The team from the State University of Management took part in the project-based educational intensive course “Archipelago 2025”, which took place from August 7 to 17, 2025, on the territory of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, and, based on the results of the training, entered the top 25 among representatives of Russian universities.

Representatives of the State University of Management were included in the “Acceleration School” track, during which, over the course of 9 days, more than 70 university teams worked on a draft strategy for developing acceleration programs for their universities.

SUM acceleration programs are special educational projects aimed at accelerated development of students', young professionals' and entrepreneurs' competencies in various areas of business, technology and innovation. Such programs provide participants with the opportunity to quickly immerse themselves in relevant topics, acquire practical skills and experience necessary for a successful startup or career growth.

The main goals of the acceleration programs of the State University of Management include: 1. Development of entrepreneurial skills: training in the basics of running a business, strategic planning, financial analysis and marketing; 2. Formation of innovative solutions: stimulating participants to create new products and services, solving real business problems; 3. Increasing competitiveness: preparing graduates for work in a rapidly changing labor market and economy; 4. Creation of a startup ecosystem: support for projects at early stages of development, including mentoring, access to resources and investors.

The following took part in the Acceleration School: Director of the Center for Prospective Development Tatyana Gordeeva, Director of the Department of Academic Policy and Implementation of Educational Programs Natalia Starkova, Leading Specialist of the Department of Academic Policy and Implementation of Educational Programs Olga Gatilova, as well as a representative of the partner company, Head of the Center for Project Entrepreneurship LLC IPI-Lab Olga Barannikova.

During the training, the participants conducted an in-depth study of the key components of acceleration programs, identifying problems and finding tools to solve them. Every day there were lectures, group work, defense of developed projects in the pitch format, as well as "mentor lounges" where experts gave feedback on projects and answered questions of concern to the audience.

"The high intensity of work throughout all the days allowed us to deeply immerse ourselves in the process, identify new meanings and approaches that will become the basis for future acceleration programs of the State University of Management. The development of technological entrepreneurship in the context of state national projects is today becoming a priority and significant area that helps to unlock the potential of students and create an innovative environment at the university," noted the participants of the GUU ProTech team.

Let us recall that young scientists from the State University of Management also took part in the intensive course “Archipelago 2025”.

"Our experience is unique": GUU became a prize winner of the All-Russian competition of the best practices of volunteer and social activities in Russian universities

The results of the All-Russian competition of the best practices of volunteer and public activities in Russian universities have been summed up. The State University of Management was among the winners.

The aim of the competition is to identify and support best practices in engaging students in volunteering and community service, as well as to recognise mentors and teams who help young people realise their potential.

The competition is being implemented within the framework of the national project “Youth and Children” and the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 309 of May 7, 2024 on national development goals for 2030–2036.

An expert commission was responsible for the honesty and high level of evaluation, which included: – representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia; – leaders of the largest volunteer and volunteer organizations; – representatives of federal and regional departments; – activists of student associations.

The State University of Management took 2nd place among the best practices in implementing the Service Learning program.

The unique educational methodology "Service Learning" has been implemented at the State University of Management since September 2023. Our university was among the first 20 Moscow universities where this program was launched in pilot mode. To date, 452 students and 28 social partners have been involved in the program, developing 67 socially significant projects and bringing good to over 10,000 beneficiaries.

The vice-rector responsible for the implementation of the program at the State University of Management, Pavel Pavlovsky, spoke about the principles of its work.

"GUU was one of the first universities to launch the Service Learning project. And we quickly realized that the State University of Management is a great platform for organizing inter-university projects. One of these is being implemented jointly with the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev – we inspect cars for large families and give them competent recommendations. Specifically, our students, for example, held sports events for hearing-impaired children. That is, we work both directly on the profile of the federal program and offer platform solutions – this helps us achieve high results. To encourage participation and involvement in the work of the program, competitions with prizes and gifts are held. Not only students, but also students of the Pre-University of GUU participate in the implementation of projects, which makes our experience unique."

The All-Russian competition of the best practices of volunteer and social activities was held in a pilot format, but has already proven that Russian universities have incredible energy, ideas and people who are ready to change the world around them. Now it will become an annual event!

In December, the winners will present their projects at the International Forum on Civic Participation

The list of winners and finalists is in the cards.

Organizers of the Competition: The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation together with Dobro.rf.

Polytechnic University supports families of SVO participants

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

This year the Polytechnic University became the leader among St. Petersburg universities in the number of first-year students enrolled in the SVO and their children. 252 applicants were admitted under a separate quota, 104 of them without entrance examinations. The university intends to continue supporting these students, providing them with existing social support measures.

Thus, out-of-town students have the right to priority accommodation in the Polytechnic dormitories. And in the future, according to the director of the Student City Vyacheslav Olshevsky, those of them who successfully master the educational program may have their living conditions improved – they may be provided with a place in a room with increased comfort.

The friendly atmosphere in the dormitories allows the students to feel like part of a large group. And if necessary, a full-time psychologist of the SPbPU Student City can always come to the rescue and provide qualified assistance, says Vyacheslav Olshevsky.

Support for children of SVO participants is systematically provided by the Department of Youth Policy and, in particular, by its structural subdivision – Psychological support center "Point of support". Qualified psychologists work with them individually and in groups. The main topics of requests are related to problems in relationships with loved ones, peers, anxiety about the future, difficulties in choice and special emotional experiences.

Thanks to individual counseling (on average, in five sessions), specialists usually manage to achieve general stabilization of the condition of the person seeking help, find resources and draw up an action plan for the near future. In group and online formats, work is carried out with already relatively stable categories: here, the topics of fears and anxieties, self-determination and other requests are worked out.

In special situations, psychologists may recommend contacting specialized doctors (neurologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist) for more systematic and serious support.

To restore mental comfort and strength after studying, students can take advantage of discounted vouchers to the Polytechnic recreation centers.

Two seasonal:

educational and health resort "Polytechnic" in the village of Novomikhaylovsky, Tuapse district, Krasnodar region (from May to September),educational and tourist base "Polytechnic" in the village of Gory in the Leningrad region (from May to October).

And two operate all year round:

educational and historical reserve "A.G. Gagarin's Estate "Kholomki"educational and sports base of SPbPU "Polytechnic" in the village of Toksovo.

Students and employees of SPbPU, under a collective agreement, can purchase vouchers at a reduced price, and preferential categories of citizens, which include SVO participants and their family members, will receive an additional 10% discount.

The University also provides financial support to students whose parents or guardians are serving in the military or died as a result of military operations in the SVO zone. In 2024, 56 people applied for assistance, the same number in 2025. The total amount of payments for two years was 2,895,000 rubles.

RUDN University medical students shared their impressions of the summer school in China

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

What does the pulse on the left hand show? How to do acupressure on the ears? This and much more was learned by RUDN medical students at the summer school "Heritage and Health: a Summer Exploration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Qilu Culture" at Shandong Second Medical University in the Chinese city of Weifang. Our university has been cooperating with this educational institution for several years now.

For almost two weeks, participants in the educational program attended lectures by local doctors and practical seminars, where they were told about modern methods of treating various diseases and about traditional Chinese medicine.

Needles, dots, pulse

In particular, students were taught the theoretical foundations of acupuncture and acupuncture. And they were given the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

"Each of us could voluntarily undergo an acupuncture session, having previously described our complaints: based on them, the specialist selected the necessary points of action on the body. We studied several key acupuncture points and the principles of working with them. It turned out that the needles are installed at different angles and rotated to achieve different therapeutic effects. We were also shown the technique of Gua Sha massage, which is performed with a small scraper to improve blood circulation and relieve muscle tension," – Sofia Soldatova, a student of the RUDN Medical Institute (major in General Medicine, 4th year).

In addition, the students were told about what problems in the human body can be understood by the pulse.

"According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the pulse on the right hand shows the condition of the spleen, lungs, and on the left – the kidneys, liver and heart. Chinese specialists determine that something in the body is not working properly by the rate, dynamism, depth and other parameters of the pulse," – Anna Davydova, a student of the RUDN Medical Institute (the direction of "General Medicine", 3rd year).

Theory and practice

RUDN students also learned about the differences in the Russian and Chinese medical education systems. And they saw how appointments are conducted in local clinics.

"To make an appointment, patients use special terminals where they insert ID cards for automatic registration. This significantly speeds up the process and minimizes queues. The reception structure itself is similar to Russian polyclinics. But as for education, in Russia, medical students have more clinical practice from their first years, while in China the emphasis is on theoretical training and they do not have such a large amount of practice in their junior years," says Sofia Soldatova, a student at the RUDN Medical Institute (major in General Medicine, 4th year).

According to students, in China it is mandatory to complete your studies to a PhD degree, which is not required in Russia.

Cultural program

Of course, the kids didn't spend all their days studying exclusively. During the summer school, they attended master classes on making dumplings, making kites, and Chinese calligraphy, attended a lesson on the martial art of tai chi, and explored local attractions.

“To understand the culture of China, we visited the magnificent Confucius Museum. The exhibition immerses you in the life and teachings of the great philosopher, whose ideas on harmony, education and ethics still shape the values of Chinese society and influence the entire world. But what I liked most was climbing Mount Taishan, one of the five sacred mountains of Tao and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is not just a mountain, it is a symbol of stability and spiritual rise of China. The views from the top and the ancient temples on the slopes left a feeling of touching eternity. China opened up to me from different sides: ancient and modern, spiritual and technological. Plus, I am glad that I managed to practice the Chinese language. Everyday conversations, discussions of new topics and immersion in the culture became a valuable experience,” Anna Davydova, a student of the RUDN Medical Institute (General Medicine major, 3rd year).

The summer school also helped RUDN students make new friends and feel the importance of international connections.

“Beyond the medical training, my trip to China gave me a strong sense of community. I met students from all over the world who shared my passion for medicine. Together, we explored beautiful cities, sampled authentic Chinese cuisine, and learned about traditions that broadened our understanding of cultural diversity in medicine. This experience not only strengthened my desire to pursue a career in medicine, but also deepened my understanding of the importance of global collaboration in healthcare. I left China with new knowledge, lifelong friends, and an even greater motivation to help others,” — Daria Zakharova, RUDN University Medical Institute student (General Medicine major, 2nd year).

Together for the City. Smolny and Polytechnic made Khlopina Street more comfortable

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

In the Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, repair work on Khlopina Street has been completed. The issue of the need to renew the road surface was raised atpersonal reception of citizens, which the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov held on November 29, 2024. Then the city leadership was addressed by the Associate Professor of the Higher School of Public Administration, Deputy Director of the Institute of Mechanics and Technology, Maxim Ivanov. On the instructions of the Governor, a large-scale set of measures was implemented to improve street infrastructure.

During the repair the following works were carried out:

More than 7,000 square meters of road surface and sidewalks were renewed; new thermoplastic markings were applied; speed bumps were installed to improve safety; curbstones were lowered to provide an accessible environment for people with limited mobility, elderly people, and parents with strollers.

The repairs were completed within the established timeframe and in compliance with the required quality standards.

The Governor of St. Petersburg noted that over 108 thousand people live within the boundaries of the Akademicheskoe municipal district, where Khlopina Street runs. The importance of the work carried out is also due to the fact that by the end of 2025, a major overhaul of Gzhatskaya Street, which intersects with Khlopina, will be completed. The new circuit will ensure movement around the microdistrict without exiting onto key highways – Grazhdansky Prospekt and Prospekt Nepokorennykh.

When we talk about the comfort and safety of the urban environment, it is important not only to develop initiatives in theory, but also to achieve their practical implementation. It is nice to see that our proposal was heard and implemented. This is an example of how science and government can work in the interests of society. Together – to a comfortable and safe St. Petersburg! Together we make the city better. Only forward! – said Maxim Ivanov.

The implementation of the project has become a vivid example of effective interaction between the government, the scientific community and citizens. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade and the Higher School of Public Administration continue to contribute to the development of the urban environment, and the student association "Public Administration Laboratory" demonstrates the practical significance of applied research in the field of state and municipal administration.
