted to work in my profession, but nevertheless, I was worried about whether my education would be useful. After volunteering at the center, I am thinking of moving further in the agricultural direction, so I entered the evening department of the direction "Zootechnics" of the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after K.I. Skryabin.

What would you say to other RUDN students who would like to try this kind of volunteering? Why should they do it and how can they get this opportunity?

I would advise not to miss such opportunities, life can always take an unexpected turn. Some of the rehabilitation center workers who were with me on shift also came as volunteers, even without an education in the required field, and simply became attached to the work. It is worth trying such an unusual business at least for personal experience. Perhaps they will also spend time usefully and enjoy the work, and if not, this experience will become an interesting story for a group of friends. As for how to get such an opportunity… I have no experience in handling wild birds, only with a pet parrot, so all that is needed here is the desire of a student and regular monitoring of volunteer programs. I am involved in the volunteer department of our university student scientific community Greenlab, I constantly monitor the social networks of green organizations and send the guys the most interesting things, and also agitate them to go with me. And I myself plan to repeat the trip to the "Crow's Nest" next year.

Polytechnic student Anna Kurakina is a master of the all-Russian project "Gelendzhik"

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Another work season of the Polytechnic student teams is coming to an end. As always, it brought a lot of new impressions, bright emotions and unusual experience. For Anna Kurakina from the service team "Altair" this summer was special. The 4th-year student of the IPMEiT majoring in "Human Resources Management" joined the headquarters of the All-Russian service project "Gelendzhik". As a foreman, she coordinated the activities of the joint student team of the same name.

The project participants worked in the hotels "METROPOL Grand Hotel Gelendzhik 5*" and "Primorye Grand Resort Hotel". 130 students from ten regions of Russia worked as maids, cooks, bartenders, waiters, laundry operators, housekeepers, creating a premium service for city guests. Before employment, each of them mastered an additional working profession for free.

For Anna Kurakina, participation in the all-Russian project was not accidental. Back in 2023, the girl took first place in the "Cook" competency at the professional skills competition of student service teams in St. Petersburg. In 2024, she entered the top three winners of this competition in the "Maid" competency at the city level and became the winner in the Northwestern Federal District.

"For me, the Gelendzhik project is, first of all, an opportunity to meet interesting people. Here, representatives of different regions exchange experiences, talk about themselves, this helps to develop the squad's horizons and take note of something," Anna shared her impressions of participating in the project. "I also tell everyone about the St. Petersburg squads, our traditions, events. It is very pleasant when the commander of one of the squads comes to you and says that he really liked "Svoy Zal" – a festival of non-professional short films shot by fighters of the student squads of St. Petersburg! Being a master of the all-Russian labor project is, of course, difficult, but no less interesting. Every day brings new challenges, and we solve them all together."

Schoolchildren Choose the Future. Open Day at the Polytechnic

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Last Saturday, the Main Academic Building of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University was once again filled with ringing voices and inquisitive glances. The University held a big celebration for future applicants and their parents, which combined three key events at once: Open Day of Children's Education, Open Day of Preparatory Courses, and the exciting Polytech Quest.

This day became a real journey into the world of science and technology for guests of all ages. Schoolchildren were able to touch the future, and their parents were able to get answers to all questions about additional education and preparation for admission to the largest engineering university in Russia.

From Robots to Drones: The Future Starts Here

The exhibition of clubs and master classes became the center of attraction for future engineers. Children from 5th to 11th grade were able to immerse themselves in the world of additive technologies. They learned how to print on 3D printers, understood the principles of drones and got acquainted with robots under the guidance of experienced mentors and current students.

The key university departments working with schoolchildren presented their programs: the Center for Work with Applicants, the Center for Work with Educational Organizations, the House of Scientists in Lesnoy, the Creative Studio, the Sports Complex, preparatory courses for the Engineering and Construction Institute, and the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education. The Academy of Informatics for Schoolchildren also introduced future graduates to its programs and organized an exciting quest. The SPbPU History Museum opened its exposition for the children, and the Natural Sciences Lyceum told about admission for graduates from the 9th grade. In addition to the university's educational programs, the guests learned about the opportunities to participate in Olympiads, competitions, and shifts at the Sirius Educational Center.

An Open Day of the Polytechnic preparatory courses was held especially for high school students and their parents. Guests had a unique opportunity to personally communicate with teachers and organizers, ask all questions about preparing for the Unified State Exam, Basic State Exam and entrance examinations, learn about the intricacies of admission and immediately enroll in courses.

An intellectual adventure in the heart of campus

The Polytechnic Quest for schoolchildren from the Academy of Informatics was a bright end to the day. The teams went on an intellectual walk around the Polytechnic Park. They had to find checkpoints and complete tasks that required not only logic and erudition, but also the ability to work in a team.

Traditionally, at the very beginning of the academic year, we opened the doors of the university to schoolchildren of different ages. Attracting talent is the most important vector of development of engineering education and Polytechnic is always at the forefront. Last Saturday clearly showed that the interest of schoolchildren and their parents in this area is growing exponentially. We tried to show everyone that we are waiting for them within our walls today, it is not necessary to wait for graduation, – noted the head of the Directorate of Pre-University Education and Talent Attraction Nikolay Snegirev.

The next meetings with Polytechnic are just around the corner. The University is already preparing new events for everyone who is passionate about science and technology.
