About 3.2 thousand events were held by non-profit organizations (NPOs) and Moscow companies as part of "Summer in Moscow". Free educational, cultural and sports programs were held at 50 district sites of the project from June 1 to September 14 this year. City residents received even more opportunities to spend their leisure time near their homes, and business representatives were able to tell a wider audience about themselves and increase their recognition.

Participation of NGOs

This year, more than 400 socially oriented and educational NGOs joined the project. They held over 2.5 thousand different events, including inclusive ones, in different districts of Moscow.

"Non-profit organizations not only independently organized events, but also successfully integrated their initiatives into large district and city festivals. In addition, most organizations are actively involved in collecting humanitarian aid for participants in the special military operation and residents of new regions of Russia. In just two months of summer, the non-profit sector collected and delivered over 10 thousand tons of necessary items," noted Sergey Polozov, head of the project office for work with non-profit organizations at the Agency for Public Projects.

Among the events held by the NPO were a taekwondo master class by Oleg Zakharov’s martial arts school, the cultural program “Harmony of Traditions” by the Russian Community charity foundation, the inclusive creativity festival “In the Spotlight” by the ANO “Sunny Angel” Creative House, and a chess tournament by the Baytik information technology center.

"This year, the all-Russian project "Father Frost Comes to the House!" presented the show "Father Frost and Summer" as part of "Summer in Moscow". This allowed us to attract new volunteers and identify five more families for inclusion in the New Year's charity support program," said Lyubov Ershova, head of the NGO.

Contribution to the present and the future: how NGO programs help children

Participation of the business community

This year, more than 180 representatives of the business community took part in Summer in Moscow. They organized about 700 educational, sports and entertainment events. These included, for example, lectures on financial literacy by Gazprombank, a fire show by the Goritsvet Fire Theatre, and master classes on Fundamentals of Digital Security by the International Cyber School of the Future.

Thus, entrepreneur Tatyana Kokoreva held a master class on styling jewelry that popularizes Russian culture. This helped increase the recognition of her products – in just one class, a base of 37 potential clients was formed, and sales increased by 20 percent.

Entrepreneurs are increasingly becoming partners of the Summer in Moscow project

"My area"— a comprehensive program of the Mayor of Moscow for the development of the urban environment. Its goal is to create comfortable living conditions in all areas of the capital. The Youth Point festival, which brought together about 800,000 residents and guests of the capital of all ages, ended on Bolotnaya Square. It was held as part of the project "Summer in Moscow" from May 25 to September 14.

"This summer, the Youth Point festival became a center of attraction for everyone who loves creativity, sports and active recreation. More than a thousand events were organized for residents and guests of the capital: plein airs, master classes in drawing and decorative techniques, quests, sports meetings, creative classes for children and adults and much more," said

Ekaterina Dragunova, Chairman of the capital's Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy.

From painting to roller skating

Each guest could choose an activity to their liking — from open-air painting and sketching to quilling, collage making and water painting. Participants learned to grow microgreens, paint T-shirts, weave bracelets and do much more. The festival featured free lectures by experts in the field of design and business. In addition, guests of the "Youth Point" met with representatives of the professional football club CSKA, competed in a family quest, took pictures with a large art object "Youth Cat" and took summer photos in a photo booth.

"I am very glad that such a space was opened on Bolotnaya Square. My daughter and I often come here, because this place is important for our family. It was here in 2009 that my husband and I got married. There were many different master classes at the festival: for example, we grew microgreens, danced on the rollerdrome and watched a roller skating show," shared Nadezhda Laikova, a participant of the "Youth Point" festival.

As part of the "Youth of Moscow. City of Heroes" program, open meetings and sports training with participants of the special military operation (SVO) and heroes of Russia were held at the festival site. Among them were volunteer of the "Bars" detachment Igor Nosov, combat veteran Nikolai Markushin, SVO participant Ivan Bakai and director of the military-patriotic education center "Vershina" Ivan Bondyukov.

From concerts to film screenings

Every week, the festival rollerdrome hosted discos with DJs, concerts by famous artists and young bands, open-air film screenings, and free roller skating for everyone. Mot, Tosya Chaikina, and the bands Pizza, Gradusy, Room of Culture, and Ay Yola performed on the big stage.

On the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation, visitors saw a performance by the Toloka ensemble with Russian folk songs collected during ethnographic expeditions. Everyone could join creative master classes and classes in various types of choreography at the ballroom dancing evening, and a roller skating show was arranged for guests at the roller disco.

The stage also brought together participants of the creative camp "Youth of Moscow" for the final gala concert. The program included musical numbers, choreographic productions and stage compositions created under the guidance of professional teachers and producers.

The live music evenings “Non-classical Classics”, the concert of the Nella Musica Orchestra symphony orchestra, and the film music festival “Soundtrack” were especially popular with the guests. All of them were held in the open air.

"I liked the master classes with a rich program, especially interested in the gamers' zone with table football and ping-pong. The most vivid impression was the concert of the Nella Musica Orchestra symphony orchestra: live classical music in the open air created a very special atmosphere. Thank you for the opportunity to spend such a rich summer," said Nikita Zelenin, a participant of the Molodezhnaya Tochka festival.

Open training sessions, board games and speed dating were held on the veranda of the main festival pavilion. A special program dedicated to yoga and mindfulness practice was also organized here. Guests trained in the open air and learned breathing techniques. The classes became part of a performance show accompanied by musical instruments.

Holidays on Bolotnaya Square

Bolotnaya Square became the main venue for the Youth Day festival on June 28 and 29. Guests could join morning exercises, bike training, master classes, lectures and meetings with popular bloggers. The festival also featured dance flash mobs, creative processions, performances by young artists and the Moscow Youth Cup in KVN.

In addition, the Youth Point festival hosted events dedicated to significant state and city holidays. On Children's Day, Russia Day, Russian National Flag Day and Moscow City Day, thematic programs were organized for residents and guests of the capital. The festival ended with a large student disco and a concert featuring Antokha MC, DJ Groove, DJ Calypso, and singer Hanna.

The Youth Point festival was organized by the Moscow Youth project Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy.

The Moscow Startup Summit, an international conference in the field of technological entrepreneurship, will be held in the capital on October 1 and 2. The event will bring together innovators, investors, as well as representatives of large companies, specialized departments and scientific institutes from Russia and other BRICS countries, as well as from the states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

"International funds and startups from 25 countries, including Belarus, China, India, Serbia, Brazil, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, have already confirmed their participation in the summit. Experts will discuss mechanisms for supporting talented developers, successful practices for implementing and scaling modern solutions and promising areas for further cooperation," said Natalia Sergunina.

The business program will include presentations, master classes, discussions and practical sessions. More than 150 leading market players will share their experience. In addition, there will be an exhibition with the participation of startups, including residents of the Moscow Innovation Cluster.

"The summit will become a platform that unites the capabilities of Moscow's innovative ecosystem with Sber's infrastructure and expertise in AI to develop technological entrepreneurship and the country's creative economy. The program will be structured in such a way that participants will receive specific results: startups will receive proposals for pilots and investments, corporations and investors will receive promising projects, and government officials will receive agreements on international cooperation. An important part will be the regional agenda and the development of innovations in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as a demo day of the international Sber500 accelerator and presentations by youth startup teams. We expect that more than four thousand representatives from Russia, the BRICS and SCO countries will take part in the summit," emphasized Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank.

The summit will be held on the territory of the smart city "SberCity", broadcasts of the events will be available onofficial website.

Startup Summit Awards Innovation Prize

The conference will host the first Startup Summit Awards for contribution to innovation development. The goal is to recognize effective practices, inspire large companies and investors to participate in supporting start-up entrepreneurs, and develop the economic potential of regions.

Heirs to Traditions: Polytechnicians Improve the Temple Grounds in Kholomki

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Teachers and students of the Higher School of Design and Architecture of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University's Civil Engineering Institute took part in a charity project to improve the territory of the educational and historical reserve "Prince A. G. Gagarin's Estate "Kholomki"" in the Pskov Region. The ICI team carried out landscaping work on the territory of the Ascension Church in the village of Belskoye Ustye, making their contribution to preserving the cultural heritage of the region.

The following took part in the project from the Civil Engineering Institute: Director of the Higher School of Design and Architecture Margarita Perkova, teachers and staff of the Higher School of Design and Architecture ISI – Olga Vul, Elena Ladik, Mekhti Mezentsev, Andrey Zaitsev, as well as undergraduate students Angelina Sladkevich, Valeria Shirkhanova and Fyodor Vasiliev.

During the trip, the students began the first stage of landscaping – they carefully prepared the flowerbeds at the main entrance to the church, planted the first flowers and plants, creating the basis for the future beautiful design of the territory. Decorative compositions of stones were installed, various varieties of hydrangeas, junipers, roses, hostas, decorative wormwood, thyme and even remontant strawberries with bright red flowers were planted. The project for the improvement of the church territory was developed by graduate students Vera Rogaleva and Valeria Solodovnikova under the supervision of Margarita Perkova as part of the summer practice.

The Kholomki estate, located 15 kilometers from the city of Porkhov in the Pskov region, was founded in the early 20th century by Prince Andrei Grigorievich Gagarin, an outstanding scientist and the first rector of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The main house of the estate was built according to the design of the famous architect Ivan Aleksandrovich Fomin in the neoclassical style. This mansion became a symbol of the "golden age" of Russian estates.

In 1914, during the First World War, a hospital for soldiers of the Siberian regiment was set up here. In 1918, the estate was transformed into the People's House named after V. I. Lenin, where theme nights and performances were held, gathering residents of the entire Porkhov district. Later, a House of Creativity was created in the estate, which became a place of attraction for Petrograd writers and artists. In the period from 1921 to 1922, famous writers and artists lived and worked here: M. V. Dobuzhinsky, M. M. Zoshchenko, E. I. Zamyatin, S. F. Khodasevich, K. I. Chukovsky, O. E. Mandelstam. After that, a sanatorium for pulmonary patients was opened in the estate. During the Great Patriotic War, the estate in Kholomki was located on captured territory and housed the headquarters of German pilots. By the middle of the 20th century, the estate had fallen into disrepair.

In 2000, the estate was transferred to the Polytechnic University for permanent ownership and received the status of a structural subdivision. Today, it is a unique educational and historical reserve that maintains a connection between the past and the present. Not far from the estate is the Church of the Ascension of the Lord, built in 1796 by Colonel Artemon Kozhin on his estate. Decades later, in the early 1860s, his son Pyotr Kozhin decided to build a new church in the style of early classicism with baroque elements according to the design of the St. Petersburg architect Shestakov.

Over its long history, the church has witnessed many significant events. In 1920, Prince A. G. Gagarin was buried here. Unfortunately, in the 1960s, the church was closed due to its emergency condition. Only in 2014 did large-scale restoration work begin.

On September 13, the creativity festival "Otkrytie" was held in the student campus on Lesnaya. The event, organized by the administration of the Student Club of the Directorate of Cultural Programs and Youth Creativity, became a pass to the future for the most active first-year students.

The festival featured a full range of cultural and leisure activities: two theaters, two choirs, two vocal studios, a pop-symphony orchestra, a dance studio, KVN and other groups. The studios and associations of the Student Club surprised everyone with so many things! Guests learned to draw music, got acquainted with rare photographic equipment, participated in a show, launched a drum from the musical show "Don't Sleep!" and received predictions for the academic year. The Polytechnic Student Theater held express trainings, and the People's University Theater "Glagol" invited behind the scenes. At all stations, students earned game currency, which could be exchanged for memorable gifts in the Student Club souvenir shop or saved for the big auction.

At the Otkrytie festival, we, together with the Ingenium orchestra, played games with guests and looked for talented polytechnic students — future members of our orchestra. The student club is a place to meet new friends and realize your talents, — shared 2nd-year student of the Institute of Biological Sciences and Biology Savva Ivanov.

The creative space of the festival was an interactive map of the annual events of the Student Club: for a couple of minutes, the Polytechnicians found themselves in the atmosphere of "ArtCamp" – a traditional trip for first-year students, the intellectual and entertaining game "FastBrain", Maslenitsa and the legendary project "Dances. Polytechnic". The Ecological Community "Regrin" and the United Student Council of Dormitories also joined the festival.

The atmosphere of the festival made a huge impression! A big gala concert prepared by the studios, many interactive activities and absolutely different decorations. It was especially nice to see how many kids are interested in creativity and immediately sign up for the groups they liked! – shared first-year student of the IPMET Maria Akimenko.

The center of attraction was the stage, where for two hours the participants of the Youth Choir "Polyhymnia", vocal studio "Polivoks", Chamber Choir, dance studio PolyDance, as well as finalists and participants of the project "Star of Polytech", artists of the musical show "Don't Sleep!" and beatbox master Ekaterina Pautova performed. The finale of the evening was the viewing of a cartoon in the open air.
