The Kolomna plant has delivered its 300th 18-9DGM diesel generator to the customer. The anniversary unit was shipped to the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant after successful acceptance by the Russian Railways inspection service. The unit will be installed on the country's most powerful three-section diesel locomotive, the 3TE28. Serial production of the 18-9DGM diesel generator at the TMH plant in Kolomna will begin in the second half of 2023.

The 18-9DGM diesel generator was developed by specialists at TMH's Engine Engineering Center, and assembly is carried out by the company's specialists at the Kolomensky Zavod production facilities. The 18-9DGM unit is a modernized version of the serial 18-9DG diesel generators manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod for 2TE25KM diesel locomotives.

The 18-9DGM unit became the heart of the 3TE28 mainline freight diesel locomotive with AC-DC electric transmission. This locomotive's primary purpose is to haul heavy trains weighing up to 7,100 tons on a grade of 11.5‰ in the harsh climate and challenging terrain of the Far Eastern Railway and the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM).

The use of the 18-9DGM diesel generator on the 3TE28 diesel locomotives has enabled high performance and productivity in harsh operating conditions—not only on slopes but also on level sections of track. For example, on flat terrain, this locomotive is capable of hauling trains weighing up to 18,300 tons.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexey Matushansky launched a new test rig for diesel-diesel units at the Kolomensky Plant.

This unique complex, designed for testing diesel-diesel units, will expand the capacity of the company's test bench, supporting both existing and future contracts.

The opening ceremony was attended by TMH First Deputy General Director Alexander Morozov, Deputy General Director Artem Ledenev, Deputy General Director for Technical Development and Project Management of TMH-Energy Solutions Dmitry Mirny, General Director of Penzadieselmash Vadim Leskov, and General Director of the TMH Engine Engineering Center Anatoly Melnikov.

Vadim Yakovlev, CEO of the Kolomensky Plant, demonstrated key upgraded production facilities to representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the holding company: the mechanical block shop, the fuel system shop, the crankshaft shop, the machine assembly shop, and the acceptance testing shop.

A. Matushansky gave a positive assessment of the progress of projects being implemented at the enterprise using resources from the Industrial Development Fund (IDF).

The Kolomensky Plant (part of TMH-Energy Solutions) specializes in the production of medium-speed engines for locomotives, ships and vessels, small-scale and nuclear power generation facilities, and mining equipment. The company produces both diesel and multi-fuel models capable of running on liquefied gas, crude oil, and associated gas. TMH's Engine Engineering Center develops new engine designs.

Since 2018, the Kolomensky Plant has been actively modernizing production and localizing the production of key components. In 2023, the plant's investment project received federal support. Over 26 billion rubles will be allocated by 2027 for production development, component localization, and the development of new engine modifications. Financing will be provided through both the plant's own funds and targeted loans from the Industrial Development Fund.
