Financial news: On the change in the price increment on the Moscow Exchange stock market from February 2, 2026.

In order to improve the efficiency of the stock market microstructure, Moscow Exchange, as part of its quarterly review from February 2, 2026, is setting a new price step and Decimals parameter forlist of securitiesin the following trading modes:

Main trading mode T (“glass” T 1) Trading mode “Incomplete lots” Negotiated transactions mode (RPS) Trading mode “RPS with CC”

The current approach to setting the price step wasapprovedBy the Moscow Exchange Stock Market Committee.

The methodology includes:

The price step size can take values of (1,2,5) * 10N, where N is an integer; the number of price ranges is 25, the number of liquidity ranges is 7; for each liquidity range, a recommended range of the number of price steps in the spread is set; the maximum permissible value of the relative price step is 1%.

For reference:

When determining the price increment, the price and liquidity of securities are taken into account. Optimizing the price increment reduces the wait time for an order to be executed at the best price and encourages investors to submit limit orders in the order book. Improving the quality of exchange trading enables investors to apply algorithmic trading strategies to a wider range of securities and contributes to increased liquidity.

The price step has been revised quarterly since the second quarter of 2015.

First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, to work on the procurement of domestically produced school buses from the federal budget in 2026, as well as their distribution across Russia's regions.

The school bus fleet renewal program for 2025–2030 is being implemented in accordance with the Russian President's directive to annually purchase at least 3,000 new, domestically produced, highly localized school buses from budgetary funds for priority use in small towns and rural areas.

As a reminder, in 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade delivered approximately 3,100 school buses worth over 11 billion rubles to educational institutions in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Thanks to a government decision in December 2024, the corresponding purchase was fully funded in advance, facilitating the timely production of the equipment at domestic enterprises—AZ NAZ, PAZ, KAVZ, and UAZ.

21.01.2026 Mosfilm presents: the restored version of Andrei Rublev returns to cinemas. The premiere screening of the restored version will take place on February 21 at the Mosfilm Cinema Center.

Mosfilm announces the wide release of Andrei Tarkovsky's legendary film "Andrei Rublev" in a state-of-the-art digital restoration in 4K resolution. The restored version will premiere on February 21 at Mosfilm's Cinema Center (Mosfilm Cinema Park), and will be shown to audiences across Russia on February 22.

Mosfilm CEO and film director Karen Shakhnazarov: "The film 'Andrei Rublev' is an outstanding artistic achievement of our cinema. It is an entire system of images that has become an important part of our national culture. It is precisely these films, with their enduring value, that must be carefully preserved and brought back to the screen."

Karen Shakhnazarov also noted that Andrei Rublev (1966) wasn't a box office hit in its release year, but its true artistic value is borne out by time. "Where are those box-office hits that were released simultaneously with Tarkovsky's film? And Rublev has been watched for so many years now! We're releasing it theatrically to mark its 60th anniversary. Just think about it: the film has been around for so many decades, and it's constantly being requested for screenings all over the world," the head of the Mosfilm film company emphasized. He also added that over these decades, the film has likely reached more viewers than even the highest-grossing Soviet hits.

"It's especially worth noting that we regularly screen classics at Mosfilm's Cinema Center, and 'Andrei Rublev'—Tarkovsky's most popular film—is more popular than all the others," emphasized Karen Shakhnazarov, explaining the decision to restore and re-release the film by citing the large and devoted audience that appreciates such films. "Therefore, we will, of course, continue restoring our film library. All of Andrei Tarkovsky's films shot at Mosfilm have been restored. But we are also giving a new lease of life to films by other directors—Gaidai, Ryazanov, Daneliya, Menshov, Klimov, and others."

The film studio plans to re-release several more of Andrei Tarkovsky's films shot at Mosfilm in 2026: Solaris, Mirror, Stalker, and Ivan's Childhood. All films have also undergone frame-by-frame digital image and sound restoration.

The painstaking work of restorers

Telekino specialists performed a frame-by-frame digital restoration to bring Andrei Tarkovsky's masterpiece back to the big screen in pristine quality. The film is now available in 4K resolution with restored image and sound.

The work was extremely complex: restorers had to manually align long shots with varying density and brightness. Shots featuring fog and rain required particular attention. Maintaining the black-and-white aesthetic, the restorers meticulously maintained a black-and-white balance, working with numerous shades of gray to avoid losing detail. The primary objective was to preserve the authentic film texture of the image, harmoniously merging shots within scenes. Working with the film source material—the intermediate positive—restorers also had to deal with unusual defects and artifacts, such as networks of fine cracks in the emulsion layer on individual shots, similar to craquelure in painting, which required lengthy and painstaking work.

History of creation: a masterpiece born in struggle

The idea for a film about the great icon painter came from actor Vasily Livanov, who envisioned himself in the lead role and came up with the original title, "The Passion According to Andrei." Tarkovsky submitted a proposal for the film back in 1961. Filming, which spanned years, was incredibly complex and took place in Suzdal, Pskov, Vladimir, and Moscow. Scenes on location were sometimes shot in extreme conditions, and some scenes nearly led to real-life emergencies at historical monuments.

After much hesitation, the director cast Anatoly Solonitsyn in the lead role. His performance was an example of incredible dedication: to realistically portray his vow of silence, the actor actually did not speak for four months. Rolan Bykov came up with all the details of his buffoon himself, and Nikolai Burlyaev had to "rejuvenate" for the role of Boriska.

Despite the creative feat of the film crew, the film's fate proved difficult. It was harshly criticized and effectively banned. Its triumph at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival occurred partly against the wishes of film officials. The film received a limited Soviet release only in 1971, in a shortened version, and the full version was released only during Perestroika.

Today, "Andrei Rublev" is recognized as one of the greatest films in world cinema. The latest restoration and new release are Mosfilm's tribute to the genius of Andrei Tarkovsky and a unique opportunity for a new generation of viewers to see this film as it was conceived and created by its creators—on the big screen.

Davos, Switzerland, January 21 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Europe is "moving in the wrong direction," noting that some parts of the continent have become "unrecognizable" in a "very negative" way.

The President of the United States made the relevant statements while speaking at the 2026 annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

In his speech, Donald Trump again criticized Europe's migration policy and expressed his opposition to the Green Agenda, once again calling it a "new green scam." He advocated for expanded fossil fuel production and accelerated approval of new nuclear energy projects, claiming that the energy situation in Europe had reached a "catastrophic" level, characterized by high prices and low supplies.

Minsk, January 21 (Xinhua) – Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov expressed confidence in warming relations with his European neighbors. The Belta news agency published the statement on Wednesday.

"I'm most hopeful that cooperation will be restored most quickly with Poland. This is a country that sees itself as a true regional leader and is doing everything to achieve this—pursuing a pragmatic policy in which it cannot afford any blind spots," stated M. Ryzhenkov, adding that he expects cooperation to be built in the interests of people on both sides of the Belarusian-Polish border, and a return to trade, economic, and people-to-people interaction.

Meanwhile, the Belarusian Foreign Minister has a different view on Lithuania. "This is a country where politicians, unfortunately, don't think and don't intend to think about their people. They owe their positions not to the Lithuanian people, but to the regional committees in Brussels or Washington. And they'll do whatever they're told. This makes them unpredictable," explained M. Ryzhenkov.

In his opinion, when the window of opportunity for resuming cooperation with Lithuania opens, “we will have to think several times about how far to open this window and whether it should be opened at all.” –0–

Brussels, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) — The European Parliament on Wednesday voted to refer the free trade agreement between the European Union and the South American Common Market (Mercosur) to the Court of Justice of the European Union for review, a move that could slow its ratification process and increase uncertainty over its implementation.

The EU and Mercosur officially signed a free trade agreement on January 17 in the Paraguayan capital Asunción.

Kunming, January 21 (Xinhua) — Twenty-one government officials face penalties for a coal mine accident in southwest China's Yunnan Province in 2024 that killed six people, according to the Yunnan Bureau of the National Mine Safety Administration.

According to an investigation report recently released by the department, a sudden coal and gas outburst occurred at the Goutou Coal Mine in Weixin County, Yunnan Province, at 5:35 a.m. on August 18, 2024, killing six people, injuring one, and causing direct economic losses of about 10.7 million yuan (about 1.53 million U.S. dollars).

The investigation found that the accident was caused by negligence and gross violation of laws and regulations in the operation of the coal mine, inadequate performance of duties by the relevant mine safety authorities, and inadequate supervision by local authorities.

The incident investigation team recommended that 40 individuals be held accountable. Specifically, the cases of 10 individuals, including the mine's legal representative, general director, and manager, are to be referred to the courts in accordance with the law, while the cases of 21 local government officials are to be referred to disciplinary and supervisory authorities.
