BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — With the Central Asian region's urbanization accelerating, people's demand for convenient and low-carbon travel has increased significantly. In this regard, Chinese-made clean-energy vehicles have become one of the ideal choices for local consumers, the Zhongguo Guomen Shibao newspaper of the General Administration of Customs reported.
Segway Technology Co., Ltd., a personal mobility aids development and manufacturing company based in Changzhou City, East China's Jiangsu Province, is preparing to send a batch of ATVs worth a total of 740,000 yuan (approximately $103,700) to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
According to the results of the first half of 2025, the company's export volume of ATVs, electric scooters, electric bicycles and their spare parts to Central Asian countries reached 8.7 million yuan in value terms.
The company's products are currently sold in more than 100 countries and regions around the world. Company representative Li Mingju noted that the Central Asian region, where the Chinese side first put forward the Belt and Road Initiative, is an important support point in the globalization strategy of their enterprise.
Parked at Zhongtong Bus Holding Co., Ltd., a leading bus manufacturing company based in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, east China, are a number of passenger buses with the sticker “FERGANA CITY BUS.” They will be delivered to Fergana City, Uzbekistan, via the Khorgos checkpoint in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwest China.
The company's foreign marketing director, Tang Xuexia, noted that this batch of gas-powered buses, manufactured to order for Uzbekistan, is equipped with engines independently developed by China. Thanks to low carbon emissions and powerful engines, these vehicles will not only help reduce operating costs, but will also transport passengers safely and comfortably, she noted.
It is worth noting that, under the support of Liaocheng Customs, the company has strengthened the development of buses that meet the greenhouse gas emission regulations of Central Asian countries. To this end, the company has introduced advanced combustion technologies into its engines, improved the intake and exhaust systems, and upgraded the exhaust gas cleaning device.
According to the data, in the first half of this year, the company exported 193 passenger buses to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries, with a total value of over 100 million yuan.
