The Moscow Open Puppet Theater invites children and teenagers to a reading of "The Coin Flies Up." It's a play about death. Playwright Kristina Berdnikova and her colleague have collected stories about how people grappled with this complex and serious topic. Directed by Valery Badzhi.

The reading will be part of the "Mnogo tekst" (A Lot of Text) project, dedicated to themes of childhood dreams, growing up, the complexities of communication, and the fragility of relationships between parents and the younger generation. Under the guidance of renowned directors, the theater's actors will read plays by young contemporary authors from Moscow and St. Petersburg—philosophical stories about life, love, and friendship.

First in management and first in standardization: GUU and the Rosstandart Academy discussed cooperation

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

On September 17, a meeting was held at the State University of Management between Rector Vladimir Stroev and Rector of the Rosstandart Academy Alexander Zazhigalkin.

The leaders discussed the strengths of their educational institutions and possible areas for future cooperation.

Vladimir Stroyev spoke about the history of the State University of Management, noting its commitment to educational traditions combined with a modern approach.

"The topic of standardization is close to the heart of SUM, as for many years during the Soviet era, our university was involved in everything related to the planned economy. At one time, it was here that the associations for developing standards for educational programs such as management, human resources, and state and municipal administration were based. Many departments still exist and maintain their traditions. We are actively reviving engineering education and research at our university. Our student design bureau won a grant from the Ministry of Education and Science among all the universities in the country. This is not so much about money as it is about status and recognition."

In turn, Alexander Zazhigalkin presented the Academy's areas of activity, its achievements, and development plans.

"Our academy is a leader in quality management. Every year, over 12,000 people study in 200 programs at branches and core departments across the country. These are primarily engineers and technical specialists, but we also include economists and company executives. In terms of continuing education, we are regional leaders in our field. Standardization and quality management are important in many areas of activity and are becoming increasingly relevant today," shared the rector of the Rosstandart Academy.

Vice-Rector Maria Karelina introduced the guest to the research projects currently underway at SUM and those planned for the near future. Alexander Zazhigalkin expressed interest and suggested exploring this topic further in their future work.

Another important area noted by the parties was network educational programs. Vladimir Stroyev emphasized that "the State University of Management has chosen a strategy of interaction and expanding cooperation," and cited examples of the joint Advanced Engineering School with the M.D. Millionshchikov State Petroleum Technical University and a network program with the Kuban Agricultural University.

Following the meeting, the leaders identified key areas of potential collaboration, agreed to create working groups, and draft a cooperation agreement and a roadmap for implementing joint projects.

Moscow theaters and concert halls have successfully adapted to the changes in ticketing and event admission rules. This is evidenced by growing attendance and revenue. It has been decided that the admission system will be maintained permanently.

"Moscow theaters and concert halls demonstrated successful adaptation to changes in ticket purchasing rules last season. This is evidenced by the growth in attendance figures for the first eight months of 2025—compared to the same period last year, our theater attendance has grown by seven percent, reaching three million people," said the Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Culture.

Alexey Fursin.

The rules came into effect on March 15 of this year. The changes were necessary to make the ticket purchasing process more transparent and controllable and to enhance security during performances and concerts.

The city has done everything possible to ensure the new system for visiting cultural institutions is as convenient as possible for citizens. This includes significantly expanding the list of documents required to verify a visitor's identity. At the same time, according to Department of CultureWhen purchasing a ticket, a passport is most often used.

Cultural institution directors, in turn, note that tickets have become more readily available for purchase by spectators, while those who made money illegally have found it significantly more difficult.

"We analyzed the results of the pilot project and feedback from institutions and believe that the current rules should remain in place permanently," concluded Alexey Fursin.

You can learn more about the new rules for visiting theaters and concert halls in a question-and-answer format atmos.ru portal.

A pilot project establishing new rules for visiting theaters and concert venues under the jurisdiction of the Department of Culture began in Moscow on December 1, 2024. When purchasing a ticket, visitors are required to provide extended visitor information, and upon entering the venue, they are required to present one of the following documents.

Sergei Sobyanin opened a renovated sports complex with a swimming pool in Novogireevo.

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Sergei Sobyanin opened the renovated sports complex (SC) "Olimpia" on Fryazevskaya Street (building 13a) in the Novogireevo district.

In addition, in September, three more sports complexes located in the Yasenevo, Tsaritsyno, and Savelki districts welcomed their first visitors after reconstruction: the Moscow City Physical Culture and Sports Association (19 Yasnogorskaya Street), the Yug Olympic Reserve School (16 Kavkazsky Boulevard, Building 3), and the Zelenograd Moscow Comprehensive Sports School (2 Ozernaya Alley).

"We're building a lot, a lot of sports facilities, but we can't forget about the old ones either, because many were built 20-40 years ago and are already obsolete. Therefore, they need to be rejuvenated: install new equipment, implement new utility systems, and update their design. Therefore, under a special program, we'll renovate all the old facilities in Moscow, and the same will be done in your district. We're doing a lot here: we're implementing a renovation program, we've updated the clinics. Now we've taken on schools, parks, and squares, making life in your district comfortable and convenient," Sergei Sobyanin shared with the district residents.

The Olimpia sports complex on Fryazevskaya Street (building 13a) is owned by the Mossportobekt State Budgetary Institution, one of the city's largest physical education and sports institutions, which manages more than 100 sports facilities.

The 2,200-square-meter, standard sports complex is equipped with a 25-meter swimming pool and a gymnasium with modern, injury-safe surfaces and new equipment.

During the sports complex's renovation, the building's utility systems, roof, glazing, and façade panels were replaced, the pool basin was repaired, and the interior was given a modern finish. In addition, comfortable locker rooms with showers and toilets, coaches' rooms, a medical office, a cloakroom, and a waiting area were installed.

The adjacent area has been landscaped. The complex is also accessible to people with disabilities.

Following the completion of the renovations, wrestling and swimming classes have resumed at the Olimpia Sports Complex for students from city sports schools and the general public. Groups in general physical training, yoga, Pilates, and gymnastics will be created for participants in the "Moscow Longevity" project.

The renovated sports complex welcomed its first visitors in September. It is expected to welcome approximately 800 people daily.

Program for the construction of new and renovation of standard sports facilities

Since 2011, 338 sports facilities (capital and non-capital) have been built in Moscow, including more than 150 new sports complexes.

“In total, the reconstruction program included over 150 such facilities, and the plan is to complete work on 16 by the end of 2025,” Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his channel in

MAX messenger.

There are plans to build another 101 sports facilities by 2027, including about 50 physical education and health centers (PEHCs).

In addition, a renovation program for existing sports facilities is underway, covering over 150 standard sports complexes built in previous years. These are obsolete and in need of technical upgrades.

The renovation work includes replacing the facade cladding and glazing, interior finishing, updating furniture and sports equipment, replacing utility systems, security systems, and electrical wiring, as well as landscaping the surrounding area and installing navigation elements.

"We continue to implement our plans for the development of sports infrastructure. We are building a lot

new objects, but we don't forget about the old ones either. They've already been put in order. 18 objects, four of them opened today,” Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his channel in MAX messenger.

There are plans to complete work on 16 more sites by the end of the year.

Improvement of the Green Park in Novogireevo

Green Park, located at the intersection of Zeleny Prospekt and Fryazevskaya Street, is a popular recreation spot for Muscovites. New residential complexes are currently being built nearby as part of the city's renovation program.

Following numerous requests from city residents, improvements to Green Park were carried out between March and August of this year under the direction of Sergei Sobyanin. The project was approved by over 88 percent of Muscovites who participated in the Active Citizen project.

The total area of improvements is 17.93 hectares. The central part of the park now houses a recreation area with round benches and large swings, and a site with long benches for various events has been created.

For active recreation enthusiasts, the football field has been renovated, workout areas with strength and aerobic equipment have been equipped, and table tennis tables have been installed.

New playgrounds with an archaeological sandbox, play structures, artificial hills, and swings will be of interest to children of all ages.

A large parking lot has been constructed on the Fryazevskaya Street side. The park now boasts approximately 380 energy-saving streetlights, 790 hardscape features, and nine CCTV cameras. 91,600 square meters of new and restored lawns have added comfort and coziness. Nearly 200 large trees are planned to be planted by the end of autumn.

In addition, improvement works covered nine courtyards adjacent to the park along Zeleny Prospekt (building 64, building 68, buildings 1, 2, building 70, building 1), Fryazevskaya Street (building 9, buildings 2, 3, building 11, buildings 1, 2, 4, 5, building 13, building 15, buildings 5, 6) and Soyuzny Prospekt (building 24).

Creating a high-quality urban environment

This year, improvement work is underway in Moscow on more than 3,200 sites, including more than 80 significant ones, approximately 700 streets in the form of comprehensive improvement projects, and nearly 2,400 courtyards.

In particular, the improvement of three outbound highways is being completed: Volgogradsky Prospekt with Marxistskaya Street, Shchelkovskoye Highway with Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya and Krasnoprudnaya Streets, and Profsoyuznaya Street with 60th Anniversary of October Avenue.

Improvement work continues at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve, Gorky Park, and Sokolniki. Work also began this year on the grounds of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex.

Gazprom VNIIGAZ opened a specialized department of "Hydrocarbon Pipeline Transportation," established in collaboration with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The new department will become a key training platform for specialists in the fuel and energy sector.

On the opening day, the first master's students began their studies on the new educational track. The students met their mentors and practicing instructors—leading specialists from Gazprom VNIIGAZ—who will support their professional development.

The program's key feature is the active participation of Gazprom VNIIGAZ employees in the educational process. The professional training module is fully supported by the institute's experts: they conduct practical classes, supervise internships, and supervise final qualification projects. This approach allows students to gain relevant knowledge, gain valuable experience, and gain firsthand knowledge of real-world industry challenges.

Collaboration with SPbPU includes not only the training of master's students but also the development of research: graduate and doctoral students from among the institute's staff will be involved in research work, which will strengthen scientific ties and ensure the further development of the partnership.

The establishment of the specialized department opens up new opportunities for developing professional competencies and implementing innovative solutions in the field of hydrocarbon pipeline transportation. This step will be an important contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists and the development of the industry's human resources.
