KAMAZ PJSC and the Smolmash plant have launched a new combined road vehicle, the KDM-7881190, based on the K5 generation dump truck, the KAMAZ-65951 (8×4).

The new KDM is based on a high-tech four-axle KAMAZ-65951 chassis. This latest-generation K5 is designed for operation in harsh conditions. The vehicle's gross vehicle weight reaches 50 tons, with the front axles supporting loads of up to 18 tons, and the rear bogie supporting up to 32 tons. This design ensures high versatility: the special equipment can be quickly converted without losing its primary dump truck functions. To effectively combat ice, a de-icing agent wetting system with 3,000-liter plastic tanks is included, and the hopper is equipped with a heavy-duty cover to protect the de-icing agent from external influences. Particular attention was paid to control during development: the reagent distribution process is fully automated (the spreading density is adjustable from 5-500 g/m²; the spreading width is adjustable from 1.2 to 12 m) and is controlled from the driver's cab. The engineers also provided duplicate control using an ergonomic joystick, which allows the operator to instantly adjust operating parameters.

A powerful LED light on the cab and an additional LED panel located on top of the hopper provide excellent visibility at night. To warn other road users in poor visibility, strobe lights are installed, as well as active LED "Arrow" and "Road Works" signs.

URAL crews competed for the title of "King of the Mountain" on extreme tracks in Tver.

Last weekend, Pavlov's Adventure Park in Tver became the scene of heated battles as part of the annual "Tver Mess. King of the Hill" motorsport competition. Athletes from the URAL Automobile Plant's trials team, URAL MOTORSPORT, and the Service Center competed for the main title in conditions that tested the strength of both equipment and drivers.

A formidable team of five crews from URAL took the starting line at the legendary off-road event. Their competitors included both private participants and teams representing another giant of the Russian automotive industry, KAMAZ.

"This season, our factory was represented by four racing teams. Three cars came from the URAL MOTORSPORT team and one crew from the Service Center, which is based on the factory premises. For our service specialists, this is a kind of elective—an activity they enjoy. They have their own dedicated vehicle—a Ural-4320. They prepare it, maintain it, and race in it themselves," commented Viktor Yakovlev, head of the URAL MOTORSPORT racing team.

The competition's difficulty and spectacle were greatly increased by the heavy autumn rains, which had thoroughly washed out the track just before the start. Navigating the slippery clay slopes presented a real challenge for all crews.

As the organizers noted, one of the key points on the route was located at an altitude of 12 meters. Climbing such steep and wet slopes presented a severe challenge even for specially prepared equipment, let alone standard SUVs.

"The course was interesting even in dry weather, but the rain reduced the variability of its passage to a minimum. The route became incredibly challenging for all participants," emphasized Evgeny Pavlov.

Such competitions are not only a sporting struggle, but also a serious test of technique at the limits of capabilities.

"For the truck industry, these kinds of events are a platform for extreme testing. We see what the vehicles are truly capable of: how the suspension, frame, and cabin perform. It becomes clear which components require special attention, and what happens to the axle shafts under critical conditions. Our vehicles demonstrate the highest reliability. It's important to note that these are completely production vehicles, with the only modification being a protective safety cage," explained Viktor Yakovlev.

The Ural Automobile Plant provided its team with extensive preparation for the final trials event of the year. Prior to their trip to Tver, all athletes in the trials team completed intensive on-site training at training grounds in the Chelyabinsk region.

Cars presented for the competition:

As a reminder, in April 2025, the URAL Automobile Plant won a competitive selection process from the Russian Foundation for Information Technology Development and received state support for the implementation of products, services, and platform solutions as part of the federal project "Domestic Solutions" of the national project "Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State" of the Russian Federation's state program "Information Society." The automobile plant and PROF-IT GROUP have only completed the first quarter of their digital journey. In the future, the project will enable the development and advancement of the company's production system and quality management system. Starting in March, the Tutaev Motor Plant, a KAMAZ subsidiary in the Yaroslavl region, will begin producing a new product: a pulley block designed to increase the traction capabilities of vehicle winches.

According to Vladimir Shchannikov, Chief Engineer at TMZ PJSC, the product will be used in automotive applications alongside winches with a capacity of 20 to 30 tons. It is designed to double the winch's pulling capacity.

In 2025, the plant's technical services studied similar designs produced in Russia and internationally and developed a new product that is easy to operate in harsh conditions. Research and development work was completed, and a prototype was produced, which successfully passed testing in an accredited laboratory in Yaroslavl and as part of a vehicle at the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Center. Based on the test results, the new product was recommended for use in automotive vehicles.

The components for the pulley block will be manufactured in the custom equipment and machine tool shop, the mechanical assembly shop, and the iron foundry of PAO TMZ. Assembly of the winch block will be organized in the custom equipment and machine tool shop.

Serial delivery of the pulley block to the KAMAZ PJSC conveyor is planned for March.

The annual Spartakiad of OAT Group enterprises has started

The first stage of the traditional annual Spartakiad of enterprises of the Dimitrovgrad industrial site of the OAT Group (part of KAMAZ PJSC) took place at the Dimitrovgrad ski and biathlon track. The competition opened with a ski relay.

As per tradition, the ski relay consisted of three stages. Teams from the Association for Social Support of Pensioners, AVTOSVET LLC, TEKHNOMASH LLC, and a team of industrial site companies participated in the event. The snowy February weather and the warm, friendly rivalry characteristic of the Dimitrovgrad competitions created a unique atmosphere of competition for victory.

The AVTOSVET team took first place, while the veterans of the factory sports team (Association for Social Support of Pensioners) took second place. The combined team of the industrial site's companies placed third, and the TEKHNOMASH team placed fourth. The veterans of the factory sports team demonstrated excellent physical fitness and fighting spirit, earning silver medals.
