Specialists Moscow City Services Complex Construction of a new high-pressure gas pipeline has begun in the Filevsky Park area in the western part of the capital. The project aims to expand the city's existing gas system.

"To minimize the impact on the urban environment, the closed passages were divided into 17 separate sections. Tunneling is carried out using a special machine (shield). Its forward movement is provided by a powerful jacking station installed in the launch shaft. This technology makes it possible to lay the network at intervals of up to 300 meters, which speeds up construction and reduces environmental risks," noted Alexander Chistov, Deputy General Director for Capital Construction at Mosgaz JSC.

Work began in late 2025 on the section between Minskaya and Bolshaya Filevskaya Streets. The project calls for laying approximately four kilometers of pipeline.

During the work, specialists use a combination of open and closed installation methods. The trenchless method utilizes microtunneling technology. This method allows for the installation of gas pipelines at significant depths without extensive excavation, which is especially important in densely populated areas with numerous underground utilities and heavy traffic.

The new gas pipeline will be equipped with two modern, domestically manufactured shutoff valves. They are controlled remotely from Mosgaz JSC's central control room, significantly improving the speed of response to emergency situations. They can shut off the gas supply within one and a half minutes.

In addition, specialists ensure the quality of welded joints using visual and radiographic methods. This ensures high quality and safety standards are maintained.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin announced that the capital is undertaking a comprehensive program to upgrade utility networks. This will reduce their wear and tear, create reserves for connecting new consumers, and guarantee a stable supply of all necessary resources. In 2025 alone, more than 144 kilometers of gas networks have been built and 37 kilometers reconstructed. This year, over 145 kilometers are planned for construction and 19.2 kilometers for reconstruction. gas networks.

The Moscow City Services Complex noted that the projects being implemented in the capital to modernize and improve the reliability of public utility infrastructure are in line with the goals and objectives of the national project. Moscow will continue to support taxi services.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The safety and convenience of taxi, car-sharing, and bicycle and scooter rental services in the capital are improving. The issue of public transportation was discussed at a meeting of the Moscow Government Presidium.

Taxi and car sharing

The Moscow region's taxi fleet comprises over 205,000 vehicles, of which approximately 87,000 operate in Moscow and over 118,000 in the Moscow region. The average pickup time is a record-breaking four minutes. The average age of the vehicles is 3.1 years.

In 2021, the city became the first in the country to launch a comprehensive information system, "Taxi Analytics," which allows for the removal of unscrupulous drivers with insufficient experience, traffic violators, and those who skip medical and technical inspections from bookings. Since the system's implementation, the accident rate involving taxis has decreased by 15.3 percent, and by 7.2 percent by the end of 2025.

In 2024, Moscow became the first region of the Russian Federation to introduce mandatory certification for taxi drivers, based on federal law. Certification allows drivers to confirm their professional knowledge and skills, and passengers can be confident that they are being driven by a professional who knows the city and is skilled in handling emergency situations. All active passenger taxi drivers have passed the certification. In 2025, the number of taxi rides per workday reached 1.75 million.

Moscow remains the world's largest car-sharing city, with approximately 40,000 cars in its fleet. The average age of these cars is two years. In 2025, carsharing vehicles were rented on average over 148,000 times per day. There were five to six orders per car. Cars were most often rented for trips near Khodynka Field, Belorussky Station, and Tsvetnoy Boulevard.

In 2026, the capital will continue to support services and provide subsidies for updating taxi and car-sharing fleets. The city budget has allocated 450 million rubles for these purposes.

Bicycles and personal mobility devices

The city's bike and scooter rental fleet comprises 80,000 units—20,000 bicycles and 60,000 scooters. Over the past year, the number of daily scooter rides has increased by 10 percent, reaching 330,000 trips per day. The total length of bike paths has exceeded 600 kilometers.

Bicycles and scooters have become not only a form of entertainment but also a popular means of transportation—85 percent of people rent them to get to work, school, parks, or shopping malls. In 2025, the city's Velobike bike-sharing system had approximately 370,000 users, and scooters were rented by five million residents and tourists.

In 2025, user verification was introduced through a single Mos ID account. To improve road safety, shared bicycles and scooters were equipped with large license plates. All violations can be automatically detected using city photo and video cameras. During last year's warm season, more than 70 new slow zones with speed limits of five to 20 kilometers per hour were introduced, bringing the total number to 420. As a result, the number of road accidents involving personal mobility devices (PMDs) decreased by 57 percent, and incidents involving children by 72 percent.

In 2025, the fleet was expanded with three thousand upgraded 2.0 e-bikes—they can be parked at any SIM city parking lot and used for rides without needing a rental station. The average rental time was 21 minutes.

Last year also saw the pilot launch of new types of mobility transport, including an electric scooter and a mechanical dockless bicycle for adults and children.

Using SIM cards, Moscow couriers deliver approximately 700,000 orders daily. Experts estimate that by 2030, Moscow couriers will be able to fulfill up to 1.5 million orders per day.

Moscow is the undisputed leader in the growth of online delivery in Russia. To streamline the industry, in 2024 the city became the first in the country to approve a standard for courier services. This standard includes requirements for document checks, appearance, and the condition of vehicles and bags. Couriers also undergo training in ethics and safe driving. Today, e-bikes and scooters used by couriers are equipped with remote control modules: they limit speed, including in slow-speed zones, and transmit trip data to the Moscow public transportation system.

The measures taken not only improve safety but also the quality of service. Over 80 percent of Muscovites surveyed highly rate the courier services, finding them very convenient and indispensable.

Sobyanin: A fourth river electric transport route will open in 2026

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

In 2026, the capital will open a fourth regular river electric transport route. Additionally, the third route, Novospassky-ZIL, will be extended. Sergei Sobyanin wrote about this on his channel. MAX messenger.

"The revival of regular passenger service on the Moscow River is a unique project. We were the first in the world to launch

year-round water transport “It’s completely electric,” the Moscow Mayor wrote.

Source: Sergei Sobyanin's channel inMAX messenger

The first regular route, opened in June 2023 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, connected Kyiv Railway Station with the Heart of the Capital pier near the residential complex of the same name on Shelepikhinskaya Embankment. In June 2024, it was nearly doubled in length, extending to 12 kilometers, with two additional piers: Beregovoy (on the right bank of the Moskva River, practically opposite the Heart of the Capital pier) and Fili Park (the route's new terminus). In September 2024, another pier opened on the first route: Krasnopresnensky Park (near the park of the same name and the Expocentre Central Exhibition Complex).

The second regular ZIL-Pechatniki electric vessel route, a nine-kilometer route, opened in September 2023. A year later, in September 2024, three new berths were commissioned: Nagatinsky, Zaton Novinki, and Kolomenskaya Embankment.

In June 2025, the third regular river electric transport route, Novospassky-ZIL, opened. Since then, passengers have made approximately 150,000 trips.

Thus, today there are three regular river transport routes operating on the Moscow River: Kyiv – Fili Park (nine berths), ZIL – Pechatniki (nine berths), and Novospassky – ZIL (six berths), with a total length of at least 30 kilometers.

Thirty-one vessels were purchased to operate on three routes. All were named after small Moscow rivers and have an ice class of "ice 20," meaning they can navigate through broken ice up to 20 centimeters thick. These modern electric vessels are crewed by 134 experienced captains with an average of over seven years of service on the water.

"Thanks to this new mode of transport, over 1.8 million people living in 22 Moscow districts have gained alternative transportation options. They have made over three million trips on electric boats," added Sergei Sobyanin.

Over 70,000 Trips: How Moscow's River Electric Transport Developed in 2025Audio tours are now available on the regular Novospassky-ZIL river route.

The most popular departure points are the Kyiv, Fili Park, Pechatniki, City-Central, ZIL, and Yuzhny River Terminal piers. There are 24 piers in total.

Plans for 2026 include the opening of a fourth electric river transport route, Luzhniki-Kievskiy, and the extension of the third route, Novospassky-ZIL, by more than 1.5 kilometers to the Krasnye Kholmy pier on Kosmodamianskaya Embankment. Eight new electric vessels are planned for these routes.

Reconstruction of School No. 1619 named after M.I. Tsvetaeva continues in the Strogino district. The Mayor of Moscow inspected the construction progress and congratulated the school's teachers and all female educators in Moscow on the upcoming International Women's Day (March 8).

"Schools like these weren't built 45 years ago. A new school, a new gym, practically new classrooms, laboratories, public spaces, and landscaping. The school will be like new. Maybe even better than the schools built recently. So it won't be long now," Sergei Sobyanin noted.

In addition to School No. 1619 named after M.I. Tsvetaeva on Tallinskaya Street, three more schools are being reconstructed in Strogino on Kulakov Street: School No. 705 (Building 25, Block 2), School No. 86 named after M.E. Katukov (Building 17, Block 2), and School No. 69 named after B.Sh. Okudzhava (Building 3, Block 1). A significant portion of the educational infrastructure in the Strogino district will be updated by the new academic year.

School No. 1619 named after M.I. Tsvetaeva for 750 students on Tallinskaya Street (Building 12, Block 4) was built in 1981. The total area of the building is approximately nine thousand square meters (three floors and a basement).

A full renovation of the school building began in May 2025. During the renovation, the façade and roof will be updated, all utility lines, door and window frames will be replaced, partitions will be installed, floor screeding will be done, and interior finishing will be completed. The premises will be equipped with modern equipment and furniture. The surrounding area will be landscaped.

The focus is on creating a modern educational environment for children and teachers. In accordance with the "My School" program, the renovated building will feature universal and specialized classrooms, study spaces with sliding, transformable partitions for large and small group classes, a modern media library with spaces for group and individual work, a laboratory and research complex for natural sciences, a multifunctional, multi-level space for events, lectures, and exhibitions, a sports hall, a gymnasium, and a cozy dining hall.

The interior color scheme will be muted, with accents in the form of acoustic panels, bright furniture, and design elements.

The school grounds will include gymnastics and volleyball courts, a running track, a football field, a long jump court, playgrounds for different age groups, and bicycle and scooter parking spaces.

"We will open the renovated building of School No. 1619 on Tallinskaya Street on September 1st," the Mayor of Moscow wrote on his MAX messenger channel. "After the renovation, the 750 students at School No. 1619 will receive education in modern and comfortable conditions, which will undoubtedly improve the quality of education."

Source: Sergei Sobyanin's channel inMAX messenger

As before the reconstruction, students from first to 11th grade will study here.

Students will continue their in-depth study of individual subjects: mathematics, social studies, biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as training within the city-based projects "Mathematical Vertical," "Entrepreneurship Class in a Moscow School," "Medical Class in a Moscow School," and "Cadet Class in a Moscow School."

More opportunities will also be available for students to pursue additional education in various fields. They will be able to attend sports clubs in football, basketball, volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, and table tennis, as well as vocal and English classes.

"And in general, it's not just your school; hundreds of schools in Moscow require renovation, so this year we'll have about a hundred schools undergoing renovation. In Strogino, there are three more schools, besides yours. But we have ambitious plans to build a new school for your educational complex. You still have space for a school. It's in pretty good condition, but it's already outdated. We'll build a beautiful new school. Those are the plans for now. I hope they come true," Sergei Sobyanin added at a meeting with teachers.

In 2023–2025, 55 school buildings were completely reconstructed under the My School program.

In 2025, work began on renovating several dozen school buildings, with completion scheduled for 2026.

School No. 1619 named after M.I. Tsvetaeva

Ten students won and runners-up of the regional stage, while 15 students took top places and became winners of the Moscow School Olympiad.

The school's creative teams participate in various city festivals, including "Relay of the Arts," "Theatrical Olympus," "To You, Capital, Our Young Talents," "New Heights," "The Wonderful City of Moscow," "Me Plus My Friends," "We Are Together," and "Time of Miracles."

The school choir "Sea Soul" is a winner and laureate of all-Russian and city competitions.

Students at the school are taking part in the GTO (Ready for Labor and Defense) standards: in the 2024/2025 academic year, 61 students received gold, silver, and bronze badges.

Particular attention is paid to patriotic education. The school created the "Sevastopolets" youth army detachment, which became the best detachment in the local branch of the Northwestern Administrative District of Moscow, and its members received 19 vouchers to the "Patriot" camp.

The school also has an active volunteer program, including the "Do Good" volunteer group, assistance to homeless animals, environmental campaigns, and participation in the "Volunteer Counselor" project.
