The results of the All-Russian "To Be, Not to Seem!" 2025 competition were announced in Kazan, and the top 100 mentors in the country were announced. Over the course of nine months, they completed qualifying rounds and semi-finals, ultimately being recognized as the best among more than 70,000 applicants. The final round took place in Kazan on October 11.
First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko addressed a welcoming address to the competition's participants and guests: "In the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, it is especially important to pay due attention to the topic of intergenerational continuity. It is mentors who help young people find their bearings in life, becoming guardians of historical memory, passing it on to new generations. Memory is our shield of meaning, protecting society from distortion of truth, indifference, and oblivion, making us strong and united in the face of any challenge."
The 100 competition winners will be included in the youth policy talent pool and will have the opportunity to scale up mentoring practices across the country.
"The 'Be, Not Seem!' competition, held at the behest of our President Vladimir Putin, helps reward teachers and mentors across a wide range of fields. This year, 100 representatives from 49 regions became winners. Importantly, among them are our heroes – members of the SVO. I congratulate the winners on this remarkable achievement! I thank everyone for their effective work and participation in the competition. I wish them good health, the successful implementation of their ideas and projects, and grateful students. I encourage everyone to participate in the competition, which this year is part of the 'Youth and Children' national project," emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The All-Russian competition "To Be, Not to Seem!" 2025 became a platform for participants from 79 regions to share their experiences. During the final round, mentors pitched their projects to experts, including representatives of the teaching community, the NGO sector, public organizations, and other sectors. Almost all winners received offers to scale up and develop their projects jointly.
Experts identified the most successful mentoring practices, which will be added to the federal database of the best projects. An initiative by a participant from the Altai Krai aims to create clubs at enterprises where the children of SVO participants will learn skills needed in the labor market. The "Technopatriot" competition project, which plans to teach children and teenagers drone piloting skills, was also considered.
"Mentors are the backbone of Russia's entire patriotic education system. Through honest dialogue and attentive engagement, they inspire the younger generation to serve the Fatherland. Participants of the Special Military Unit, heroes, and combat veterans—those whose personal example of heroism and heroism becomes a model of civic responsibility, service, and responsibility—actively join the mentor community. Among the winners of the 2025 "To Be, Not to Seem!" competition are three recipients of the Order of Courage and five recipients of the Medal for Bravery. These are true patriots of our country, who find their calling and achieve success in educating the younger generation," noted Grigory Gurov, head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
Winners of the 2025 All-Russian Mentoring Competition "To Be, Not to Seem!" will receive certificates for an educational trip around Russia through the "More Than a Journey" program, as well as training and professional development opportunities from the RosPatriotCenter of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.
