Rio de Janeiro, October 18 (Xinhua) — At least 15 people were killed and several injured in a bus accident that occurred on the evening of October 17 in the state of Pernambuco in northeastern Brazil, the country's Federal Highway Police (PRF) reported.

URUMQI, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — Investment inflows into Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) totaled 847.5 billion yuan (about 119.5 billion U.S. dollars) in the first three quarters of 2025, up 18.2 percent year-on-year, according to local government data.

TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) — Iran's Foreign Ministry said Saturday that the country's nuclear program should be treated in the same way as any other non-nuclear state party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) due to the expiration of a UN Security Council resolution limiting its nuclear power.
