A new 3D printer has increased the efficiency of processes at KAMAZ's foundry.

The KAMAZ PJSC foundry's steel casting production facility has acquired a 3D printer, enabling the production of more high-precision rods used in casting production.

The new equipment has been installed in the 3D-printed rod production area. A new room with a specific microclimate has been specially prepared for it: it maintains a temperature of 18 to 26°C and humidity no higher than 40%.

"A casting core is designed to form a hole, an internal cavity, or a complex contour in a casting. A 3D printer allows us to produce high-precision cores: the equipment achieves an accuracy of approximately 300 micrometers. Secondly, it has a fairly high productivity. Previously, cores were made by hand, producing about 10 cores per shift. With a printer, we can produce 80-100 units. A third advantage is that the printer can print cores of complex configurations that cannot be produced by other methods," explained Rafil Nurullin, Head of the Steel Casting Production Technology Department.

The printer currently prints approximately 100 different rods, primarily used in the production of castings for KAMAZ K5-generation vehicles. If necessary, adjustments are made to the 3D model in the program, including design changes, and the technology is refined. The updated rod can be delivered the next day.

The foundry uses rods in its non-ferrous and steel casting production. When needed, the facility also manufactures rods for cast iron production.

On Wednesday, March 25, Albert Wiesinger, Project Manager at KAMAZ PJSC, passed away at the age of 68. During his years at the company, he made a significant contribution to the development of production, technology, and the product lineup.

Albert Wiesinger began his career in 1973 in his hometown of Steyr, Austria, as a process engineer at a Daimler plant. He then worked at MAN Group plants, rising from intern to project manager. He implemented international projects for the MAN Group in Poland, Finland, India, China, and Russia.

Since 2011, he has been involved in the analysis and implementation of KAMAZ projects, initially as a consulting consultant, and in 2013, he assumed leadership of the "Cabin" project. In subsequent years, Albert Wiesinger worked on cutting-edge projects at KAMAZ PJSC related to increasing production and economic efficiency, developing new products and technologies, and import substitution.

By 2015, under his leadership, a project to develop production of a new cabin for KAMAZ vehicles was completed. This became the company's first step toward conquering the premium long-haul truck market. From 2014 to 2018, KAMAZ produced over 23,000 vehicles with the new cabin. These trucks became market bestsellers and the company's flagship models.

Albert Vizinger's second ambitious project at KAMAZ was the import substitution of vehicle components, successfully implemented between 2016 and 2018. This work significantly reduced the production cost of the KAMAZ-5490 vehicle, increased independence from foreign suppliers, and improved product margins.

The third area of focus was a project to develop automated production of aluminum fuel tanks—a new technology for Russia that will further enhance KAMAZ's independence from external economic factors and open up new horizons for the development of specialized design and engineering competencies. Projects to organize semi-trailer production, outsource foundry product lines, and other initiatives were also successfully implemented.

His high level of professionalism, extensive experience, and excellent organizational skills enabled him to achieve outstanding results at every stage of his illustrious professional career. In 2018, Albert Vizinger was awarded the Republic of Tatarstan Medal "For Valiant Labor."

This truck is an effective solution for the agricultural sector," emphasized Alexander Rusyaev, Chief Mechanic of Magma HD LLC.

The high-tech K5-generation KAMAZ-6595 dump truck is designed for transporting bulk construction, industrial, and household cargo. A collective bargaining conference was held at KAMAZ

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: KAMAZ – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Today, March 24, a labor conference was held at KAMAZ to discuss the fulfillment of the Collective Agreement obligations for 2025.

The event was attended by KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin, the company's Deputy CEO for Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Corporate Governance Zhanna Khaliullina, the chairman of the auto giant's trade union committee Ildar Shamilov, and representatives of the company's plants and divisions.

Zhanna Khaliullina, Deputy General Director for Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Corporate Governance, presented a report on the performance of KAMAZ PJSC's collective agreement obligations in 2025. She noted that the company increased vehicle sales last year, representing an 8.6% increase compared to 2024. KAMAZ PJSC's share of the Russian market for heavy-duty trucks with a gross vehicle weight over 14 tonnes reached 33% by the end of 2025, compared to 18% the previous year. KAMAZ's market share increased thanks to both the classic K3 generation in the commercial segment and the latest K5 generation. Extensive work is underway to provide Russian regions with passenger transport. The company continues to participate in federal projects to upgrade the vehicle fleets of Russian cities. New bus models and an A5 generation electric bus have been launched. Furthermore, KAMAZ continues to supply vehicles to the Russian military.

"During the reporting year, we didn't just meet our targets; we revisited our approaches, introduced new tools, and, most importantly, strived to ensure that every KAMAZ employee felt cared for by the company," emphasized Zhanna Khaliullina. "The first thing we focused on during the reporting period was transforming the social benefits system. We abandoned the principle of 'thin-grain' distribution and transitioned to targeted support for key target groups: young people, families, families with children, and employees in difficult life situations. Funding was maintained at a level that covered all key staff needs. Funds were allocated for spa treatment, meal compensation, maternity support, and financial assistance in difficult life situations."

Furthermore, systematic support for mobilized workers and their families continues. Over the past year, 75 families have received financial assistance totaling over 11 million rubles. More than 4,400 "Lenta" gift certificates worth five thousand rubles have also been issued to the families of mobilized workers, totaling over 20 million rubles. Fifteen families of mobilized workers have received spa treatment at the Naberezhnye Chelny Sanatorium and KAMAZzhilbyt.

In turn, Ilnar Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the KAMAZ PJSC Trade Union, reported on the activities of the auto giant's trade union committee in 2025. He noted that in today's environment, the trade union plays a significant and crucial role both in protecting workers' rights and as a social partner. Currently, the United Primary Trade Union Organization of KAMAZ PJSC comprises 58 primary trade union organizations, with two new ones established last year. By the end of 2025, the membership coverage for the main group of KAMAZ organizations located in Naberezhnye Chelny was over 93%.

The reports from the administration and trade union committee on the fulfillment of obligations under the KAMAZ PJSC Collective Agreement for 2025 indicate that all obligations have been fulfilled during the reporting period. Compensatory and incentive payments established by the Collective Agreement and KAMAZ PJSC regulatory documents have been made in full.

Summing up the conference, KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin noted that the company continues to operate in volatile market conditions and that the announced results were achieved despite the current challenging situation. The Russian commercial vehicle market has shrunk by more than half, and current demand doesn't provide comfortable conditions for the stable operation of the company and related industry enterprises. "Under these conditions, maintaining our scientific, technical, and production potential remains a constant challenge. In 2026, we must consider and focus on key areas. Smooth assembly line operation is essential; it allows us to synchronize suppliers, logistics, and personnel, avoiding rush jobs and downtime. Quality is especially crucial—it's our anti-crisis tool today: in a market that is shrinking and competition is increasing, quality is becoming the primary argument for customer retention. It's also crucial to ensure import substitution without sacrificing quality: by replacing obsolete components, we must maintain or even improve the reliability of our product," emphasized Sergey Kogogin.

The company's CEO also noted that, in addition to equipment deliveries, the team participated in the dispatch of humanitarian aid throughout the year, supported mobilized colleagues, and assisted new regions of the country. "Ensuring the uninterrupted production of vehicles to protect the country's borders and national interests remains a crucial mission. This is our duty today, and we are successfully fulfilling this crucial task. Thank you to the entire team for your work in 2025, for your patriotism and responsiveness!" said the KAMAZ CEO.
