In March 2022, a measure to support entrepreneurs was introduced in Moscow, within the framework of which investors can lease land plots at a preferential rate of only one ruble per year. Such a benefit is provided within the framework of the implementation of large-scale investment projects (MaIP). During this time, the city has concluded 17 lease agreements for plots of land for the construction of construction industry enterprises. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.

"Since 2022, the city has provided investors with land plots with a total area of about 92 hectares at a preferential rate of one ruble per year for the construction of enterprises that will specialize in the production of construction and finishing materials. The total area of the facilities will be approximately 700 thousand square meters. The volume of private investment will be about 32 billion rubles. The implementation of these MAIPs will contribute to the development of the urban development industry and provide it with modern domestic products," said Vladimir Efimov.

Large-scale investment projects have been implemented in the capital since 2016. They have become one of the key instruments for the development of the city's economy.

"On the instructions of Sergei Sobyanin, modern industrial complexes are being built in the capital, which ensure economic growth and create new jobs for residents. More than 5.5 thousand new jobs will be created at construction industry enterprises built as part of large-scale investment projects. The complexes will produce architectural concrete, ceramic products, aerated concrete blocks, prefabricated reinforced concrete structures and other products, which will significantly increase the volume of production of building materials and strengthen the industrial base of the city," said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.

Land plots were allocated in the northwest and southeast of the capital, as well as in Zelenograd and TiNAO. The preferential rental rate applies to the entire term of the contracts. Thus, the enterprises will quickly establish the production of products important for Moscow.

Ekaterina Solovieva, the Minister of the Moscow Government, the head of the Department of City Property, emphasized that in the Krasnopakhorsky District, as part of the implementation of large-scale investment projects, it is planned to create a cluster for the production of building materials. The city has already allocated more than 30 hectares of land for the implementation of two MAIPs. A plot of land with an area of over four hectares has been provided for the construction of an enterprise for the production of reinforced concrete structures for stairwells, openings, balconies, facades and load-bearing walls of buildings. On the territory of 26.54 hectares, it is planned to establish the production of building structures, modular structures, metal products and wooden flooring.

In the south-east of the capital, in the Vykhino-Zhulebino district, a plot of land of almost 0.32 hectares was provided to an investor for the construction of a production complex for the manufacture of doors, windows and other products made of wood and plastic. In the same district, the investor will build a production facility for tile modules made of wood. For this purpose, the city allocated 0.7 hectares of land to the investor at a preferential rental rate.

Land plots of 17 hectares have been provided to the investor in the Eastern communal zone of Zelenograd. The company will build a modern industrial complex with a total area of 80 thousand square meters. Several modern production facilities will appear there at once – enterprises for the production of doors, aerated concrete blocks and ready-made modules.

The city also provided 1.45 hectares of land in the Voronovo district for the construction of an enterprise for the development, testing and pilot production of building materials. Its area will be about 12 thousand square meters.

Young Muscovites to Choose a Name for a Baby Alpaca from the City Farm at VDNKh

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

On the platform "Active Citizen for Children" opened survey, in which young residents of the capital will choose a name for an alpaca born at the VDNKh “City Farm” on August 3.

The baby was born in the morning. Her mother's name is Dosya, and her father's name is Berberis. The newborn slept almost all the time during the first day, but her mother woke her up to feed her. Now they have adapted to the new conditions and feel great. The cub is actively gaining weight, which is already more than 10 kilograms. The girl's character is different from her sisters Shokoladka and Chernichka. She is more like her father Berberis – just as thoughtful and dreamy.

The baby walks with her mother almost every day. More often in the morning, before opening, or in the first hour after the farm starts working, so that no one disturbs the little alpaca. It happens that she can show up during the day. However, you can see the baby at any time: she is in the enclosure – in the barn, which is located in the public domain.

The baby's color is black, but it may change a little as the alpaca grows up. For about six months, it will feed on milk, and later it will switch to an adult animal's diet (hay, vegetables, grass, special muesli).

Alpacas usually live in the Andes at an altitude of three and a half to five thousand meters, inhabiting the territories of Ecuador, the southern regions of Peru, northern Chile and western Bolivia. The history of alpaca domestication began about six thousand years ago, when ancient Peruvians first tamed these animals and began breeding them. Guests of VDNKh have the opportunity to see, photograph, pet and feed alpacas in Moscow.

Young Muscovites are offered a choice of six names for alpaca: Lada, Bardo, Nochka, Sumac, Inti and Korichka. Residents of the capital aged six to 14 can take part in the survey. To do this, you need a standard account on the mos.ru portal or authorization on platform "Moscow Electronic School".

For participating in the survey, children will be awarded children's points for the city's loyalty program "A Million Prizes", using which you can get gifts: a school backpack, board games, ice cream molds, certificates to stores and cafes and much more.

The City Farm family park of interactive farming and crafts opened at VDNKh in 2015 and celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Each guest has the opportunity to stroll through the interactive zoo and attend master classes in equipped rooms and a picturesque greenhouse — classes are included in the price of the entrance ticket. The City Farm seasonal programs delight with their diversity: quests and teambuilding in the summer, New Year's performances in the winter. You can admire the new resident, as well as other inhabitants of the City Farm — rabbits, a donkey, raccoons, reindeer, zebu and goats — on weekdays from 10:30 to 20:00, and on weekends and holidays — from 10:30 to 21:00.

"Active Citizen for Children"— is an online platform created specifically for young Muscovites. On it, kids can make important decisions for the city by participating in surveys. They will also find quizzes, games, comics and videos that introduce Moscow, tell about its history, development and projects for children, as well as how residents help the capital become better.

A thermal complex is planned to be built at VDNKh. Its construction is one of the promising areas of development of the country's main exhibition. The year-round family spa complex, designed for visitors of different ages, will become a popular place among supporters of a healthy lifestyle.

It is planned to create a modern recreation and health zone in the metropolis in the coming years. The thermal complex will be located in the southern part of VDNKh, not far from the Khovansky entrance, next to a multi-level parking lot and a picturesque forest park area. Investors will be attracted to implement the idea of creating a thermal complex; businesses still have the opportunity to take part in this unique and promising project. It involves creating an oasis of tranquility within the city, where guests can relax and unwind in thermal pools and baths, recuperate thanks to massage treatments and a variety of spa services. To create the conditions of a thermal resort, it is planned to use natural resources from different parts of Russia – mineral waters, mud, salts, medicinal plants and essential oils.

The complex will be oriented towards all categories of visitors: safe play areas, mini water playgrounds will be arranged for children, and places for health procedures, fitness classes and recreation will be arranged for adults. This format will allow each family member to find something interesting and useful during a visit, as well as spend time together in a comfortable and safe environment.

The territory of VDNKh contains numerous architectural monuments, natural areas, museums, cafes and restaurants, and cultural and educational events are constantly held. The new thermal complex will become another place where you can spend your leisure time. It will complement the existing diverse infrastructure, making VDNKh an even more attractive venue for family recreation and an active lifestyle.

The creation of a comfortable environment at VDNKh, a garden city within a metropolis, is the most important part of the strategy for promoting the capital's hospitality industry and the VDNKh development strategy until 2030.

A Masterpiece of Constructivism: How the Palace of Culture of the Hammer and Sickle Plant is Being Brought Back to Life

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

In Moscow, the restoration of the Palace of Culture of the Hammer and Sickle plant continues. The architectural monument of constructivism, a cultural heritage site of regional significance, is located on Volochaevskaya Street (house 48, buildings 1 and 2). It was built in the early 20th century according to the design of the architect Ignatius Milinis. Currently, the Palace of Culture consists of two buildings connected by a passage.

"The House of Culture of the Serp i Molot plant is a significant monument in the constructivist style by the famous architect Ignatius Milinis. Before the restoration, it was in a state of disrepair, so first of all, emergency response work was carried out, namely, the supporting structures of the building were strengthened, the dilapidated roof was replaced. In addition, the central staircase has already been repaired. Now specialists are restoring the courtyard facades, by now some of the windows have been installed," said the head of the capital's Department of Cultural Heritage.

Alexey Emelyanov.

Building 1 has largely retained its 1950s appearance. Now the facades and the passage from Volochaevskaya Street, which lead to the main staircase, are plastered, and specialists have partially installed windows.

Building 2 and the passage connecting the buildings have been repeatedly rebuilt during reconstructions and repairs since the 1970s, which is reflected in the facades. The character of the glazing and individual windows on the second and third floors have been preserved since the 1950s. The facade facing Andronyevsky Proezd has already been plastered and windows have been installed.

The project to restore the historical appearance of the monument was developed based on archival drawings and photographs. The restoration of the facades of the surviving buildings will be carried out based on the period of the 1950s. At the same time, the restoration of part of the flat roofs, the color schemes of the facades and the interiors will return to the appearance of the 1930s. In addition, the work includes the reconstruction of the sports building.

To ensure access for equipment to the Palace of Culture, an access road will be organized along the border of the architectural monument. This will be done in such a way as not to affect the necropolis of the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery. It will be possible to drive up along the road that existed here in the 1960-1980s. Archaeological research was previously conducted on this territory, and archaeological observations of the work will also be organized during the arrangement of the access road.

The work on the Palace of Culture is being supervised by specialists from the Moscow City Heritage Department: they are monitoring its compliance with the agreed project. After the restoration is completed, this place will become an art quarter and will attract the attention of residents and guests of the capital.

How the Palace of Culture of the Hammer and Sickle Plant was built and changed

An open competition for the design of the Palace of Culture of the "Serp i Molot" plant was held by order of the All-Union Union of Metalworkers in 1929. A site above the slope of a hill near the walls of the Spaso-Andronikov Monastery with an area of 10.95 thousand square meters was allocated for construction. Participants had to offer options for a three-story brick building with an auditorium for a thousand people, a library, a buffet and rooms for clubs and sports.

Compared to similar buildings built earlier, the requirements for the Palace of Culture project included certain conditions. Thus, a workers' rest room was needed, and the buffet had to serve both the auditorium and club sections without mixing the public in these sections. In addition, they were instructed to think through utility rooms at the buffet: a storeroom, a prep room, a washroom, a cellar, an icehouse, and rooms for storing linen and dishes. Their absence in the already built clubs of that time complicated daily work.

This building was conceived as a large public complex for the All-Union Union of Metalworkers. Architect Ignatiy Milinis took second place in the announced competition, but it was his project that was accepted for implementation due to the most successful use of the site. The master based his solution on dividing the entertainment, club and sports parts of the building into independent structures, united by passages at the level of the second floor.

Thus, the club complex with an open courtyard in front of the main entrance occupied most of the hill. From the side of Volochaevskaya Street, a wide staircase rose to the building – one of the expressive elements of the overall composition of the complex. It led to the entrance to the Palace of Culture, which stood out with a powerful canopy of a curved shape. The front courtyard was considered an open vestibule, and in the more closed space of the inner courtyard, limited by the concert, club and sports buildings, it was possible to arrange a summer stage. The original innovative solution of the courtyard space provided additional opportunities for various forms of club activity.

The building of the club of the "Serp i Molot" plant became one of the largest completed complexes of the constructivism era, in which the features of contemporary architecture of that time were most fully embodied. Already in the 1950s, the first reconstruction of the club was carried out, which brought elements of Soviet architecture of the period of development of classical heritage into the appearance of the building.

Since the 1980s, the Palace of Culture has hosted various events and concerts, and was one of the most popular rock venues in Moscow.

Ink and Pen by Zhou Yiwen: A Look at the New Exhibition at MMOMA

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Exposition "Spring follows autumn" The exhibition of contemporary Chinese artist Zhou Yiwen was located in six halls of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) on Gogolevsky Boulevard. It presented graphics, painting, sculpture, video and installations by an artist unfamiliar to the Moscow public.

Dove of Peace

The works of Zhou Yiwen, executed in such a diverse manner, at the Moscow exhibition, as in the artist's many years of work, are united by the image of a white dove, which in almost all cultures denotes love, peace, spirituality and mediation between different levels of the universe. The image does not require transcoding and is an attempt to realize the artist's dream of uniting the cultures of the East and West in his own universe.

Zhou Yiwen talks about himself as an illustrator of children's books and a storyteller. Like the symbolism of the white dove, this fact cannot fail to captivate viewers around the world. Russian art lovers, brought up on the works of Ilya Kabakov, Oleg Vasiliev, Erik Bulatov, Viktor Pivovarov and other artists, expect especially much from illustrators.

Mascara in clean water and more

As an artist who exhibits and sells his work, Zhou Yiwen began with fairly traditional Chinese landscapes in ink on paper. In a video presented on one of the screens, which the attentive viewer should linger over, the master poetically proclaims the paramount importance of ink in both his work and his very existence as an artist.

Without abandoning the use of ink and paper, Zhou Yiwen experiments and diversifies his techniques. In some cases, he uses acrylic paint dripping to form an intricate web-like veil over graphic or pictorial images, in others, he makes hand prints or applies applique to an ink-covered surface.

Just as he layers borrowed techniques on a Chinese shaded base, Zhou Yiwen introduces into the minimalist two-color plane of Far Eastern graphics pictorial and sculptural, ready-made and reworked images of the best Renaissance and later works of European art. Here, next to each other, is a feather, the image of which Chinese artists have been honing for three thousand years, and the head of Michelangelo's David or da Vinci's Mona Lisa, to which European culture has long aspired. In the semantic center is a dove, sometimes depicted carefully, sometimes simplified, and sometimes only a feather that has fallen from the sky is shown.

In other rooms, a painted Taoist sculpture and a cartoon cat are added, and much more could be added. All of these are just ready-made bricks, indistinguishable from a brushstroke or a line, from which the building of the art that Zhou Yiwen is engaged in is constructed. However, one of the most important questions for him remains how to escape from the influence of the West and return to his own creative identity.

"The project is called "Spring after Autumn" because the artist's entire figurative world, which is presented at the exhibition, testifies to the fact that after any possible time of complexity, sadness, contradictions, there always comes a time of renewal. It can also be seen that the artist himself is very keen on the idea of appropriating images of the European Renaissance. We can recall that the Renaissance was called the "spring of art". The artist himself puts this phenomenon at the forefront, calls it the light of enlightenment, which can enlighten any culture and reconcile any contradictions," explains the curator of the exhibition, Katerina Zaitseva.

East to West, West to East

The Moscow exhibition, which focuses on more intimate works, does not include the artist’s large-scale works that took part in his world tour, which began in China and continued in Florence and Venice last year. These include, for example, a spectacular installation with many pigeons sitting and taking off in one space, where the viewer feels as if he is in Venice’s Piazza San Marco, or an object in the form of a wounded green horse without a rider, walking, surrounded by Zhou Yiwen’s iconic feathers (and, of course, with a pigeon in the center of the composition). “East to West, West to East” is how the artist called his exhibition tour, which, according to him, is designed to erase boundaries and fill the voids between cultural worlds. An idea of these delightfully spectacular and important works for the master can be formed from the video documentation in one of the museum’s halls and a miniature green horse sitting in a silver chair.

The green horse seems to demand a Russian context and appears at the exhibition, but not next to, say, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, but surrounded by works of art carefully selected from the MMOMA collection by curators Katerina Zaitseva and Igor Kostrikov. These are the graphic series “Elusiveness” by Rostan Tavasiev and “Case of Sensations” by Igor Makarevich. Rostan’s green bear looks at the horse from the wall opposite, surrounded by others like him — and there is also a green torso in a box. Thus, Shenzhen, Zhou Yiwen’s native city, and Moscow, East and West met in the halls of the Moscow museum.

You can purchase tickets to the exhibition using the service "Mosbilet".

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Over five years, the total turnover of the capital's fashion industry has grown by 1.5 times and by the end of 2024 exceeded 255 billion rubles. Moscow brands continue to expand their presence in the domestic and international markets, including through city programs. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

"Promoting Moscow manufacturers in Russia and abroad is an important area of our work. One of the key tools is the Made in Moscow program. Every fifth resident is involved in the fashion industry. The project's online showroom features 15,000 items of clothing, footwear, accessories, and jewelry. This is more than 40 percent of the total number of goods," said Natalia Sergunina.

In addition to the online platform, brands place their products on the shelves of five branded offline stores, participate in city events and major specialized events.

As part of the project "Summer in Moscow" Art pavilions of the program are open "Made in Moscow"In two of them – on Kuznetsky Most and Bolotnaya Square – you can put together fashionable looks.

From grants to export contracts

Entrepreneurs also have access to other tools to develop their business. For example, industry representatives can receive a grant to patent products in Russia and abroad, conduct pilot testing of new materials at city sites, take out a preferential loan, select premises for production, and reimburse the costs of equipment and employee training.

The Moscow Export Center regularly organizes trips to international exhibitions and forums. Thus, in April, the capital's designers visited Kazakhstan Fashion Week in Alma-Ata as part of a business mission.

The export geography of Moscow fashion brands covers such promising markets as China, India, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.on the center's website You can also find a list of foreign online platforms available for posting products.

You can establish international contacts without leaving the city. On September 2, the fifth Moscow Fashion Week ends in the capital. This large-scale industry event combines several formats at once: a business program with the participation of international experts, collection shows, an open market for city residents and tourists, and a showroom for business negotiations. This approach gives designers the opportunity to meet foreign colleagues, exchange experiences, discuss industry trends, present their work to a wide audience and find new sales markets.

Over the previous four seasons, participants in Moscow Fashion Week have agreed to sign contracts totaling 660 million rubles.

The first episode of "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears. It's Just Beginning" will be shown in the capital

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The first episode of the new musical melodrama "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears. It's Just Beginning" by directors Olga Dolmatovskaya and Zhora Kryzhovnikov will be shown at Bolotnaya Square. The event will be held with the support of the "Made in Moscow" and "Youth of Moscow" projects as part of the city project "Summer in Moscow".

The premiere will take place on September 6 at 19:00. An hour earlier, at 18:00, an autograph session of actors Ruzil Minekaev and Maria Kamova (Mash Milash) will begin. To attend the screening, you must register in the Mosbilet service.

From the 1970s to our time

The main characters were played by Tina Stoyilkovich, Anastasia Talyzina and Maria Kamova (Mash Milash) in their youth, and by Marina Aleksandrova, Yulia Topolnitskaya and Valeria Astapova, respectively, as adults. The series also stars Ivan Yankovsky, Ruzil Minekaev, Milos Bikovich, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Slava Kopeikin and other actors.

The series takes place in the early 2000s. The main character Ksyusha comes to conquer Moscow with a five-year-old child in her arms, without money, connections or any prospects. There is no way back – she fled her hometown, escaping persecution from her abusive husband. New friends help Ksyusha survive in the capital – a diligent medical student Olya and the flighty Masha, who dreams of marrying a foreigner and moving abroad. 20 years later, fate gives the heroines another chance at happiness.

"The idea of creating the series belongs to Andrey Nikolaevich (Zhora Kryzhovnikov. — Ed.). He had long wanted to make a musical melodrama based on the film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears". I joined at the stage when the initial version of the script was written. Before the film, we watched a huge number of American musicals from the 1940s and 1950s. And for me, this genre opened up in a new way. To some extent, I fell in love," said director Olga Dolmatovskaya.

The creators of the series were inspired by the Soviet film by Vladimir Menshov, which received the Oscar award from the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The new melodrama is based on it, but the authors tell a different story, characteristic of our time.

"We re-watched the film and wanted to tell the story of three friends 20 years later, just like in the original. The storyline of our main character is very similar to the one Valentin Chernykh had in his script "Twice Lied", which won the Moscow script competition and then went to Vladimir Menshov. But the two friends have completely different stories, conflicts and problems. We don't have a hockey player and a builder – in general, everything is different," added director Zhora Kryzhovnikov.

Filming with the support of Moscow

The action takes place in recognizable and popular places of the city. The frame will feature the high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, the Ostankino TV Center, the Russian State Academic Youth Theater, Tverskoy Boulevard and Pushkinskaya Square. During the filming of the most massive scene on Tverskoy Boulevard, in which 200 dancers and more than 100 actors participated, a huge amount of technical equipment had to be used to create a light design. In addition, some of the musical numbers were filmed in the Moskino cinema park on the sites of Cowboy Town and Provincial Cities of Europe.

Filming took place in historical places of the capital, on the territory of architectural monuments. In the series you can see the Stroganov estate, the Pushkinsky cinema, the Moscow metro, the Moscow Kremlin, Red Square, the VK Stadium concert hall and many other places.

The capital provided support for the filming process. On Tverskoy Boulevard, the Moskino film commission provided the filming of the final, most large-scale scene for the capital since the creation of the film "Hipsters" in 2008. Despite the difficulties of organization, shift changes and weather conditions, the commission managed to coordinate the work of filmmakers and city services.

The filming on the streets of Moscow was also organized with the support of the film commission. All necessary permits were obtained thanks to the organized approach and professionalism of the staff. Special employees of the film commission — film commissioners — helped organize the closure of traffic.

As noted by the press service of the Moscow film cluster, the film commission managed the almost impossible – to conduct mass filming without disrupting the main life processes in the city center. In record time, they carried out complex approvals with the capital's departments of trade and services, transport and development of road and transport infrastructure, health care, housing and utilities, the Moscow Directorate of Mass Events, and the prefecture. As a result, they managed not only to film all the necessary scenes, but also to create a wonderful image of Moscow in the project.

Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the modernization of the Gorky Film StudioThe Moskino Cinema Park filmed a TV series based on the film Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears

"Made in Moscow" is a project to promote local brands. Today it has more than 7.5 thousand brands, and on the site you can find more than 36 thousand products created in the capital. Entrepreneurs receive free support measures from information to participation in large city events.

"Summer in Moscow"— the main event of the season. The project is aimed at strengthening social and family ties, as well as the personal development of its participants. Specialists from the city services complex will replace more than 490 thousand square meters of asphalt on Volgogradsky Prospekt and Marxistskaya Street. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

"This year we are renovating one of the capital's key thoroughfares – Volgogradsky Prospekt and Marxistskaya Street. The main task is to improve pedestrian and transport accessibility of important city objects, to ensure comfortable and safe movement of pedestrians. As part of the work, we will replace a total of more than 490 thousand square meters of asphalt concrete pavement," said Pyotr Biryukov.

The road surface here was last changed in 2021. According to regulations, the service life between repairs of asphalt for category one roads, which includes Volgogradsky Prospekt, is three years.

The work is carried out in several stages. First, the existing pavement is milled, inspection wells and rain grates are repaired, and then a new asphalt concrete surface is laid and road markings are applied. The events involve 217 people and 143 units of specialized equipment.

As part of the improvement of Volgogradsky Prospekt and Marxistskaya Street, overhead lines will be moved underground, into the cable duct. In addition, the lighting system will be modernized, benches and modern bus stops will be installed, and landscaping will be carried out.

The comprehensive improvement projects being implemented in the capital correspond to the goals and objectives of the national project "Infrastructure for life".
