During the first weeks of the forum "Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030", more than 500 thousand Muscovites and guests of the capital visited the sites of the Moscow Mayor's program "My District". And the 50th Anniversary of October Park became one of the most popular places where you can immerse yourself in all sorts of scenarios for the future of urban life.
Pavilions and podiums for master classes, educational, scientific, cultural and sports events aroused great interest among residents of all ages. The most visited place on the site in the 50th Anniversary of October Park was the "Space" pavilion. It showcased models of spacecraft, multifunctional robots and unique digital installations. More than 24 thousand people, half of whom were children and teenagers, visited here, inspired by the possibilities that until recently seemed like science fiction.
"I grew up on 20th century science fiction books, and what is presented in the pavilion today are literally pages of those books brought to life. Robots that talk to children, explain complex things in simple words, portholes with views of asteroids and galaxies, the opportunity to swim on a SUP board under virtual comets – this is not a film prop, but an operating site in a Moscow park. It is amazing that children take all this for granted: for them, this is already a natural part of life," shared his impressions Nikolai, an engineer and father of two children.
Over 15,000 people tried out the unique river-shaped pool for SUP boarding and kayaking, located inside the pavilion. Over three thousand participants signed up for a tour about satellite data and neurogames. And the master class on controlling robotic dogs and anthropomorphic robots became one of the most popular, gathering over 14,000 people.
Schoolgirl Olya told how she controlled a robot dog after an interactive master class. At first she thought it would be like a computer game, but the device responded to movements, and Olya felt like a real engineer. Now she wants to study to be a programmer.
The Biom Pavilion – Harmony of Nature and Technology
The Biom pavilion is especially popular, where Muscovites come not only to learn something new, but also to relax. More than 20 thousand people, half of whom are children, have discovered its exhibits. Inside there are aquariums with ancient fish, snakes and lizards, hydroponic farms, dioramas with cosmic landscapes and a calming fountain system.
"I came here out of curiosity, just to look, but ended up spending more than two hours in the pavilion. I lingered by the aquariums because everything here is thought out: you can see not only familiar plants and animals, but also simulated life forms that could exist on other planets. For a biologist, this is a find – inspiration for research and ideas," said Maria, a student at the biology department of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
More than 10 thousand people were able to ride a SUP board or kayak — the water route runs through the pavilion, which in itself became an innovation for the city festival. Despite the high attendance, the atmosphere in "Biome" remains peaceful, because here digital solutions harmoniously combine with greenery and water. As one of the guests, Muscovite Alexander, noted, after the fascinating master classes and high-tech of other pavilions, "Biome" seemed like a place where you can stop and feel the silence. Thanks to the fountains and aquariums, you feel an amazing balance of nature and technology here.
Pavilion "Robotics" – technologies of the 21st century
If Biom attracts with its silence, then the Robotics pavilion in the 50th Anniversary of October Park has become a center of dynamics and energy. There is real excitement here: more than 22 thousand visitors, including over nine thousand children, witnessed outstanding demonstrations and participated in interactive lectures "Tesla Corner" and "Tesla Show" (they were visited by almost 20 thousand people).
According to Evgeny, a physics teacher from the Moscow region, seeing a Faraday cage in action and showing it to his students is worth a lot. Usually, teachers talk about electricity and plasma using slides, but here they felt the power of science themselves. After this, many schoolchildren may decide to study engineering.
A huge number of interesting master classes were held at special sites in the park, for example, on creating cartoons, biology, chemistry and even paleontology. In total, more than 13 thousand master classes have been held at the sites of the My District program since its launch, with over 307 thousand people taking part.
Sports innovations – from trapeze to wind tunnel
The sports facilities were no less impressive: a grand aerial trapeze, two wind tunnels, wakeboarding and yoga classes in hammocks.
Over 800 master classes were held on the trapeze, which had no analogues in the capital's public spaces, and more than three thousand people attended special training sessions.
Student Maxim shared his feelings: "At first it was scary, but when you get up and try to do your first trick, you forget about everything. It's a feeling of freedom and a future where sport is not just physical activity, but a real art."
Another unique sports facility, the wind tunnel in the 50th Anniversary of October Park, attracted about five thousand participants, including two thousand children, and allowed forum guests to experience the sensation of real weightlessness.
"I would never have jumped with a parachute, but thanks to the wind tunnel I still experienced what it means to fly. And it is safe. It is a democratic way to feel freedom," said Marina from Moscow.
The popularity of yoga classes in hammocks also exceeded all expectations. The training sessions delighted visitors. In total, more than 3.5 thousand people attended 600 master classes.
