Paris, October 26 (Xinhua) — French police on Saturday made further progress in their investigation into the recent Louvre jewelry theft, detaining two people for questioning, local media reported Sunday.

BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) — China's forestry and grassland industries have formed four sectors with output values of over 1 trillion yuan (about 141 billion U.S. dollars) each, according to a report submitted to the 18th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) on Sunday.

Moscow, October 26 (Xinhua) — Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of decisive tests of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered, unlimited-range cruise missile, TASS reported on Sunday.

"The decisive tests have now been completed," Vladimir Putin said during a visit to the command post of the joint group of forces.

He noted that considerable work remains to be done to put the weapon on combat alert, but key objectives have already been achieved. KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) — Cambodia and Thailand signed a joint declaration on peace on Sunday at the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in the Malaysian capital.

The declaration was signed by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

At the signing ceremony, Khun Manet said Cambodia reaffirms its strong commitment to fully implement the joint declaration and to continue working closely with Thailand and all partners to ensure lasting peace that will bring tangible benefits to the people of both countries.

Beijing, October 26 (Xinhua) — A Chinese-Russian research workshop entitled "The 80th Anniversary of the United Nations (UN): Achievements and Future. The Role of the UN in Contemporary Global Governance" was held via videoconference on Friday.

On October 25 of this year, the UN celebrates the 80th anniversary of its founding. The event aimed to summarize the UN's role and challenges in maintaining international order and advancing global governance, as well as to discuss common positions and areas of cooperation between China and Russia in supporting the UN system and advocating for multilateralism.

Bringing together experts and scholars from think tanks in China and Russia, the research workshop focused on three topics: the importance of the UN for the international system, cooperation between the two countries to maintain the UN's leading role in global politics, and the implementation of the Global Governance Initiative.

Sun Zhuangzhi, Director of the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IRESCA CAS), emphasized the need to rely on the UN Charter, adhere to genuine multilateralism, and oppose unilateralism and hegemony.

He stated that China is ready to work with Russia to build a more just and rational international order within the framework of the UN, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the BRICS mechanism.
