An intuitive interface and convenient filters will help you choose the right site in a few clicks. "Active Citizens" to Choose Names for Red-Listed Demoiselle Crane Chicks from Moscow Zoo

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The Active Citizen project has begun vote for names for new inhabitants Moscow Zoo— chicks of the red-listed demoiselle crane.

The story of the birds is similar to the plot of a movie: employees of the Baikal airport in Ulan-Ude discovered a clutch of eggs of a rare bird near the runway. Ornithological engineers reported the amazing find to specialists. The Moscow Zoo immediately offered its help.

A real rescue operation began. Two eggs were placed in a thermal container, and this fragile and valuable cargo was delivered to the capital by plane. In Moscow, the eggs were placed in an incubator, and in early June, chicks were born – a male and a female.

Today, the babies actively interact with the employees of the reproduction center, eat with pleasure and even walk around the enclosure. The crane chicks will learn to fly at the end of the summer. Visitors to the Moscow Zoo can already see the birds.

"Active citizens" will have to name the feathered brother and sister. Zoologists from Ulan-Ude suggest naming them after rivers flowing through the picturesque lands of Buryatia.

Among the options for the male are Barguzin and Vitim, named after the major waterways of Siberia. The names Temnik and Chikoy, which are also tributaries of the Selenga River, are being considered. Another possible option is Irkut, the name of a river flowing through the territory of Buryatia and the Irkutsk region.

The female can be named Selenga after the largest river flowing into Lake Baikal. Alternative options include Turka (another river filling the Baikal bowl) and Oka. Chuya is reminiscent of the right tributary of the Lena, and Snezhnaya is a river that originates in the snows of the Khamar-Daban ridge.

The voting was prepared by the capital Department of Culture and the project "Active Citizen"Its users have already chosen names for many animals, including Papuan Kalao Bird, Malayan bears Masha, Luchik and Zvezdochka, Alpaca Zephyra, hyena Akela, panda Katyusha AndTiger Amur.

Project "Active Citizen" has been operating since 2014. During this time, more than seven million people have joined it, and more than seven thousand votes have been held. Every month, 30 to 40 decisions are implemented in the city. The project is being developed by the State Institution "New Management Technologies" and the capital Department of Information Technology.

Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University received a representative delegation from Indonesia headed by Professor Mohammad Nuh, former Minister of Education and Culture of the country and now Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Tenth of November Technological Institute. The visit was an important step in strengthening academic ties between our countries following the recent visit of the President of Indonesia to Russia.

The delegation included the heads of three prestigious Indonesian universities: Ainun Naim (Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Terbuka – Open University of Indonesia), Syafsir Ahlus (Chairman of the Academic Council of the Tenth of November Institute of Technology), Canif Nurcholis (Chairman of the Academic Council of the University of Terbuka), Muhammad Faishol Aminuddin (lecturer at the University of Brawijaya).

The negotiations, led by SPbPU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Lyudmila Pankova, focused on five key areas of cooperation. The parties discussed the launch of academic mobility programs for students and teachers, including the "1 1" (Master's) and "2 2" (Bachelor's) models, with special attention to teaching in English. Negotiations are underway to create joint double degree programs in engineering and IT specialties that correspond to the Polytechnic University's priorities: systems digital engineering, automation of production and new materials, artificial intelligence.

"Partnership with leading universities in Indonesia is extremely important to us," emphasized Lyudmila Pankova. "Of the 33,000 students at the Polytechnic, more than 5,000 are foreigners, but only 16 are Indonesians so far. We see huge potential for growth and integration of our educational models, especially in engineering and online learning. This visit sets the vector of interaction with several leading universities at once."

The topic of online education occupied a special place in the negotiations. Here, the key role was played by the exchange of experience between Terbuka University, a recognized leader in the field of open distance learning, holding prestigious accreditations from the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) and the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, awarded 5 QS stars for online education.

Director of the SPbPU Open Education Center Svetlana Kalmykova and the Indonesians agreed to cooperate in several strategic areas: joint development of methodologies for creating and analyzing the “digital footprint” of students, mutual placement of courses on leading international (Coursera, Open Education) and national platforms, pilot projects to create joint online courses in English on engineering disciplines.

This cooperation will allow SPbPU to integrate Terbook's unique experience in working with a mass audience (more than 500,000 students), and Indonesian partners will adopt Russian developments in the field of integrating online courses into formal educational programs and advanced EdTech solutions developed at the Polytechnic University's Open Education Center.

The guests visited the leading laboratories of SPbPU: the Robotics Center, the Additive Technologies Laboratory, the Lightweight Materials and Structures Laboratory. All Indonesian universities expressed interest in the earliest possible signing of framework agreements (memorandums of understanding) and individual mobility agreements with SPbPU.

"We are grateful for the hospitality," said Mohammad Nuh. "We are acting in line with the strategic course set by the recent visit of the President of Indonesia to Russia, and we see academic partnership as one of the key drivers of development of our countries. The technological power of the Polytechnic University, its advanced engineering schools and unique experience in digitalization of education are exactly the competencies that the Indonesian economy and higher education system urgently need."

The delegation also visited the Main Building of SPbPU and talked with Indonesian students of the university.

Specialists from the city services complex have completed 50 percent of the work on landscaping the territory of the Vinogradovo estate in the northeast of the capital, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Landscaping Petr Biryukov.

"This year we are putting in order part of the territory of the Vinogradovo estate in the Dolgie Prudy nature reserve. This territory is a cultural heritage site, so its special protected status was taken into account when developing the project. As part of the work, we will preserve the historical appearance and planning composition of the park as much as possible, while adapting the space for modern use," noted Petr Biryukov.

Workers are installing eco-trails behind the front area of the estate and near the Maly Dolgy Pond, installing lanterns and replacing fences. They are also building a sports cluster with a skate park, a multi-purpose field for playing mini-football and volleyball, and a workout zone.

Most of the infrastructure will be located on eco-flooring so as not to harm nature. Pockets with gazebos for rest, benches, a rotunda with hanging swings and a place for events will be integrated into it. Specialists have already begun arranging a children's play area.

In the front area near the eastern and western wings, the road will be repaired, and on Dolgoprudnaya Alley, the roadway and sidewalks will be put in order, and contrasting lighting lamps will be installed.

From August 8 to 17, 2025, the Skolkovo Innovation Center will host the Drone Garage exhibition and competition of technological solutions. This is part of the project-educational intensive course Archipelago 2025 at the international forum Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future. The event will be held as part of the forum-festival Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030.

"Drone Garage" will unite about 100 teams from more than 30 regions of Russia. Startups, student and scientific project groups, as well as specialized companies with serial production will take part in the exhibition-competition. Among them are the organization "Kaisant" with one of the best communication systems and the company "Gorny-TsOT" with high-quality brushless motors of domestic production, which have already proven themselves in the industry of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

The exhibition-competition will be located in the hemisphere of the Central Park of the Skolkovo Innovation Center. Flight zones will be allocated nearby for the contestants to confirm the declared technical characteristics of the products.

The goal of the project is to identify and support talented initiatives that contribute to the technological development of Russia. Participants will present projects that solve current industry problems and test them. The best of them will receive certificates confirming technical characteristics.

“Drone Garage is a unique platform where everyone who develops the UAS industry meets — from experienced developers with finished products to enthusiasts whose ideas are just beginning to take shape. We have specifically created three leagues of participants to be open to everyone — for companies that are already bringing their projects to market, for startups looking for a path to scaling, and even for small “garage” teams with promising projects that are yet to become startups and, perhaps, change the industry,” said Polina Mozgaleva, Deputy Director of the Competence Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems of the ANO “University of the National Technological Initiative 2035”.

The competition accepts projects aimed at introducing, improving and expanding the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in industry and everyday life. Persons over 14 years of age can participate, both individually and in teams.

Development areas: designs (original design solutions for improving UAV flight characteristics), software packages (development of a unique software package or individual functions), modifications and modules (improvement of UAV designs, creation of original modules) and other innovative projects in the field of UAS.

The competition is held in two stages. During the correspondence stage (until July 20), experts evaluated projects based on technical requirements, relevance and novelty. During the in-person stage (August 8–17), finalists will present their solutions and demonstrate their functionality. Projects that successfully pass the testing of the declared characteristics will receive a confirmation certificate. In 2024, 39 of the 44 technological solutions that passed the selection were awarded.

Moscow Mayor's Cup in Drone Racing to be held in August in Skolkovo

The International Forum "Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future" will be held in Moscow for the first time from August 7 to 17 on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It will bring together leading experts, developers, manufacturers and exporters from more than 30 countries. The event will include a project-based educational intensive course "Archipelago 2025", a business program with a discussion of current industry topics, drone competitions and the international pilot championship "Moscow Mayor's Cup". Participants will also be able to visit an exhibition of the latest achievements in the field of UAS and take part in master classes on managing sports drones and delivery technologies.

During the first half of 2025, capital customers held more than two thousand joint quotation sessions onSuppliers portal.

This format allowed the city's institutions to save almost 500 million rubles. This was reported by Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.

"The format of joint quotation sessions on the supplier portal allows customers to join purchases initiated by other institutions in the same region. Large purchases attract more suppliers, which increases competition between them and allows saving budget funds. In January-June of this year, more than two thousand joint purchases worth 1.2 billion rubles took place on the portal, which is 35 percent higher than the figure for the same period last year. As a result, the city saved 486 million rubles – 73 percent more than in the first half of 2024," said Maria Bagreeva.

The opportunity for Moscow customers to participate in joint purchases appeared onSuppliers portal in autumn 2023. The organizer of the quotation session must specify the format "Joint purchase" and invite one or more customers from their region who need goods from the same category. The purchase will be available for publication after each customer specifies the quantity of products they need.

"The largest share in the volume of joint purchases — 309.2 million rubles — was for construction goods. Household goods and appliances came in second place — they were purchased for 123.8 million rubles. The top three included paper and office supplies, the purchase volume of which amounted to 96 million rubles," said the head of the Moscow City Department for Competition Policy

Kirill Purtov.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin reported that in the first half of 2025, the suppliers’ portal purchases amounting to almost 58 billion rubles.

The Supplier Portal is a convenient modern tool for entrepreneurs from all over the country. The operational format of purchases on the resource allows you to quickly conclude a contract, fulfill the conditions and make a profit.

As noted in the capital Department of Information Technology, to optimize the process of participation in quotation sessions and attract new users, a new feature appeared on the platform in 2022 auto betting bot. With its help, suppliers can participate in several quotation sessions at once. The service does not guarantee victory in a mini-auction, but it significantly saves entrepreneurs' time, optimizes their resources, and also promotes increased competition and a reduction in the initial contract price for customers.

A quotation session is a mini-auction, where participants compete with each other, consistently reducing the initial maximum price of the contract. Such procedures last for three, six or 24 hours. The winner is the participant who offered the lowest price.

Suppliers portal appeared in 2013 to automate small-volume purchases. Entrepreneurs offer more than 3.2 million goods, works and services. Every day, about 1.5 thousand contracts are concluded on the platform.

Representative offices operate in the regions to support users. There, specialists teach how to manage the platform, answer questions from customers and suppliers, hold face-to-face meetings, and collect suggestions for improving functions and solving technical problems. In addition, users can contact the support service at a single federal number: 7 800 303-12-34 or leave a request atwebsite.

The functional customer of the portal is the capital Department of Competition Policy, and its technical development is supervised by Department of Information Technology of the City of Moscow.

Development of electronic services for business corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State" and the Moscow regional project "Digital Public Administration".
