The Moskvich labor project, which united student brigades, has ended in the capital. More than 500 participants of the Moscow branch of the Russian Student Brigades worked in the city this summer: they erected construction sites, took care of passenger comfort on trains, served clients at airports and restaurants, created IT products for companies, and worked as junior and mid-level medical personnel.

The 16th century Church of the Ascension of the Lord has been restored in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. Sergei Sobyanin spoke about this in his blog.

"Last year, we began implementing a comprehensive project to improve the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. We are tidying up and creating new play and sports areas, planting trees. This year, we opened a new embankment. At the same time, we carried out the restoration of a unique monument of Russian architecture – the tent-roofed Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Kolomenskoye," the Moscow Mayor wrote.

In 1994, the church was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List along with the Kremlin, Red Square and the Novodevichy Convent. Careful and thorough restoration lasted two and a half years. The royal seat is a canopy on the eastern facade of the temple, crowned with a keel-shaped zakomara with an image of a double-headed eagle. It was once painted with ochre, terracotta and green paint. During the restoration, specialists did not paint over or make up for the loss of white stone, deciding to turn this place into a museum.

The historic staircase with stirrups was cleared, coated with red lead and painted. The base of the building was preserved in its historic form. Small losses and unevenness were intentionally left and preserved to emphasize the age of the church, which will soon be 500 years old. Inside, the brickwork was cleared of plaster, lost fragments were replaced, and the white stone capitals with carvings were restored.

The church is scheduled to open on the feast day of the Ascension of the Lord in May 2026. By that time, the tyablov iconostasis will be returned to the upper aisle, and a new exhibition about the history of the building will be prepared in the basement. Andrey Batalov, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, became the scientific consultant for its creation.

The exhibition will be open all year round, and the church itself will be open only during warm weather. Services will be held on the main church holidays, and the rest of the time the church will function as a museum.

Specialists from the municipal services complex have begun upgrading the large gas control station "Akademichesky" in the southwest of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.
